Seem to recall that 18 year olds were not allowed on the forum. Maybe they are trying to tell you and I something Beesie?
-
Serenitystat's age explains her wisdom and Beesie you are way wise beyond your years. How did you learn so much about breast cancer in your teens.
I'm still immature.
-
Dried plums, aloe, and seaweed. That's the secret. I only feel a century old with hardly any gray hairs. 😉
-
Lately in the news, the CEOs of Disney and Starbucks have made their feelings known about their companies issues. While BCO is way smaller, no one seems to heard anything from here. Wonder why? The almighty $$ again?
-
Thanks Serenity, Beesie, and Alice for the best laugh of the day! Sometimes you have to laugh in the middle of a mess! Serenity, 602!!! You haven't aged a bit!! I've never filled out most of my profile so it's not messed up, just my diagnosis lines. I'm still ageless! I like your tagline quote but notice little boxes of missing information. Is that on all OS or just because of the updates?--I'm on a PC--here's what I see-- 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ . . . . . "Do not overlook the little joys!" (Hesse, 1905) 🐶☕️🛀🖼🥐🌲🎭 Dx. I notice this in other threads also as some try to post pictures.
-
I'm glad to report that I don't have a birthday either.....I like the ageless thing! Even though I have clicked 'remove email notifications' on all my favorite threads, I am still getting email notifications......which isn't the biggest problem around here, but annoying to me never-the-less.
-
Wanna know how slow this mess is? Once I get logged on and I finally get to choose "my favorites", I can then take a break and go to the bathroom. Hey, my favorites are coming up as I return. So I click on one thread and I can then go into the kitchen & make a gin & tonic. Hmmm, that thread is just opening as I come back. Finished with one & want to read another... It's back to "My Favorites" to hang there for awhile, then pick a thread & hang there. Oh - maybe (I'll go get some crackers & cheese?? Let's not even discuss advancing page within a thread. Really BCO - get a grip.
-
ceanna - It’s the aloe, the plant of immortality! 😉 The glitch I reported is in the details for other posters. I deleted all my details and only use the signature setting. The first 2 emoji doesn’t look right in a post though. That’s a new problem.
-
I too, want to thank so many of you ladies above for a great laugh! This is a difficult and serious situation, but it is so nice to have that humor break. Keep those jokes coming!
-
I have to go see how old I am!
I haven't even tried to change my diagnosis or anything else in that area.
Minus, lol on the gin and tonic.....make it two!
Edited to add, my birthday is right .
However, it shows "show other member avitars" as OFF. But I can see them!
-
My birthday is only a day off. It would have been nice if they'd made me younger, not older. Or an ageless sage like Serenity.
MinusTwo, since the glitches aren't being resolved, maybe we can turn this thread into a "Mini tasks to accomplish while waiting for pages to load." Maybe I'll finally tackle "War and Peace."
-
LOL!! Everyone is on a roll today! Love the idea of tackling tasks while waiting and maybe reading "War and Peace!! We could get a big food or alcohol addiction with all this waiting, so reading is a great idea!
Serenity, when you posted a reply, the icons showed in the thread post but still didn't below in your signature line. Is that a problem with my browser or something with this site? Here is what I see from that post:
-
Not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure that I never entered my birthday. It's a long time since I joined and a few years since I last updated my profile, so I can't be certain, but as a general rule I never enter my birthday on any website/registration. In my case then, I don't think that the system is changing my info, but it's putting info in where there was none before.
There doesn't appear to be any consistency in where the birthdate screw-ups are.
If I'm 18 again, does that mean that I've never had breast cancer? I'm soooooo confused.
-
I don't think I dare try the gin & tonic cure for being annoyed. I'd soon be looking for the Alcoholics Anonymous website!
-
ceanna - What device/browser do you use? I usually see the emojis that people use on iPad, iPhone, and Android . The emojis available on BCO are limited and extra large.
Beesie - I actually set my birthdate because when I was editing my signature, it automatically set my birthdate (can't remember to which date) with no button to reset. So I picked a ridiculously wrong date (and it was 4/20). 🤭
Minus, ruth - mmm, G&T
-
with lime AND green olives for me......
-
Where else can we go??? I am so sad, they have damaged such a vital and wonderful place to visit. I still don't know why, what did they need or want to accomplish. Bessie, where do we go now?
-
Serenity, I'm using a PC laptop and Edge browser. I always saw emojis until just recently--even after March 1. Thanks in advance for any insight.
-
ceanna - If you were able to see the emojis until recently, I suspect an update to Edge might be the issue. Do you have another browser to test? If it’s only Edge with the problem, I would just wait for the next update.
Mods - I know we asked you to let us know when you’re working on the site, but getting the “work in progress” pop up each time we change to another topic is not helpful. Do you plan to keep it this way for months until you’ve migrated to another platform?
-
Serenity, thanks, the Edge browser was the problem. I tried in Chrome and could see the emojis. I like using Edge because I can set to delete my cache when I exit the browser. I'll watch for the next Edge update and hope they fix.
Mods, I agree with Serenity that the "work in progress" message as I move from thread to thread is unnecessary. I'm glad to see that BCO has finally removed the pop up for the "fresh, new look" video every time I log out. Also, I am finding that some of the threads suddenly jump to an extra wide format--that make me need to scroll side-to-side to read each line. Doesn't seem the text wrapping works consistently on each page.
-
Thanks for flagging the text wrapping, ceanna. We'll make sure our tech team is aware!
-
Mods, I see the same issue as ceanna on the threads with some jumping to extra wide margins.
Work in Progress comes up every time I change threads on my iPad. On my computer, some days it doesn’t happen, other days the message comes up for some not others.
I’ve been exploring the site and really don’t see an improvement. More clicks that’s for sure. It really isn’t user friendly. The myriad pharmaceutical ads are even more annoying than they were before
Please get rid of the are you sure you want to log it. What an unnecessary question. One of these days when I get that message and have to click on it I may never come back.
-
The following has been removed by the Upgrade Glitch from the bottom of my posts.

Note to self:
I don't have to take this day all at once, but rather, one step, one breath, one moment at a time. I am only one person. Things will get done when they get done.

Edited by Mods to remove additional line characters (-----) to improve text wrap and eliminate horizontal scrolling.

I reported (weeks and weeks ago, has it been months?) that my avatar photo is distorted on certain pages and not on others. It is ok in community, but distorted on the "learn" and "about me" pages.
This was fixed for some weeks and now is a problem again.
-
The scrolling sideways adds to the 2 month clown show.
-
The "too wide" format seems to appear only on pages where a member has added a graphic like the third post on this page. Doesn't appear to be text wrapping, but graphic size width.
We are now over 8 weeks into this mess. When, oh when, are we going to see improvement?
-
Alice - LOVE it. If not War & Peace - maybe James Clavell's Shogun? I've taken to bring a magazine or the morning newspaper with me to my desktop before I ever log on. Tonight I looked at the grocery adverts & made my weekly list. Sounds like the shark from JAWS....da da da da, da da da da (you supply the 'tune')
-
That's really helpful Ceanna, thank you!
-
Mods - I cannot get to, or even find my diagnosis/treatments, it wants me start all over again.
-
Serendipity, did you remove your diagnosis info? We're not seeing it on your profile, we do see your treatment info, however. We know the profile issues continue to be worked on, we'll flag our team to confirm if this dx issue is included.
