Hi1, so far this last chemo is going easy on me. Today is day 4, and I'm really shaky as the steroids deplete, but appetite is holding, DH grilled some steaks last night for us, and I ate hearty. There was also leftover garlic & cheese mashed cauliflower which I had two helpings of. I can tell the taste buds are starting to be a bit out of whack but not too bad. So I'm just taking it real easy. Should have some news today about the lung function study.
So, good morning, Owlettes! Cami, go take a nap.
-
Mags-glad you are doing okay. Hooray again for the last chemo! I remember how wonderful I felt after that last one, but I did end up crashing a week later lol. Let us know on the lung function.Work starts at 9am and I'm just drinking my coffee and having an english muffin. I can see the neighbor across the street with his dog, he's doing some sort of training exercise it looks like. Neighbor is a cop and the dog is his k-9 partner. Cop is pretty cute

Hole-we went to the fair that was in my town. We were gonna go to the big State Fair in Dallas, but decided to just keep it local here. It was cheaper lol.
anyhoo-gonna go check some other threads see ya'll later taters!
-
I love that Teka! Mags.... just take it easy.... You sound good....
Tang! Yes! Eye candy, right? We never stop appreciating nice looking guys....
Morning Spookie! Janie gave me 2 napkins from the Restaurant we had lunch at! I didn't even know she got them! They were so I would remember...
-
LOL DBF frantic about CSE. What's my help. LOL. I' stupid I'm doing it. Yhis is the same CSE DOR and judiciary that couldn't get it straight to take the child of 12 , now 13 years ago.Shucks Donnie fixed the phone this morning rang ever sine
Chevy I like your idea about putting it in th e microwave
BTW DBF asked for help just as I swallowed my Ativan. Ativan helps with the bottom a bit. Now I'm a space cadet trying to work on government things. Do I sound slurry? BBL
-
Sass, whatever you just said.....okay......! Better take a nap.... don't try anything important.... don't drive, or even try to walk.... Not to even mention type!
-
Geeeze! I'm freezing! It's 67, my feet feel like ice cubes, I'm shivering, and it's not even winter here yet. May get in car, go for lunch with heat on to thaw out. Yeah, I know, no sympathy from those up north.
-
Nope! It's almost 56 here, the sun is out, and I'm working in the yard! You guys are panty-waists! Put some clothes on! That's what my Mom would say.... That's what Sheri says to all who come to her house, where she always has the air conditioner on and keeps it about 50.... Ha!
-
-
-
-
good one! That's about the way it is! And I had on my winter Jammie's too!
-
Okay.... just one more....

-
Ok, so I'm jumping in! I'm going to quote Cami, no I'll just copy and paste what she said, "OMG this is really Mission Impossible trying to catch up"!
Sas, hope you get things back on track, health wise and relationship wise!
Spookie, what a pretty pic! I love peacocks!!
Teka, Love the Friendship recipe post!
Mags, hope you get some good news about the lung function!
Spookie, I've been cold all morning too, I've had my jacket on and I've threatened to turn on the heater I keep under my desk! The guys here tease me about how I'm cold all the time! Crap, just as I'm typing the dang AC came on, I WILL go turn it off!!
Chevy, I think it was 50 something here also, now it's 61 and I still have my jacket on!!
Just a side note - Started the Tamoxifen Monday, any one have any suggestions about side effects and how to deal???
I'll be back later, better get a little work done!
-
Nettie-I am still in my first month of tamoxifin and I'm honestly shocked that I have had no se's that I can tell. I mean I still feel achey, but I've been like that since chemo so who knows what is what. I'm hoping that it stays this way, I was fully expecting se's.
-
Winter - bah! I spent many years living in a farm in Maine, in my previous life, the house was built in 1830 as a schoolhouse, later added onto and became a residence. In the winter you could rech out of bed and scrape frost off the wallpaper. I don't ever want to be that cold again.
-
Its only in the 50s here today. Gonna brew me a cup of hot apple cider in a bit!
-
Love ALL those pics!!!!!
Boy, I hear y'all about the freezing weather!
It was only 70 when I got up this morning... I'm sitting here wearing a summer nightgown, and over that a pair of fleece pajamas, wrapped in my fuzzy robe. BRRRRR!!!!!
I had to wear a sweater yesterday! But today should be better... should get up to 82.
I thought I might make it to the therapy pool today, but seeing as how the class starts at noon, and it's now 12:05 p.m., I guess the answer is no. Maybe I'll do a load of laundry instead. I like to physically challenge myself.
Hope all my sweet Owlettes have a wonderful day, whatever that means to you!!!
xoxoxoxo

WOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOO
ITS HAPPY DANCE TIME
Just got back from my surgeons office, he DISCHARGED ME I don't have to go back, unless I need to!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!
-
Spookie- happy dance! Did you get your port removed? May you never need to go back and see the surgeon again.
Cheevy you make me laugh. Your posts are so funny. Thanks. Love the photos. The pictures of the frozen bathroom remind me of poem about the old outhouse and sitting on that "frozen seat would make a Spartan cry! " Got a mental image on that one. haha
Magdalene- I LOVE Maine what part?? We spent many a lovely November day in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton - wound our way through Maine on the way up from Philly area. Love Camden Maine and the rocky coast.. oohh so pretty. Had to wear Islandic sweaters to trap body heat and play outdoors. Worth being red eyed and red nosed cold! Don't know if I could tolerate that kind of cold like they have in New England. My joints are not what they used to be... understatement of the century.
Sassy -hope you are feeling better and you got your $ back.
Howdy-ho to everyone else i missed. Love the news and snippets from life all over the country. This is a very fun thread in that regard. Best Fall days to everyone.
-
still have port. Want to keep it forever, he thought that was ok.
Have thawed out, at least for now.
Rose, reserve that flight yet?
-
here's the beginning of the mess my house is now. Didn't expect both rooms to be torn up at the same time. Even had to take a kitchen cabinet apart. Dinner out for sure.

About the GS, he got home about 7 last night. They had to really drug him up to help with the pain. They did clip his toe nails and get off all the dead skin on his foot and leg. But woke up in pain, 10! He's pretty drugged up today. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.
-
Smarrty--soooooooooooo sorry about DGS. Awful scenario. Just sucks. -
May I please ask for a repeat? I knowIu read on this thread about ringing in the ear, is there anything to stop it and what might the possible cause be? So far it only bothers me when things are quiet, but it makes it so hard to fall asleep.
-
Nettie, after washing my hair!

I was tired last night and should've explained that getting water in my ears makes the ringing worse.
You just asking, got me fixating on the faint ringing!
-
Hi ladies - leaving for Hawaii (Big Island) on Sunday. It's been hectic around here - not sure why. Since I retired I can't seem to get anything done. it's crazy!!! I'm trying to get some sewing done, as my creative side feels malnourished. I made a purse and have started a silk shirt, but it's just started. I'm still picking up an occasional cyber security contract here and there, so keep my nose slightly grindstoned, but mostly just doing laundry, cooking, and attempting (half-heartedly) to keep the house clean. I really hate housework....I'm taking the laptop along to Hawaii, so maybe I'll post once in awhile - though as poorly as I post when I'm actually home - don't expect much.

Big hugs to everyone.
-
it's tinitus. I've heard there is a way to retrain your ears, but pricey. I use a loud small fan to drown it out.
-
Yes Spookie.... If I didn/t have Tinnitis, I couldn't hear anything.... Even with my hearing aids, it is always there.... They say just don't pay attention to it... And I also have a fan on, but I've had it for maybe 3 years, ever since I lost my hearing..... I'm going to have them tested again in December.... to see if I need a different "type" because when I push on the front of one ear, I can hear better... And the audiologist said it is because I close the holes up in that "little plastic dome in my ear" And maybe I need a larger dome, to shut out the "other" sounds? I went to Costco, to get new little plastic tubing things... and I talked to this new gal!
So do any of you guys get those nightly telephone callers, promoting every damn candidate for this next danged election? They are usually recorded messages, but it drives me NUTS! Lately I've told the girls to not call after 8, because I turn the phone on, and put it in the microwave.
I AM on the Do Not Call List.... but I don't think they care! Yes, I am a registered voter, so that must be the reason. I also set the phone to ring just twice instead of 4 times, and they do not leave a message. I've been getting calls about every 15 minutes, starting at 6!
Morning Teka and GG! Did you hear THAT girls? She's going to Hawaii! Wow! In other words you are going to Paradise, right? Ha!
And I used to make a LOT of purses! So cute! Even cigar-box purses.... but I gave them all away.... They are nice to carry over your shoulder, when you are going somewhere and you don't need to carry all that other stuff we carry! I even made a fur one, with black-satin lining, and black braid rope for the strap. It goes good with my pole dancin' outfit!
Have you made any from little boys jeans? You cut the legs off, sew them up, and decorate the "purse!"

-
Wonderful news Spookie!
-
just a quick stop here, lots to do, off to the hospital to see mom then a 2:00 appt. busy day.
GG, hoping you have a wonderful time! Take lots of pictures, post after you return. Always wanted to go to Hawaii, for now, it's a dream so if you can, show me some great sights.
Sassy, hope you're ok, thinking of you.
18 years ago today had my first mx. So grateful that is so far in the past! Celebrate tomorrow at a BC retreat.

Make it a great day!
