Spookie, The beauty of the Columbia is there is a parking lot right behind . You know how Disney designs everything out of sight. Columbia's right on the corner. Easiest to get to restaurant in all of downtown. I may come from a different direction for certain poop reasons. Schatzi's been there enough. DS and I meet down by the divided road where the lusciously landscaped canal is located. I get out of the car Schatz' poops in short order on command. I bag it and dispose of it. No one around. I hate to pick up poop in front of people. Indelicate. But across from the Columbia is a park. In case doggy spookie has a need.HI1-Yes re; glass, almost said no, but realized that was just the day you asked
. I pick up Wexford whenever I see it. Lot's of it coming on the secondary market now i.e. thrift. More now than in the last 15 years. Wexford was made by Anchor-Hocking for the middle class from 1950 till 1970. Not sure when production stopped. It has lots of facets. It's pressed glass. It was made for the middle class to give a sense of cut crystal. What I like about it is 1. it's pretty after going through a wash with FINISH 2. it's incredibly rugged 3.The glasses are great in a woman's hand. Not too heavy and not slippery in anyone's hand. The thrift price should be .50 cents to a dollar per glass. Been picking up the serving pieces for the last year. Price should be between 3-6$. Haven't seen them before this year and have gotten quite a few. Ebay prices are way high. RC ridiculous. I've gotten my cousin to the point she's collecting it in Canada LOL. My favorite cousin out of 63 first cousins YAY. She's now a snowbird 1/2 hour away. She bought a condo here on Cocoa Beach. By the time I'm done she will be well stocked
Checked out your Lenox Falling Star today on Ebay. The bowl and the two candlesticks were listed at 89.95
On RC they only showed that the bowl and a picture were produced. The candle sticks are beautiful. Incredibly whimsical. Harkens back to the whimsy and artistry of Art Deco. Stylistic and elegant. Have a section in DS room where I've been storing stuff for him. I found three 14 inch platters that he chose from what I collected, on the floor and then noticed the whole area upended. One of the dogs must have been trying to find a storm hiding place. Not a chip on the glass---amazing. Haven't checked everything out--just the trays. It was a moment of " What am I looking at--why are they upside down and all over the place"
Tip I learned a few weeks ago for chips on glass. The cardboard emory boards. Just keep working a chip until your satisfied. If it doesn't work--pitch it. Unless it's really valuable. Then make it a planter, or flower holder.

I'll put in a plug for seeking Money assistance. There are sssssssssssssooooo many Foundations that help. Finding them is hard LOL the post I made in that regard lead to my banning.Irony.
Back to help---contact your Insurance Companies, Cancer centers, Senior outreach of the County you live in. Ask to talk to the Social Worker. SW's are the key to resources for EVERYTHING--money, grab bars, wheel chair ramps, equipment, grocery buying sources, grocery delivery sources, cleaning sources, meals on wheels, placement services. Payment for lots of stuff.

Cami--Yes, your right BLack and Blue versus Pink. I agree with many others I love Pink, it is entirely agreeable with my complexion. Won't wear it in October.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ have you checked back in since it seemed like CHEVY was critizing your spelling and rally she was critizing Cami. I was afraid you were affronted and didn't come back?
Chevy, I tried to read what you wrote for the Mods, realized I had a computer virus. Then I realized they didn't ASK me, I'm five years out. HMM .

Smarrty,Yay 40lbs. that's the exact amount according to doc records I've gained since Dec 2012. Stupid docs ignoring what I said. Not No More.
Nay never No More.................hmm that's a line in a song
Found it "Wild Rover" I think Irish or Australian drinking songSmarrty good I'll pass on to Philly. I feel bad about Tang not being here. The threads she's on (cuz I checked too), are inline with her problems. Just wish she were here too. Of course blame myself, she said I scared her. Sucks, I was feeling protective. Pisses me off, I think she has been mismanaged, but she didn't need me being strident at the time. poop.
Paws, what a great thing to see, before going to work. WOW I loved Akron Ohio, but after being in Florida for several months after we moved in 1992, I said I would never again live where there were grays skies everyday. Akron Clevland was /is second to Seattle Washington for the number of cloudy days. In Akron, when the sun shone, people would remark all day about it. We didn't really understand that there was a different world out there.
Nettie Thanks for your opinion :0 Loved the motorcycle granny
Blondie, hugs babe, enjoy your drugs-----sounds strange, but I know you get it.
Okay possibly done, realized I did an overlap. I can do this split screen thing with Windows 8.1. Very cool. read on right, type on left.
-
It was the "Wild rover" it's a very old song , but is now apparently associated with rugby. No other YouTube recordings came uphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yF0mFVwqzg
My brother used to have an Irish trio that formulated b/c my Dad had an Irish bar in the 60's and 70's . Those were fun time. The trio sang together into the late late 90's. So, wish they had made a recording.
-
Hi, mods, Judith? Judith used to check in nightly. -
Okay, had a brew or two, that's the Irish saying, you can extrapolate from there. It's nigh ne'r morn. -
Hey Sassy, imagine finding you here at this hour. Got a couple hours of sleep, now wide awake. Owlet ties. I love it. Oh how I hate steroids. My brain is jumping all over the place, I can't keep a line of thought in it. Time for some solitaire, maybe some music.
Later.
-
Oh Good God SASS! WTH are you talking about? I go back, and see posts, and your comments, and then I forget what everyone was talking about! I just can't keep up with you.... I'm going to pretend I am oblivious!
Yes Mods.... that is such an accomplishment to lose ANY weight! She should be VERY proud! We are all jealous.... me especially... But thank you for checking in on us, and saying that to Smarty....
SOMEone has to keep tabs on us.... Lord only knows we could go on forEVER just talking about whatever comes into our head... and it's usually meaningless.... Ha!
-
At least for me anyway...................
-

