Here's what cheezed me off today

apple, I can only hope this was some time ago. I'm so on chemo edge right now I'm thrilled my 9 year old has been an angel ;-). No one wants to be in mommy's war path this week ;-)
Janice, OMG! Sounds like the vacation from hell right there. Can't imagine the hotel would have picked up the bill either. Just told my hubby to make sure our closet door is closed. Two cats, two wigs.... Don't want them thinking I bought them some new toys!
coraleliz, you were WAY kinder then lots of us would be. With my mouth these days, I think I may have asked her if she really wanted a good look, the locker room was available for a view. I can't imagine she started to lecture you! What a twit! My guess is she was a tad jealous of your nice figure and even without breasts you were looking to good for her comfort ;-).
Nips up, carry on! Hey rohanna... you chirped, we chimed.
-
Thanks, fellow Crickets!!! Have an awesome week!

I don't post here often , but it's on my favs. I love the way you gals take care of each other. You always hit the mark on what the problem is/was. I won't remark on everyone , but thinking of you all as I pass this way. The pic of Betty White-------I so hope I can remember that line. She is really quite raucous. In a similar vein as Mae West. Here's to a great old gal.----(toasting the screen), Betty keep them coming-----literally.

Rockym & Rohanna: Still laughing from page 7. If you look at the number of posts and then the number of views I think you'll see that there are a lot of us serial lurkers. I haven't been here for a while and just loved reading everything.
So Hubby and I take a weekend off at a local well known hotel. We were on the top floor. It was Quiet ! Put the do not disturb sign out. Next morning at 7:45 the maid knocks on the door and of course we we both dead asleep and then she walks in and see's us and says sorry and leaves. WTF. We were both exhausted and cranky to say the least. Can't get a good nights sleep any where.
Nips Up. Carry On. !

Chirp...chirp..chirp... Nips up. Carry on!

Okay, I'll bite. Here's what cheezed me off today. As I'm sitting here in front of the computer I had an epiphany... I'm bored as hell. Not just bored at this moment but bored as hell in general about EVERYTHING. I'm not depressed, I'm not angry, I'M BORRRED. I love my husband, my house, my dog, my cat, my family, my friends but my life is so f'ing boring I can hardly stand it anymore. I've been working so hard trying to get "back to normal" that I forgot that normal isn't very damned exciting. The real problem is. I don't know how to make my life not so damn boring and even if I did I probably can't afford to change it because I'm broke as a joke. Suggestions are welcome. Talk amongst yourselves, I'll listen to your comments off the air.
Nip up (I only have one and it's fake) Carry on!
-
boy this is a good thread.. i was all ready to quit my 'job' last nite but the 'director' was a real sweetheart.. she's had breast cancer too and i have to remind myself she is on drugs too.
so what is normal 2new4dee? what did you do.. what do you like.. i am not going to suggest needlepoint or anything without having a feel for your persona.

