We need them because we are crying a lot (when we do our Wednesday Weigh In)....and we are embarrassed a lot too (when we say how much we ate the week before)!

This is the second time I've posted about this, but now it's concerning me because I'm seeing it more often. I browse by "Active Topics" and have come across the "currently unavailable" message several times now. If it's a glitch, that's ok and I accept that, but the more I see it, I realize the timing doesn't add up. For instance in this screenshot, the last post "currently unavailable" was made July 4th, yet it's in the middle of Active Topics that are two hours old. Is someone being prevented from posting information (which is what I'll assume until I hear differently), or is it a legit glitch?

Something seems wrong here. This particular time it happened to be in the clinical trials/research forum. Every other time it has been in the alt/comp forum, which seems like too much of a coincidence. Seems posts are being removed preemptively.

Thanks leggo. It is a tech glitch, and we are passing it along to our tech team!

We appreciate screen shots, so thanks!

Having trouble with putting some pictures in today.  Just end up with a little square box in the upper left hand area of the entry box screen.

    Thanks,

    Jackie

Jackie - We are not seeing an issue at our end. Some initial thoughts are that the photos need to be saved to a file somewhere on your computer. We are copying this note from our Help Section. "Note: The image you wish to insert must be saved online somewhere, such as www.Photobucket.com or www.Flickr.com. Each of these sites explains how to share your images. You should select the HTML code option for the image you want, and paste it into the "Image URL" box."  Let us know if you continue to struggle with this and we will look for other solutions. Thanks....I'll work with this info and see how it goes.

EDITED -- Just guess I was surprised as that has been a fairly seldom occurrence for me.

    Dear IllinoisLady

    You can
also post images from your computer that are not in picture holding websites.
Just click the graphics icon (rectangle with mountains) in the Post/Topic tool bar
and then click CHOOSE FILE and find photo on your computer. The File will then
    upload to the BCO website.

Where you are possibly getting a small square in top left corner is because, using this method, you need to 'copy' your photo  to the BCO server, and that can take time to appear in the post window. You also may have a large picture file, so if you can decrease the picture size first down to under 800 pixels wide, (about 500 is better), it will load faster for others and not need re-sizing as much. To re-size a photo, click once int the photo then grab the bottom right corner and drag that to size.

    Good luck with posting pics.

Hey mods - the preview issue is still not fixed.  Can't remember how long ago I turned it in, but it's been awhile.  Just tried on "so what's for dinner" so I could go back a page & remember what I else I wanted to say before submitting.  Hit preview and got that option & window, but message on the previous page is "page does not exist".  With so much chemo brain on this site, it would really be useful if we could get this fixed so we could remind ourselves what's going on.

Just tried it here too by clicking 54 once I'm in the preview pane.  No go - "the page you are looking for does not exist"

Thanks Mods.  Maybe you can put a star for emphasis since this has been happening ever since your last upgrade.

I'm getting really annoyed by these constant "bump" bombings always cluttering up ACTIVE TOPICS. Not a glitch, I know, but it's making coming here increasingly unpleasant.

Leggo, we will be adding it to the new list of Rules soon. Thanks.

Thanks, but after further consideration, it was just an irritant I could easily ignore, so I shouldn't have brought it up. Hence, I deleted my post.

Especially frequent in the "Private Messages" section, but also happening when moving from one post or topic to another......I'm getting the "cannot connect to network" message and have to re-enter BCO. In the PM section, it happens every time I hit send, when replying to a message.

Nihahi, thanks for letting us know. For how long have you been experiencing this problem?

Seemed to start last night, but I wasn't on the boards during the daytime yesterday.

edited to add: Happened just now when I tried to send this reply. When I then hit the "back arrow" to get back here, got a message that the page "doesn't exist".....I'll try submitting again.

Logged in or out, I keep getting a message of "no posts matched your search" for keyword and member name searches. The search function worked earlier this a.m.

Just checked again to make sure it wasn't just something I was typing and now posts made in the last twenty minutes or so are the only ones showing up in the search function. Maybe a good sign and it will be back to normal in time?

I too find the search option isn't operating correctly.  I just did a search using 'port' as the keyword and only 2 pages came up.

It's been a longtime since C4C and I have complained about the inability to post pics from our Macs.  Yes, occasionally I can get one to post, but after 20 attempts.  Mostly, it doesn't work at all.  There is no rhyme or reason to it - totally random.  Also, cannot cut and paste into BCO (from an outside source into BCO or from BCO to another part of BCO).  This is extremely frustrating.  This problem came with the same change that caused my inability to post pictures.

Have you guys just given up on these items?  P.S. I've given you all the info in the past, OS, Safari version, etc..

    QuinnCat,

The bug you'd originally reported is still in our technical glitches queue, waiting on the time and budget to be able to work on it. We've just entered your updated complaint to the report ticket, and hope we can get an update on where this issue stands. We'll keep you posted!

    Quinn,

I just got a picture to load here, and am also on a mac. I am running Mavericks and used Safari for the upload. Am also able to copy paste. Might be the OS or browser version.

    I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.6.8

    Safari Version 5.1.10

    What is Mavericks?

Mavericks is the 10.9 series. It is the latest free version from Apple. I will try to test with 10.6. I have one machine running that OS series.

We did play around, and had no problem uploading a link, or choosing a file. We are using a Mac, Safari version 7.0.5.

Could you try with this version of Safari? However, if it still doesn't work, we will push that item with our tech team this week.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.
