I just wanted to reply that your post is beautifully written, brought me to tears, and makes me realize that I am not alone.  So many of us out there feel just what your words convey.  The sadness of losing a much simpler time of our lives, that can never be completely regained no matter how many years may pass.  We have lost the innocence of our youth way too early (you much earlier than me).   I hope for all of us, a return to a more normal life where we can let down our guard and try to fully appreciate each day and not worry about the next day, week, month, year or decade.  I wish us all peace.
