Since I have not been to other reunions, is there a finalized list of activities and people to contact for more info or to coordinate cab, walking, etc? Anyone staying at Bally's and arriving 11 am - ish to share a taxi to the hotel? PM me.
-
Hi GramE, look back on page 18 ...Gbusse posted a "schedule" on 8/27. As for taxis and walking and such ...I think that maybe done more on the fly. I know this seems weird and kind of loose but trust me it does work out! (this from a woman who try's to plan out everything!) Since you are staying at another hotel just be sure to get the phone card from EStepp at the meet n greet and feel free to call your sisters if you have questions.
Old timers we need to remember that the newbies need to be swept up and included! Never alone! -
Thanks Journey. I found it and printed out. I too like to have a plan...
-
Oh heck I am not packing for Vegas yet. Am in Dallas right now and heading to Houston at noon. Then to Cedar Creek Lake, back to Dallas - back home for 2 days before Vegas. I did find a dress to wear with flat sandles for dancing Friday night. I tried on heels and nothing felt right. Guess I have been out of the corporate work field for way too long. I can't believe I use to wear CFM heels!!!
Won't be able to check in again until late Sunday night. Heymoose - I will call you when I have a more definate time of coming into Vegas. I thought DH and I would leave on Tuesday and stay in St. George and then drive in on Wed but now he is talking about doing the drive on Wed - we would leave early but it is still a 7 hour drive. I have the phone cards from the past three years so unless your cell phone number changed - I still have it.
Now all I have to do is to remember to bring it!!! I left my cell phone in Utah and my dh ended up sending it to me via Fed Ex. I am not expected to remember this crap when I get up at 6:30 am!!
-
Thanks Estepp. Jancie my cell no. is the same. GramE i sent you a pm.
I am getting so excited to meet all the newbies and to see all the old timers.
VEGAS is just around the corner. VEGAS here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs, Cheryl
-
YES GRAME.......... it really goes smooth...:)
You now have the itinerary I see from above..... and Gretchen is right on... I will pass out our CELL CARDS at the meet and great Friday night. If you hook up with me earlier... I will give yours to you.. If you just show up... at all the events.... we will ALL show up too...LOL...LOL....
Once in Vegas... we connect and it falls into place. I am more than happy to give any new sister my cell phone number. I will land in Vegas THURSDAY... at like 8am..... UGGGGGG.....
.......... so I can be reached by cell from that point on. If you want my number... PM me... and I will get it to you.
I don't mind being the " safe place" for new sisters..:)
ALSO....... if any new sister wants to call me... WEDNESDAY, Sept. 26th... I will be home... off work.... packing and such.... I can go over any questions you might have.Truly, you will be amazed at how this trip and the events planned, run like a NON PROFIT... SOMEHOW.... it all works... smoothly.... with 50+ of us....:) 4 years running...

It is sort of amazing when you think about it... It's impressive but then again, we're all impressive so why shouldn't it be? Judy
-
HeyMoose! I can help you with spelling...Plantar Fasciitis. How do I know that? Because I have the exact same thing and have had it for about 4 weeks. I will be wearing some very safe and practical, supportive shoe as well

Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Facecrafter--are you staying with Kristina and I on Monday night? We're happy to have you!
Seattle ladies---when is everyone heading out? Kristina and I leave Seattle on Friday in the morning. Anyone else?
Tracy
-
Hi Tracy,
I leave Thursday afternoon and will be staying the night with a cousin that lives in Vegas. Thinking I'll get to the hotel early afternoon on Friday. Nicole doesn't get in 'till around 9pm or so. I'll PM you my cell number.
I'm SO looking forward to this!! I've kind of started a little packing already and even have new luggage! Woo hoo!!
Shelly

