INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Spookie, shame on you for making fun of our frozenness. Why, I think Chevy's fingers have frozen on to the keyboard so all she can do is type hhhhhhhhhfhhhddjjsjskkskkwkakkajdsjskkskfkff and can't even hit the submit button to let us know she is surviving. We can only hope. I confess that when the hot flashes hit I step outside to chill. The wind is nearly squall speed so it doesn't take long.
As for me, I am recuperating from the trip to the pain management doc yesterday. The largest hospital system in the city, with a half dozen facilities (including one a few minutes down the road) and they send me to one an hour and a half (round trip) away? Here's what he said: yes, my shoulder is so bad it needs a complete replacement, which they probably wouldn't do because of LE, but he may have a solution. He wants to try a nerve block, which would last about 24-48 hours, and if it relieves the pain sufficiently he cando a burn to make it last longer. Questions I should have asked: how long, how often, and would I have any use of the arm? I had a nerve block with shoulder surgery and had no use of the arm for 36 hours after. So, this may be a solution, but is it a reasonable and viable solution given that I am now NED? So we shall see. I'm really sick of limbo. Just want to be done with it.

Looks like that in my area too Mags lol
On top of the cold weather we are getting a snow shower here. So far its enough to turn the ground white and its still going. For a few minutes we had a really heavy burst and it was so bad I almost couldn't see across my street!
-
Ah GEEZ! Did you guys see THAT???? That Spooky is just rubbing it IN! 65 you say? It's barely that in my HOUSE!
Enerva, you have permission to smack that Spookers around a little! I whine when it is ZERO here! And you have 20 BELOW damn ZERO??? And you have a headache AND are throwing UP????? It's the pain..... It's the pain making you throw up.
Don't eat nothin'!!!! Just try and drink hot tea.... or even a Coke! I'm so sorry you are sick!!!! Geez! I hate throwing up worse than anything. One time I was so dizzy, that I just went outdoors and sat down and threw up in the garden..... It's like you want to just lay down and call it quits. You feel like you have to get BETTER before you can die.
I like your Catcicle Mags!
It was just plain icy here today.... warmed up to something, but the humidity is 73.... so cloudy, gloomy, and icy! Okay.... just wait for it....Spookers is going to run outdoors to update us on her chilly 70 degree weather.....
-
Enerva, I wore the hat to dog park today! Kept my ears nice and toasty!
CHEVY, why is it sooooooo cold in your house? Bet Orlando DD has HER heat set higher! But you stay warm with your pole I guess.
When the sun goes down soon the temp will too. I'll not be going outside.
Mags, cute catcicle.
-
Hi Ladies, we have 30 mph winds coming across the Lake from Canada today, and Cleveland is a very balmy 15 degrees. I feel good today, but I am still taking chevyboy's suggestion to drink hot tea! Stay Warm...
Mags - Love the kitty!
Enerva - I hope you feel better, that is a rough combo! Maybe an ice pack on the back of your neck? That usually works for me.
-
Are you kidding Spookie? She NEVER has her heat on! She grew up here, and loves the coolness! The boys freeze when they go over, but she loves the AC on all the time, and then sleep under comforters.... good thing the cats and dog have fur coats!
And, if you keep your house cooler, it makes you live longer.... It like keeps you preserved!
-
I'd rather melt than be preserved. Besides, preserves are like jelly
-
-
Brrrrrr
You win!!!!!!
-
Still cold for here!

-
I agree Chevy with the 68 outside. It's 65 in here with the thermostat set on 68. Dang cold for North Texas. 24 degrees and feels like 11 at 9pm. I'm seriously tired of this weather. Maybe freezing rain, sleet and who knows what else here the end of week/weekend/week beginning.
Teka - I love your cartoon.
DH has been working long hours. Got home at 3 am yesterday (Monday into Tuesday) from doing store inventory. We zonked but I did manage to go get haircut/pedi and stock up on necessary substances but forgot toilet paper. Oh my - I may have to dig out the buried 4 roll that is prob. 6 years old. Does TP get old? It's in the top of the linen cabinet so a nice dry place.
Monday I go for laser surgery for my glaucoma. First eye (R I guess since I think it's the worst) and other eye the following Monday. Not looking forward to it at all. Actually terrified. DH has had Lasix and cataract surgery, says no big deal.
Dutchy - did they cancel school in your area today? I've been watching an eagle nest online from Blair/Etrick WI area. Know they cancelled theirs because of the wind chill.
Enerva - hope your are feeling better tonight.
Patty - (((hugs)))
-
Here in Washington we just are flooding and still having flood alerts
on rivers and mud slides