Hi Apple, That's a good question. I work a full time job 5, sometimes 6 days a week. I come home every evening and make dinner for me and my husband. I go for a walk each night for 3 miles, then I come home and either watch some t.v. or get on the computer for awhile and then I go to sleep. My husband and I play trivia with a group of friends at our local Pub on Thursday nights. I play softball on a co-ed league on Sunday nights and Sunday day is reserved for watching NFL football all day long.(LOVES me some football!) I enjoy all of these things immensely but I think I'm in a rut. Actually, as I write out my weekly schedule, it sounds awfully boring so maybe it really is.
Nip up, carry on!
-
2New4Dee, I'm a stay at home mom and have found myself in the same rut as you over the years. Usually, I have to step back and think about what the heck is going to make me happy. I like to be productive, I like to work, I like to think/learn and I like to help others.
Since you are working full-time, that leaves little time for some hobbies and fun, but I know that one of the best things I do is volunteer. I did this a lot in my kid's school, but when I found that the group of ladies just weren't my cup of tea, I didn't just suck it up... I found another place to help where my time was truly valued and appreciated. I now volunteer at the local library 2 times a week (when I am healthy) and it is a win-win. I get to use my brain, my organizational skills get a healthy outlet instead of OCDing my house :-) and the library staff/city really appreciate the work I do. Nice to get out of the boredom and into something where you can feel valued.
Maybe you can keep up the walking (which is way healthy), but cut back on the softball and do some volunteer work. You can goggle volunteer positions in your area. Helping kids read, working with the aging, showing people to their seats at your local concert hall are just a few of the things that I bet this would take you right out of your world of boredom. I know it worked for me!
Nips up (I have them both) carry on!
-
I'm cheezed off when... you take the effing time to post about your own experience and give your 2 cents on someone's circumstances on BCO and the person does not acknowledge that you even said anything to them... Chirp effing Chirp!
-
Rockym - happens to me all the time ;(
Chirp!
-
Calm down with the chirpin Rockym... I just told you in my last post that I go to the pub and play trivia (and drink a little) on Thursday nights. I can't play on BCO during work and literally have to race home from work to change into some comfortable clothes to go to the bar.
I like your suggestion about that volunteering but I'm not sure I have enough free time to commit. I commute 45 minutes to work each way. I leave the house at 8:30 in the morning and get home around 7 at night. I'm not sure if I'm physically bored (I have tons of stuff to do or that needs to be done), maybe I'm mentally bored from going so strong and so fast for the last 2 1/2 years with surgeries, chemo, etc. that now that that part is over I just don't know how to relax and let my guard down. I feel like I should be doing so much more with my life but I'm still just me.
p.s. I can't give up my softball. It's the only time I get to hit things with a bat and not go to jail. It's good therapy.
-
2new4Dee, that chirp wasn't for you :-( I wouldn't ever bitch about any of our buddies in the "cheezed group." Oh how funny... never expected anyone here to figure it was them I was talking about. Totally different thread. Now I feel silly.
Sorry for the misunderstanding... :-(
-
Don't feel bad, I'm the silly one. You took the time to form a well thought out response and then I don't even log back in to the discussion for 14 hours. If you had been calling me out I would have deserved it. We're good sister. You can't possibly know me well enough to know that the world revolves around me (in my little mind). LOL
-
Hi all! Just wanted to take a moment to say that I rarely have the time or energy to even come to this board, but when I do, even if I don't post, it's this particular thread that cheers me up and cheers me on! Thanks to everyone that helps to turn the lemons into lemonade for all of us!!!!
Janice -
2new4Dee, so... WWFT (what would Freud think) ;-). In my experience, anytime I tackle some tough stuff I get very "on" and handle everything to a tee. All my senses are heightened and I'm in the zone, but when the dust settles... there is always a down. I think I've read about women getting depressed (or bored) not so much from having cancer and the treatment, but from the end of all this. They say we are not sure what the hell to do with ourselves and how to get back on with life.
So, all my crickets... let us not be the ones to fall pray to that slope. Dee, you sound like you actually don't have time to change much. Maybe if you pick one thing to do different. Let's see... Arizona... weather is finally cooling off in the mornings...you do have Saturdays... hike South Mountain? Or like I mentioned before, you could volunteer at either the library or hospice or something of the sort. Even if you do it only one or two days a month, I bet that would open up a ton of new experiences/people in your life... just a thought.
-
Hello, ladies! Sorry to have been gone so long but I was under the weather for a while. Feeling better now. I was feeling bored too so I joined a gym. What was I thinking????? Anyway, the first day I went, I was on the treadmill and had a strange feeling I was being watched. Turned around and a guy was watching my butt! Unfortunately, he was about 90 years old so he'd probably watch any butt that was in his line of sight. Oh well, I decided to take it for what it is! He probably thought it was 2 bowling balls rolling downhill! HA!
-
that reminds me of my straight male friend who took ballet and danced in the back of the room for the view.
-
Hi rohanna-
Thanks for cracking me up! I will not be able to read this after surgery ... it's going to hurt too much!
~LA
Will be Nip-less, carry on!
-
I had a very large, scary homeless man come up to me in a convenience store 2 days ago and he told me, "You look very beautiful today! I just had to come over and tell you that." I told him "Thank you, you're very sweet to say so." Then I got the hell out of there because I didn't have any spare change or a cigarette to give him and I knew that was gonna be the next thing out of his mouth. A creepy compliment is still a compliment none the less.

