It just takes one person to make a difference!
We went to see Magic Mike! OMD you guys, you should have BEEN there! I have never seen that kind of action in all my entire life! I mean none of that stuff was even immaginable when I was younger! and yes, the dancing?? was incredible! I was sitting there with the girls, and Sheri's friend, and I just kept hearing "Holy chit!".... Well, it really was entertaining....
!!!!
Just didn't partitularly like the part Michael Strahan played in there... I mean he is a popular talk-show host, and here he is grinding his wares in this some-what risque movie........... Oh well.... Channing Tatum, and those OTHER hunks were GREAT! Good choreography, if you're into being tossed over their shoulders, and drug incessantly over the floor, not to mention thinking to yourself "HOW do they DO that?" And wishing it was YOU!
So that's my review of THAT stuff.... My Husband just thinks Magic Mike is the story of a Magician..... HAH!!!

I always liked Joe Manganiello. He was a very cute wolfie in True Blood. Did not like his bully and pouty wolfie in season 4 but he went back to his sulking self in season 5.

ROSIE This ones for you

4. And how else would you recreate Risky Business on a boat?

5. They are truly the ideal footwear for walking upon lava flows.

6. Of course, socks and sandals are awesome with friends.

7. It's perfect when you want to wear sandals and shorts, but the weather isn't cooperating.

8. And socks with sandals are perfect for your next tour of Southeast Asia.

9. It's the best look for when you want to go to the beach but don't like the feeling of sand between your toes.

10. Or, if you really want to make a statement, you could mix and match your socks and people will be sure to notice.

11. And how else can you be smug about the fact that you are wearing toe socks?

Frenchfrye," Ooooooooooooooooh men with naked bellies." yes, FF, we never know what we will wake up to here LOL Isn't that fun :0
Mags, Glad to see you, but sorry about ESSEX. No clue why things work for me even without anything like petroleum. I haven't tried Replens sample. It shouldn't be easy, but it is. I see the Gyn doc today. I'll push him for an answer. I know it seems improbable that the DBF would be cut slack for stuff. Going to Essex several times a week, explains it. At my soon to be age of 65, I never expected that. It's nice.
Chevy, I must of been buried somewhere, never heard of Magic Mike. Definitely a chick flick
Queenie, if I get beyond this lazy stage I'm in, I'll search allergies to surgical metals. I have an allergy to Polyurethane. Found it out by some great detective work. After 4 Iv's over one year, I made a statement to the nurse putting in the 5th IV that there's was necrosis at the site in the previous 4 . She said the had changed products the previous year. I had one IV site that healed fine. That was the one done in the surgical & GI area. I checked with a girlfriend there. They used Teflon catheters. Went to an allergist to get official dx. so I wouldn't have any trouble with people discounting it. A untoward devise reaction report was sent to the FDA. I couldn't find out from the FDA if they're had been any other reports. But this is the way Latex allergy reports started back in the 80's.
Rosie, wish we could do the same for Stage Fourers. The docs do all the grading and staging and predictions on statistics. But when you look at the bio's here, there is no sense to it for some. ............ DH loved dark cherries and fresh apple cider. He never limited them when in season. Duh, I never thought of them when he was opiods.
THANKs all about Shat's tumor.
Loverly, I thought the elevator pranks were funny too, but it does take some patience. Interesting how people went along with the instructions. WE are so used to new technology and new technology screw ups, most didn't even consider a prank.
Jazzy, The jazz link you posted the other day. It finally dawned on me why I'm not fan of music with lyrics. Can't decipher the words ( shut up chevy). The one era of music I had little difficulty with was Motown of the 60's. Maybe had to do with being a Detroit gal and the music was from my teen years.
-
Sassy- there is nothing wrong with a good instrumental piece if you are not a fan of lyrics. When I have played music, that is usually what I am doing, although sometimes there are vocalists involved too.
Loveroflife- you are SO RIGHT about music being in my blood. It is something I have always loved from the time I was young. I had to decide in highschool whether to pursue work in music or something else. I chose something else because I knew it would be tough to make a living in music. Music is and always will be my first love.
And I have another concert tomorrow night at the zoo here and something on Saturday too. We have a phenomenal week of music stuff going on here and I am doing it all!
-
Oh my, can't look at those pecs and abs too long or I will commit adultery!!
#4 is so my husband's style, except at least we wears pants/shorts haha. I shall not share the that pic with him or he will be even prouder of his style.
Mag, it seems like you have been gone for weeks, not days. Saw the ear licking black cat on W&F you posted and wondered what is going on in the mind of people who find that amusing.....hmmm probably as messed up as me. Sometimes I also wonder what % of the humors/messages reflects the posters' personality or character.
Susan, hoping you are not too beaten up by the Zometa(?) .
Ms. Chevy, don't we all have the suppressed 'wild child' in us??..,unless you are Ms Sas, Marlana, and Mema.
Jazzy, I love music too, but can't play any instruments So I makemy daughters take piano lessons.
-
For all you nurses (past, present, and future)