Hello owlettes, break is doing me good
Working on getting the drug wars to stop--thyroid drugs and beta blocker. Walking and stair stepping. Chocolate cake
and dieting LOL.Helloooo KJ we did something together somewhere--Port thread, Constipation ---something? We are here 24 /7 not just at night so come anytime. ... I agree with Chevy getting it done on paper, but suggest doing it legally through guardianship papers that are set to become effective if you die. If they are done properly they should survive a legal challenge if someone tries to interfere. Way less expensive to do pre death than post death by survivors.
K you just keep journaling.
Beachie nice to see you again.
Chevy and Cami love to hear you sparring, makes the heart glad

Bagder, yes I agree about loving people here. Some in our real world just aren't there.
Blondie Hugs hope your pain is better and breathing :)00000
Enerva Nice Bikes. You look good too next to them.
Smarty Not being negative, but foobs always make themselves known. Glad your girls are settling in. Sounds like minimal problems------YAY. Did your new PS ever say anything about the old girls and what the old PS did? Thinking I may look in to getting mine redone. Just tired of them being so troublesome. I've given them enough time to straighten out.
Blessing------sorry about sis and FIl, You just be careful of the old adage things come in three's. ....Yay Oxygen to the rescue. Nothing like a little O2. Wish we all could have some. O2 doping anyone? Sounds like things are improving nicely and no sickies---another YAY.
Welcome Shy Shy G, I'm interpreting your question on the breathing treatment and chemo as what do you do at the infusion center. Call ahead and ask the nurse. Freestanding centers will likely ask you to bring your nebulizer machine with you. Hospitals have different rules b/c of accreditation. They might have to have Respiratory Therapy provide a machine and treatment. Rules different in each place. Nurses will guide you.
Good luck.Oh Chit 222222222222, I knew I'd forget. SORRY. It was Sunday and it's already Thursday. Happy Birthday.
Foots you are always an Angel
Oh Foots floods Are you safe?Paws, oheeehhhhh, Capsules. Read so many comment on YKYACPW about foob massage and gals finding they would absentmindedly do it anywhere. Me too. Left foob has always been much more of a trouble maker than the right. Six years this month and I still have to work the left a few times a day. Buggar.
Teka those snow pictures are right on mark. Please don't delete?
Patty, pooper, HUGS and TRIPLE HUGS. Eat some Chocolate and your favorite things. Jump your Dh's bones. Drink wine in bed. Eat some chees and grapes and little baguette pieces.
Spookie it was 73 and blue skies
Mags I used to know the answer to your question b/c of the pain docs that did everything in the same day surgery center, b ut I guess that brain cell is buried or died. If you can fax your questions to the office and then follow with a phone call----direct the fax to ma or nurse in charge----they will get with the doc. Sorry you are so cold.
Sorry everyones cold, Chevy, Enerva, Dutchy, beachy, Mommy. I'm in socks and shorts.I know bad, bad sassy. But see we have it bad in the summer---always worrying about Blows.
LMG Yay hidden stock of TP that never gets old. My biggest fear is running out of TP. No Sears catalogues and more. My Mom had laser sx for mac degen. It was over in secs Easy peesy. Ativan time?
-
-28*F

Luv, eye procedures give me the willies.

Majority of nights been feeling tired and in bed before midnight.
I miss the fun in the wee hours. Just saying!!
-
Wish I had some Ativan. Never got any. Never was offered and I never asked for any. Guess I didn't really know that they could have even been available for me. Only have 3 hidden out halves of Vicodin. Will get thru it. Made phone calls trying to find out if my pharmacy has the eye drops he prescribes. They freq. have to order stuff for me - refills, no big deal. Will make some more calls tomorrow. My pharmacy has 1 bottle and doc won't call it in ahead of time - I might persuade them day of surgery but not sooner. I have lots of choices but don't want to tick DH off. Would need to stop in last town before home - 10 miles. Fine if on the way home, not fine if DH had to go back.
Teka - -28. Ice pop Teka.

