Good to be back!
-
You see, I didn't even comment on "Tower"..... Because I was afraid of thinking, "Oh no, do I have to go back and read X amount of pages to see what I missed?" So I just let it slide by..........
Going to see Ms. Theresa today... We talk every night, and we just make each other laugh~ I think the years of caring for Eddie, and all the worries and responsibilities of keeping their home up and running really wore her down... But now she is living a happier life, without all the turmoil and sadness she was feeling for many years.........
So she sounds completely different now, and enjoying her "new life!" .... SHE didn't say that, but I did... She is even welcoming a new lady across the hall from her... This "new" lady is actually my Daughter's friend's Mother!
We used to kind of dread visiting Theresa and Eddie when things were on the down-hill slide, but every thing changes....... So now things are happy again........ She still misses him, and has her moments, but a sweeter-happier little gal is fun to visit now!
Morning Loverly! You know, I go to GOOGLE IMAGES.... and type in ANIMATED PICTURES, or anything ANIMATED... And sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't and drives me crazy.....
But sometimes you have to "click" on LOTS to find one that moves...

And when you see one that DOES move, you R. click, and click "copy image" and then bring it back here to "paste" it in... Just R. click to paste.... But I would STILL like to find a site where they all actually work....
-
I don't know of any other way to get animated images.... does anyone else? I just go here:
And type in Animated scenes, or Sparkly pictures..... and sometimes it works...
Except I might add.... I can't get ANYTHING to work with AOL browser.... I have to open Chrome, or Internet Explorer, and THEN do this...
-
Chevy, I am on an I pad. I can do pics, but I dont think moving ones. I don't have a computer. Hubby has a lap top, but I don't use it. For all those on I pads, don't think we can do as much.
Sas...sweet home Chicago
Have a great Monday .
Hope everyone's storms get calmer
-
looking like we might get rain today.
-
I hope you all had a nice weekend. My hubby bought me a diaper bag for my chemo bag.............................................
I do love it..it has monkeys all over it with little compartments. I will take a pic of it later when I get motivated.
-
wow. I took a little time off bco. Things haven't been going as planned. Crazy migraine , nausea, vomiting , big d, achy everywhere. I haven't even thought about um ...Essex. But lots of good ideas here. You guys make me laugh so hard. I kinda like the only black socks on. I am blushing.
-
Just kicking back and enjoying the rest of my day. After today, hubby will be off for the rest of the week. We will have been married 11 years on Friday!
-
Patty- sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. Are things better today or still slogging through the crud?
I went to the dentist for a check up today and found out I have a tooth with an eroding filling and cracks 3 side around it in the tooth. Ugh. So I am getting it crowned on the 23rd when I am back from my biz travels. I just got a refund for a writing retreat I signed up for next month that was cancelled and thought "whoo wee, money back." But the crown will take that and then some. I guess the universe had plans for my refund!
-
I'm sorry Jazzy.... with MY teeth, which were always so bad, I just had to have a plate for the top years ago.... And I still have enough on the bottom to be able to chew alright, but if anything goes wrong with those, I'll just get another plate.... It must be soooooo nice to have your own teeth.... although my "play-teeth" are much prettier than my real ones.... And fit perfectly.
You know, we went to see Theresa this morning.... BUT when we got there, there were about 6 or 7 Police cars, 3 Fire Trucks, and 2 ambulances! I thought WTH did she DO???? We asked an officer at the door "If everything is okay"..... And she just said "There was an incident" but that it was all taken care of, and everyone accounted for"....
But even the desk said only "There was an incident."..... We went on up the elevator to the second floor, and saw one of the hallways was locked down....
Then Wilma, her next-door neighbor didn't know anything about it..... Went to see Theresa, and she asked what was going on? She just heard them say over the inter-com.... STAY IN YOUR ROOMS!!!
Then when we walked her to lunch, another gal said there was a shooting! And we just sort of laughed about it, because we didn't want to say anything. She said it would be on the news! THEN when we finally left, that hallway was still on lock-down, and they were towing a SUV away.... 3 police cars followed.... I'm just baffled.... I would guess that someone on the run, went IN those unlocked doors.... ???? Man, I was sort of afraid, but just told Theresa she has to hold it DOWN when she is dancing! She'll call me later, and maybe know what happened.
Haven't seen THAT much Police activity in ..... since forEVER!
Congratulations MOM2!

Chevy- I have had pretty good luck with my teeth through the years. One problematic root canaled tooth that kept getting infected, got a retrograde filling, etc. but the rest have been doing well. So I have been "overdue" in some respects. Everything else has gone to hell, but the teeth have been good.
I am going to catch this before it becomes a bigger problem (early detection with just about anything is key to less pain and money longer term!)
-
DD told me last night she needed a crown. And then I could call her Princess. I told her to get a second opinion.
-
When I get my crown, I want to be called Queen of Jazz! But that may already taken by Ella Fitzgerald......

