I sure hope I can make the next one, looks like you all had a great time!!!! -
Hope all you Northwest Ladies are riding out the storm. We still have 9 inches of snow on the ground. At least most drivers are being cautious. Stay warm and safe. -
Ice here, just a dusting of snow---but burrrrrrr! Cold with a stiff breeze.
-
I was lucky.....it hit the evening after I had my last recon surgery..........still very, very cold! -
Hope everyone is thawing out - we aren't yet. Good views though as long as I'm not outsideback yard view. We are warming up! Might be able to get down the hill this afternoon when things start thawing out. Snowed-in, starting to get creative because I'm to running out of my breakfast smoothie ingredients. 19 degrees this morning. We are warmer than the 8 degrees yesterday.
-
Beautiful! But by now I would really want to be able to go somewhere. In Alaska cabin fever can be used in a murder defense. -
The view from our front windows is beautiful at any time but spectacular today. The canal in front of our property has iced over and has a layer of snow. The trees and shrubs in our yard and accross the way are covered. We rarely get snow here---1/2 a mile from the beach.
-
we fairly good here but my daughter is supposed to take her friend to seattle to virginia mason in the early morning for her chemo treatment. we're hoping the bad ice storm doesn't hit while they're on the road. -
Hope they have clear roads and light traffic.
-
DH drove me down the hill to get meds, mail and groceries. We made it back up just before everything froze again- Still have snow this morning, but hopefully the rain tomorrow will get rid of it and not ice over.
We had a beautiful sunset last night. Still too cold to sit on the porch and watch it. I suspect a very cold winter this year. It will be great for my cherry trees but not so great for my body. -
I HATE the cold!!! Hubby started the fireplace, and he's keeping the place really nice and toasty. Keeps my aches and pains at bay. I started looking for tickets to Hawaii this morning, though.... -
Chabba-- We also live on one of the canals, and it was Sooo beautiful to wake up yesterday to see it covered with snow. This morning it looked thawed but then we saw the geese walking on the water and realized only the snow had melted and they were strolling on the submerged ice. It was quite a sight. -
A retreat place for all: http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/102/topic/815825 - feel free to contribute peaceful pictures. -
Hi ladies -
Another NorthWesterner here. I live just south of Portland, in the Canby area. I'll have to check in here sometimes, as well as in the above posted "retreat" thread. Love the pictures -- I'm an amateur photographer so might contribute a few at some point. Anyway, nice to "meet" you all. :-)
-
Welcome Nyama. We've managed one get together, so stay tuned. We might be able to do something next summer.
-
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year full of peace and good times.
-
Welcome Nyama!
I have been to Canby many time to show my Boston Terriers at the AKC dog show (don't show them anymore).....I love the country and farms in that area
Lots of antique shops too....but with dogs with me, I never found the chance to explore the antique shops.
BC.org was a place I thought I would never be.....but we are a sisterhood, with a few brother, but we have all been touch by that nasty "C "....you will find a lot of support here. This past fall we had a meet up in Olympia and next time we all meet up, talk was we would meet in Oregon.
hugs,
Di

Or perhaps we could meet in the spring.
-
Another new Pacific NW gal here. I hail from Hillsboro, OR, which is just west of Portland. One of these days I'll have to figure out how to post photos so I can contribute to the "Retreat" thread, as we live up on a peak with a beautiful view, when it's not all gray and cloudy!
-
Welcome, Monis.
We will really need to plan on another get together this spring.
-
Welcome Monis, My DS and his wife live in Beaverton and my Daughter, SIL and Grandson's live in Battleground, WA. I am going and working from my DD home in the middle of this month. I need to watch the Grandsons for them so they can have a night out.
As far as pictures. I use the ones I have put online, right-click on the picture press "copy picture url" and then come and press the mountain landscape square on the "post reply", press link - right-click and paste. Then submit. Hope that made sense.
-
We're having quite a storm here-rain, wind and thunder. Hope all you NW ladies are staying safe and dry.
-
Thanks, Julianna. It's making for a great Seahawks game!
-
It is a great game but I'm glad I'm watching it on TV!
-
I'm in Thurston County and it has been windy and pouring down rain a lot of today. I woke up at 4:30 AM and the electricity was out. I woke up again at 6 or 6:30 and it was back on. Some of my appliances beep when they get plugged in. I wonder if they made noises when the power came back on and that's what woke me.
-
Super strong winds here and lots of rain, but haven't had any thunder. Our roads look like war zones, with tree debris all over the place. It's simply amazing, watching all the old fir trees bending in the wind, that more of them don't come crashing down. Glad none of them aren't too close to the house!
-
Who is ready for the snow and ice in the next 3 days?
-
Not me, but I'll deal. How are you feeling GmaF?
-
Of the gabapentin completely, no nausea or dizzy anymore but pain is back. Talked to the pain doc and he gave me some Tylenol #4s being the #3s were helping a bit. I had bad reaction to nortriptyline 25mg. knocked me out for 3 days. He gave me some 10mg ones but is thinking to try that only if the Tylenol #4 doesn't work.
-
I'm glad (?) you are only having to deal with the pain now. Hope the tylenol #4 work. Take care.