Mags, I hear ya. I went to the shoulder surgeon ( 2 hours away ) on Monday. He was looking at my MRI, I have multiple issues going on, and he mentions that it looks like a possible bone met.
The floor dropped....I know I had to lose the little color I have in the face....I said, wouldn't the radiologist mention that....??... He said well, yes...I wait 24 hours, call the radiologists & he said..NO, no bone mets... My shoulder is so beat up, he did mention that a replacement is apossibilty down the road. This surgeon is highly respected, only works on shoulders. I do have confidence in him. Surgery scheduled for Feb. 5..
So, since I'm in the "big city", I went thrifting....Sas, always thinking of you when I go. I found these lamps, paid $5.00 each. LOVE them... If for some reason I cannot find a spot for them, my kids can use them. My sons duplex is a nightmare of old, hand me down crap. He has never cared before, but I think he is starting to think its time to live like a adult. ( he will be 32 in a month )...
Shoot, I cannot get the photo of the lamps to post..I will try later...BBL, hello to all....
-
Oh yes Luv, school was cancelled today. It would have been a good day to stay in bed.
-

Early for Throwback Thursday perhaps, but this is me in 1968. I am told that my youngest daughter and I look alike in childhood pictures.
-
You poor things... geezz such cold. We heard on the news that schools were cancelled in the upper midwest. I would worry about frozen pipes! I lived 5 years in Rochester NY and I remember the lake effect snow and bitterly cold temps.
My house is at 68 degrees! We have been lucky to hit 48-50 during the day. It is so foggy and the fog so close to the ground that we could hardly see to walk the dogs tonight. It's like a Sherlock Holmes movie in London ... spooky! Stay warm. I like the cat Mags. Hugs to everyone having pain, head aches, depression and difficulties. Holeinone- hope he is wrong on the films.

Got woke up a little early thanks to Princess. The little "angel" in the process of returning to her kitty bed after getting in under the covers between me and her daddy, hit the button to turn the radio on the alarm clock on and woke the house up! Had to turn the light on to find the off button for the radio!
-
Dutchie! Good one! That is sooooo true someimes! When I had to walk over to feed the chickens for my neighbors, I wore one of those masks... That icy damp cold even hurts your EYES!
And now what's THIS???? Sassy ditches class like for a WEEK, then comes back all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and writes a whole dissertation on ALL of us and NAILS it? I don't know how she does it. She must take notes... She goes off to some Island, with pen and pad, and that phone, and sits and drinks Margarita's while storing all this stuff about us..... THEN she comes back and tells us stuff even EYE have forgotten!
And the only way I can get Cammi to pop in is to raise 3 kinds of hell about her not even PEEKING in! That girls is just off in her own world. She sits in bed in her flannel pajamas with her KatyKat, and whines because she is working her arse off. Now how can anyone be "working" ..... in bed???? Oh wait never mind.... whatever.
Now she is probably in the throes of Winter... like the rest of us are, ceptin' for Spookie and Sass and who else? I can't even pole-dance lately! I mean it's hard enough just to WALK with boots on! But in ONE day, almost all that snow was gone! I swear! It got up to 60 degrees, and POOF!
Then yesterday was the ice storm... Today is supposed to be better...I guess we can take ANYthing now....
HiHO! Damn you SCARED me girl! You are supposed to give GOOD news first, THEN what those dinks told you! I'm sorry your heart just dropped..... I know how that is....but glad you are okay... I would NOT like a shoulder problem! Leg was not good, but how would you do your HAIR and face? That would be the worst..... I mean WORST.
Morning Rosie and all you guys on the last page, because now I can't remember WHO.... except Sass .... her with her play-by-play on each of us, and nailing it!

-
Thanks for the encouragement SAS. Your the best.
Still tear eyed today. Hard to be happy and be in so much pain. Hard to see family trying to deal with it. Ugh. Today is a new day. Surely these years gotta stop soon. If not ism going outside where it's 8 degrees. Bet that freezes the tears to stop.
Checking in to see how everyone else is doing.
Hootie hoo
-

And the funds to travel where ever this is!
-
PattyP.....Big hugs, wish we could sit, drink tea and cry & giggle. It must be heartbreaking watching your precious boys, process all of this. Thinking of you, hoping you get some relief from the pain.
Tang, I sent Susan a Xmas card, snail mail....I got a PM from her a cople of months ago. I had PM her & she responded. She is struggling with chemo & pain.
Dutchie, beautiful photo. I will try to find one of me in 1968. I was 13 years young,
My post yesterday was poorly written. Our power went off, for over an hour. That never happens. I was trying to post the lamps & rambling about my scare on Monday. I am fine, think the ortho guy was trying to make sense of my chewed up shoulder joint. If I don't do anything, it does not hurt. That is impossible. Washing my hair, every little chore causes pain, so time to get it worked on.