Thanks for the info Gisella as I now have titanium rods, plates and bolts in me too!! Was a little worried but the doctor told me they won't set off the metal detectors. Can't wait tatas - and welcome to all the newbies!!
-
My sister has titanium rod, plate and bolts in her ankle and has never set off a detector.
My husband has been crippled by plantar fasciitis, going on 8 years. DON'T DO THE SURGERY!!! He had 3 surgeries on each foot and is now using an electric scooter to get around. He can walk but the pain is constant and crippling. Shock wave therapy gave him releif, orthotics in his shoes help. But, his pain is constant and severe due to the failed surgeries. Take care of your feet before they get that bad. He did not. He powered through pain for a couple of YEARS before he saw a doctor.
-
Hi there everyone..No, I won't be staying with you and Kristina on Monday night. I decided to have a day to myself (to gamble, massage, etc) because I never get time to myself!! Thanks so much for the offer. (and I am so sorry about the Plantar fascitis
it hurts) I'll see you there!! Soon!! Very soon!! I'm so excited!!
Judy
-
Tracy, thanks for the correct spelling. I have had this for about 8-9 weeks and it is not getting any better. Podiatrist padded my sneaker and said to stay off my feet, yeah right! GP has ordered Pysical therapy, so now I am trying that. Just started, I hope it works soon.
So a very strange thing happened to me the last time I flew. I went through the scanner and they pulled me aside because my breast implants showed up and were very dark. They patted me down around my chest area. I should have had my implant cards with me. I will now travel with them when I fly. This never happended before and I was very surprised.
I am getting very excited about Vegas. My mom is already packing, she is too cute. She keeps telling me every year that this is her last year to join us, I keep telling her she is crazy. So, I will be pushing her for next year.
Hugs, Cheryl
-
Cheryl, thanks for the info about the implants....trying to find my implant card to take with me....I always like to be prepared.
Have you tried the Strausburg sock for plantar fas?....I had it one time from running and I used the sock at night and mine got better. I don't know if the spelling is correct but if you google it I am sure it will come up.
-
Cheryl I bet your mom has been shopping to prepare. I hope when I her age I still shop at VS.. She is a cutie thats for sure!
-

Wahoooooooooo sista's....it is almost OUR time!!!!!!!!
-
Starting my packing list, and getting more and more excited! Well, not stoked about how early I have to get up that Thursday to drive to the airport....but it's all worth it!!! Happy weekend all!
-
You may have to put up with a few pictures of my new grand daughter. Grandmas reserve the right to brag a bit ... Wahoooooooooooooo. Gotta find some comfy shoes or sandals between now and then. DSW here I come...
If anyone is looking for a boa, you might try the fabric store or Michaels craft store. They sell by the inch/yard. Hugs, Nancy
-
OMG I love grandbaby pictures. I have a few of my own.
The most comfortable sandal type shoes I own are my CROCS. Seriously, I have 4 pairs and I wear them to the zoo and such when I do a lot of walking. They are easier on my feet than my sneakers! Virtually all are $40 each pair on their website and will be delivered within the week. Some actually have some style, too.
Packing list: uh, what am I supposed to bring that I don't know about?
-

shechirpie, we have tata t-shirts they say viva las TaTas. they are black either tanks or tees. if you dont have one you can get one (I think) or get any shirt (black) with something about breast cancer on it. It is for the sat nite piano bar.
Someone else will have to tell you where to get one....LILAH? ANYONE?
Other than that, bring comfortable shoes for walking-- things look close and they are NOT!
Be comfortable. and Get Ready to Party!! And just have fun!! Judy -
The Viva Las Tatas t-shirts from Savethetatas.com is no longer offered... but they have a variety of other tees... including one that is a "Bling" tee that says "Save the Tatas" and which a lot of sisters bought and wore last year (the Viva t-shirt was discontinued two years ago).
Here's a link:
http://www.savethetatas.com/hers.htmlScroll to the bottom of the page to see the "bling" tee and click on that thumbnail.
Sending you all hugs! Drink a shot for me when you are at the Piano Bar! Represent!
-
Judy is right about things looking closer than they are....me, Gretchen and Joyce were going to a mall close to Treasure Island and we could see Treasure Island at a distance but thought it was close enough to walk....NOT!....but we got in a good walk that day.
-
I have the Save The Ta Ta's bling tank.
I have spent more time in Vegas than I care to admit, so I am fully aware of the walking involved and how far things are. BEFORE I was aware, my husband and I walked from the Luxor to the Stratospher (we took a taxi back)
I also am aware, and want to warn others, that the DRY (ha ha) heat is brutal.
I was just kidding about 'what else do I pack'....lol. Sorry, I was looking for whether there was something special, like pink tutu's or tiara's or boa's or some weird stuff.
-
spent the afternoon picking out clothes to wear to each activity...got them all layed out ready to pack....just haven't decided on shoes for Freemont St/Bellagio....lot of walking at Freemont so need walking shoes....I am sure there will be changes before I actually pack LOL...