Hi~
I'm trying to clean/clear my laptop area ... came across a note from a magazine ... Dear Subscriber: ... This edition is so big (I didn't notice) in fact, that we are treating it as a special issue that will count toward two of you subscriber issues ... And also a Last Issue Notice with ***YOU HAVE EXPIRED***. OK, I am done with that mag. I guess they need some vacation time.
Last night, while having a conversation with the husband ... I guess I was talking and he was staring at my head. Out of his mouth came ... you look like that Magnetic guy toy.

Well, that's good ... my hair is growing back and you still will be bald. My last chemo was 9/1.

I think we're twins! I even have the blue eyes!

Finally, a place where one can bitch about the little annoyances that don't mean much in the grand scheme of life, but still, why do people act like such morons!
My best example for this week is the ladies room at the movies (could be any publc place). I go in behind the lady that's just come out...dressed to the hilt...and she's sprinkled all over the toilet seat and hasn't bothered to clean it up...so worried about getting germs, but pee on the seat and leave it for the next person! I guess her pee doesn't have germs! Anyway, I couldn't help myself...I made a big production of coming out of the stall and entering the next one while commenting loudly that "some people are just such pigs and can't clean up after themselves"! I knew she was there washing her hands, and hopefully she got the message! I felt better.
-
Rockym- It's the "magnetic personality" and the red nose that must of reminded him it looks like me. Guess what he is getting for Christmas!
Karra- In the public bathrooms here, we have disposable toilet seat covers. While on a 7,500+ mile road trip across the USA & Canada this summer ... I notice a lot of places don't have that. Yes, I find myself being Goldilocks ... looking for "just right".
~LA
-
9911: Yes we have covers in some public toilets...usually the nice hotels and department stores, but in this case it wouldn't have worked...that seat was so wet! Wasn't the first time it happened to me and it won't be the last, but at least this time I could vent...thanks for listening.
-
Kaara, I would have done the same thing! Hell, if I was in one of my cancer causing tourette's potty mouth moods, I might have even mentioned loudly, "How would that lady feel if I just pissed on her! That's almost the same as her pissing on the seat." :-)
I like to say things loudly sometimes just to let the idiot know I'm talking about her too!
Nips up, carry on!
-
You know I've always wanted to say "If you're going to pee like a man, raise the seat"!!!!
-
Hey - A complaining topic is right up my alley. Here are the little things that are driving me crazy:
1) My couchie hurts. My Gyn has retired so now I've got to spread for some new guy.
2) I need a new set of tires. Can't even make a decision.
3) Found new bumps under mast scar. Onc says he's pretty sure they are scar tissue and we'll watch them. Yea right. I've already got another appointment with somebody else.
4) Decided to move to the BIG CITY without investigating the cost. Mortgage on current home: $400 Rent on apartment in BIG CITY: $1500. Too bad i've already told everybody I was moving otherwise I would say forget it. Me and my big mouth.
Ok. That was fun.
-
Kaara, that is one of my biggest pet peeves! I did the same thing as you once, in a movie theater restroom, too. Only I was really bitchy: "Oh my gawd, did you just pee all over the seat?"
Yes, I said it, and it was a great feeling! ;-)
-
That seems to happen all the time for me - AT THE HOSPITAL! It's gotten to the point where I clean the seat every time.
Ick.