-
Patty, you just can't catch a break. Sorry about the lack of going to Essex. Bummer. Glad you got some laughs though. I laugh about the black socks all the time. He is just so oblivious, it is sweet.
Chevy What a deal at Theresa's. Sounds awful. Let us know what happened and if there's a YouTube posting from the news.
Chevy sweetie you need to go back and read from the beginning when Patty talked about getting naked. Reason is--- if we are going to be adequately able to talk about Essex, what Tower means in regard to Mema, black socks, with all the relative freedom that innuendo allows. You have to know what the innuendo is referring to or the joke is lost. You are a master at innuendo, not sure you realize that. It's an art, that few are masters at. The rest of us need to work at it.
French Fry there were several chemo tips threads I sent you, Rock's, Smarrty's, and someone else's.
Jazzy, sorry the 'found " money, was so quickly gone again for something that isn't fun. Pooper.
-
Thanks gals, even if he drives me batty, I am so glad I had him by my side through all of this!
-
Okay fine........... but I STILL don't know what "Tower" has anything to do with anything...... But THANK YOU for the compliment, which I don't understand......... So I am an inuendoer? That's good..... probably....
I'm trying to read all the directions on HOW to sand and spray a couple spots on my lower right quarter panel, on my car! See, DH had these 2 2X4's in the garage, to keep my car from going up too far... He had them just stacked on top of each other.... So when my front tire hit it slowly, the one fell off, and my car rolled over them, and hit the paper-shredder in the garage.... It had a metal-mesh basket, and my car scraped it! So a couple spots need painted.... I just sanded them..... then I have the "primer"..... Actual paint color..... And a HIGH GLOSS EPOXY spray.... had to watch a demonstration, to see exactly how to do it.... and then wear a "mask" and has to be done OUT of the garage.....
But I can do it.... when I get up enough nerve.... Ha!
-
Thank you for the links Sas! Thanks to everyone that took the time to contribute to those threads. I know there are many of us that much appreciate all the effort it took to create those informative tips.
-
Chevy, make the hubby do it!!!!!!!!!!! lol
-
He would gladly, but the whole garage would be painted! And he wouldn't wear a mask, or read the directions.... And I love to paint.... Ha!
-
Chevy, In 1970, Mema had Essex with an airtraffic controller in the control tower while the controller was directing a plane. Blondie nicknamed her Tower. Wow, I had to be very careful with the words I used so a certain agency wouldn't want to be looking here all the time. But I'm guessing they do anyway. Can you imagine someone trying to decipher what we are talking about even when it's normal?
Yes, you are an innuendoer LOL. and as I said you are a Master.
-
Ah MAN! THANK you! I gotcha.....
-
I did it Ms, Chevy!!!

Thank you! You are right Susan. Can't do it on iphone or ipad. -
Loveroflife-how adorable is that? Mr. Owl needs to be able to check things out!
-
Frey, very sweet of your husband to get you the diaper bag haha.
Patty, all this time I thought you were having a blast. I am sorry things did not turn out the way you planned. Did you know that certain drugs can cause similar symptoms if you stop taking them abruptly? Just a thought.
Mommy, it is good to kick back and relax. My problem with down time is Iget too comfortable and then I think about retiring early. Congrats on your 11th anniversary. Hope you will have as many as Ms. Chevy.
Jazzy, no fun with crown. Will you need a root canal? Had two already. I agree that prevention is everything. I didn't have a cleaning until I was working. No money or dental insurance. By the time I was 12, I had so many cavities, it's not even funny. I am so glad neither of my girls take after by bad genes. I always remind them to take very good care of their teeth/gum because once they are bad, there is no turning back.
Ms, Chevy, what drama you had on your outing. That's scary. I am glad you and your friends are ok and they caught the person.
Ms. Sass, we should call her Master Chevy for the many talents she has.
-
Thanks.
-
Good job Sass! I don't think I could have told that story twice!

-
ahhh Patty, so sorry it isn't turning out the way you planned. Hope it turns around soon and you get at least one day to brag about

My wrapped arm is breaking out with hives and welts and all kinds of itchy stuff...go figure. Embrace the swelling I say

Hope everyone is doing something fun:
-
Loveroflife- no root canal, just something to protect the tooth from any further erosion. I remember my mother had the same thing at one point and they put a crown on it to protect it from any further problems. My parents always told me to keep up with cleanings and to stay ahead on dental problems if you can (we know that can be expensive). They had their teeth until the end, except for my mom who lost 1-2 teeth towards the end due to osteoporosis of the teeth.
I have been lucky to have inherited my fathers good teeth and have had few problems in my life, but know as we age, like everything else, our teeth wear down/out. I had one bad problem with one tooth that through the years, resulted in a root canal, crown, multiple infections, retrograde filling underneath, etc. I don't want to end up dealing with that again if I can avoid it.
I don't have dental insurance as a self employed person. It is hard to get and usually costs a lot for very little coverage. My dentists office has a program where you pay $149 a year that covers two cleanings, annual x-rays and 20% off any major dental work. I used to pay out of pocket around $160 twice a year just for the cleanings. So this plan helps, but there will be some money to pay. Fortunately, I have the money for it but also know you can do payments at this place too (most places have that now).