-
And for you nurses who have tinnitus

-
-
Loved the sandals! So true here.. you will even see parents with their kids in tow - little boys in cargo shorts colored socks and sandals. Too cute. Jazzy my DH loves Elvis C. and we both love Diana. Although I about fell over when I found out she married him... she's awesome and he's.. hmm interesting. Oh well. As far as all the pecs on the guys.. I think I have been on AI's for too long. No estrogen..no interest. I see orange robed monks every so often here in town since we have Thai monastary nearby.. always startling to see the orange robes and sandals and shaved head coming out of Walmart...
There is a mildly interesting article on specialty pharmacies on the NY Times today. It's light on substance but it does address the rise of why they exist... shocking MONEY! No big Pharma motivated by money.. hard to believe. Be well!
-
OMG LOL! I am laughing so hard at those nurse pictures.
-
Loveroflife- those cartoons are funny!
And how good of you to expose your girls to the piano. My parents never really encouraged my music although they would come to my concerts through the years. I got into music in grammar school and then one of my grandmothers was the one to say "you have talent, please always share it with the world." She was my inspiration. When you learn music young, it will remain with you always.
Rose- yes about Elvis and Diana, unlikely couple but they have two young twin boys together (like age 10?) When I saw her in Aspen last summer, she was sharing funny stories about her twins that were so fun. We know these people as fabulous musicians, but we got a glimpse of Diana the mom.
Mags- I am glad to hear from you also and love the idea of a road trip along Route 66. Since I live along that route, I have often thought how fun it would be to do the whole thing. There are still many places that have the essence of Route 66 out west here. I hope to hear about your adventures and any interesting stops you do?
-
And now a little encouraging word for our friends in treatment......

-
Thank you Jazz!!
-
Stop making me lick the computer screen then switching to pictures of sandals with socks. But following the music posts with interest! I tend to like classical music within reason, though husband is a bit more wide reaching.
Sas: If you have the time and the inclination, I'd be curious about whether anyone has had a reaction to the metal of which the staples were made, rather than to simply having the things stuck in a sensitive and irritated part of your body. But as you and others have noted, a lot of things that occur in the surgical process can make you itchy.just by virtue of their existence without implying a malign effect peculiar to some few individuals (latex). And as importantly: don't squander energy you might better spend on something else. It's a short-term question for now! as i'm having the staples out next week.
-
good afternoon ladies
-
Patty- wassup? How are you feeling today?
-
Isn't Sophia Vergara going with Joe what's nis name? Figures.... He is so DANG cute!
That jury trial is finally over.... They are reading the verdict in one hour... on Fox.... Too bad it had to come to all this.... I know I shouldn't feel like this, but anyone who shoots someone else, no matter what the reason, not to mention MANY people, ruing so many families, well, they deserve the same punishment as soon as possible.
So much time and money for all the attorney's to deFEND this guy! Then it will take another year for all the appeals, etc. Is it just that I am older? I have no use for all this ridiculous defense ideas.
Same with the N.Y. bombers....guilty! Period.
Loverly, my Daughter is having such a rough time with tinnitis! She is going to call several specialists.... hoping to get some relief.... We have tried to send her info on it.... but have any of you had good results with any treatment for that? She went to her Primary Care, and she referred several, but just wondering if ANY treatment will help.....
-
Loveroflife- I saw this on Ellen today and thought of you and your girls with the piano. Watch the way she moves her hands, just like a pro. Enjoy!
-
Chevy, the reset with the vibration works pretty good for me. Is hers new? That first year was a roar. Thank dog it was never as bad as then.
Mags, no answer. It's an unknown.
Quiet today?
-
What is the purpose of BRACA if a woman knows she will not have children?
-
Spookie- your question is such a good one. They ran the BRACA on me initially, because they thought I might have an ovarian tumor at the same time I got the BS dx. It turned out to be something else. All the other genetics panels done since have been suggested because I had bilateral and that is usually genetic. There are new gene panels that have connections to other types of cancer like melanoma, pancreatic, colon. If you have the genes, you may be at risk for more than one type of cancer. Nothing has come up positive for me.
I don't have children, and I talked to my MO about how much I should disclose or not to family about my bc? He said it is the parents, aunt or uncle, sibling connections that they are most concerned about. I had an uncle who had prostate cancer. I have one sister and she has had bc too. I have one nephew who is adopted. He said beyond that circle, sharing with cousins and their families is really optional.
I told myself if any more genetics tests come up, the answer will be no. I will think about it and let them know at a later date. The only test that really seems to have helped me with the genetics stuff is the Oncotype for treatment purposes.
-
Thanks Jazzy. Wasn't asking for me. I think I mentioned my DDs room mate, the extremely obese one, has DCIS. Her lumpy is next month. She is seeing my BS. I'm not sure why she and DD were discussing this, but your answer is pretty much what I thought.
-
I have never met my half sister and don't know her married name. I've thought it would be a good thing to let her know, but have no idea how to contact her. I looked at Facebook for my half brother's name, but there were 6-7 of them. I don't even know where they live.
-
Spookie- yes, I thought you might be asking for another. Another story around BRACA. A friend of my sister's had ovarian cancer when she was in her 30s. It came back as a brain met 10 years later. They were able to treat her successfully both times, and she is now in her mid 60s. She is of Jewish heritage and when DCIS showed up last year, her doctors recommended she do the BRACA test to help determine what the best treatment options might be. She came up positive. Several doctors recommended bilateral mastectomy, another said lumpectomy to remove the DCIS. She chose the later and had the surgery last fall and okay so far. She has no children, but there may be others in the family that need to know. I think they are pushing the genetics tests more these days.
-
(following the BRCA thread with interest)
(also trying to wear myself out after a visit with the MO today)
-
Queenie, How did the visit go?
-

Hey y'all
just popping in to let you know i am alive. heading out of town this weekend to visit my parents finally, and will have some time to sit and read and chat when i get there.
love you all!

Ms. Chevy, I have not tried any meds yet for the tinnitus. Mine comes and goes,it seems. It doesn't bother me as much now possibly because I have learned to ignore or live with it. I find that it's worse when I don't get enough sleep. How long has she had it?
Ms. Sas, where do you put the vib ( I am afraid to spell it out because some people might get the wrong idea haha)? Mastoid bone?
Jazzy, thanks for the video. The kid is a prodigy and a character. The future Chopin.