I'm getting excited!
-
Good morning! Sorry to hear about the sleeplessness plaguing Blondie, Mags, and others. Blondie , what dose of Ativan where you prescribed?
Beautiful picture Pawprint. Great weather there i see.
Sas, have you been drinking 'til the wee hours darlin'? Wheels on meals? Here it's meals on wheels. I have delivered for them before and it was so gratifying. OK Sas, I don't want to get anyone in trouble but what are you talking about? How can viewings change on a thread deleted from our view? Thank you for the update on phyllinhouston. I was just thinking about her. I hope she gets back online soon.
Congratulations on the weight loss Smarty. Wow! That is awesome. Envoy those skinny clothes.

Good morning Owlettes....thank you for all the responses on my picture. It was a beautiful place to walk and yes Blessings you are correct, Heisler Park is where the pic was taken. During the week the crowds are much less and parking accessible. What a great place for you to have a time share. I've been to a wedding there at the Gazebo. Gorgeous place.
Zzzz glad you are halfway thru with treatment. And Smarrty...I think we posted at the same time yesterday, very cool about your weight loss.
Enerva, maybe you can make a long distance bike trip and visit California and our beautiful coastline.
Yes, Dutch, we are fortunate to have beautiful weather. Kind of hard to believe its Fall because it's bright and sunny here. I would love to see beautiful orange leaves and experience the different seasons. But not sure I'd want to experience icey cold snowy days.
I hope everyone has a nice day. Hugs to all.

emailed Susan and she is doing okay.
Amazing job Smaarty!

Yes Spookie! I just had heart-failure! My MOUSE would not work! His red light would not come on, no matter how hard I slammed it down on the desk! So I go crawling up-stairs, get ANOTHER one.... SAME thing! Then I shut off the computer.... Turn it on again, and all's well that ends well.
So yes.... I was fear-ful that things were amiss! And I NEED to check in here.... for something..... except I forgot what!
See you and Sassy Thursday! And Sassy? You sometimes give me heart-failure all by yourself! xoxoxoxo
-
The grands were here Sun nIte for their dads bday. #1 grand is a sneaky BRAT.Hes 9. Picked them up from school yesterday. #2 starts yelling at brother to GIVE THAT TO NANA. Um, give me what? I'm handed the ball that goes in the mouse!!!!!!!Talk about near heart failure!!!!
#1 was eating RASINS. I asked him to be careful, not to get them all over. They are toxic to dogs, Kris has the back seat. Could kill him. You should see my car! That brat is going to pick up every one of them if I have to threaten to knock him into next year.
My cow died and I don't need his bull
-
You have a cow? Who knew?
So just wait until your GrandSon is maybe 18! He will probably lock you in your room, until you behave!
-
Somebody's going to kill him before then.
-
So what is this? I'll bet you make him shiver before he even sees you? Honestly, when I used to get "my boys" that was the happiest time of my life.... They still live in my heart... even though they are 27 and 25...
Sometimes wouldn't youi just want to turn back time? And go through a favorite period in your life again? That would be mine.... Being with my Grand-sons from the time they were born, until they moved away.... almost 16 years now.... So many memories...
Or even "now"..... every day I am so fortunate to be here.... okay..... gotta go finish mopping the floor....
-
Yeah, I'd like to be the cookie baking nana with him. But you can't. He has some problems, maybe on the Spectrum. Wasn't untill this summer both boys could be together without #2 crying. NO body could stand them together. He'll get a look on his face, or zone out. After 23 years working with kids, I've never seen one like him.
#2 is a whole other story. Agreeable, rarely in trouble, sweet kid. Totally different than bro. He will be 7 in 2 weeks, they are going to LEGGO land for his bday. That kid is a wiz with them. He can't read much yet, but can put the kits together just looking at the pics.
-
I'll probably be visiting this place from time to time since I have to be up early during the week to see hubby off to work.
-
Hey peeps too funny, kids r such a delight, lol. Grandchildren r the best...but to get them duh uhave to have kids, ihave 5 way too many. Just drove michael to work, why cause I am an idiot, but really to get him out of the house, but he works 11 7 or somrthing oike that, he got a job like 20 miles away at a wawa n 4 u all that dont know what it is it is like 7 11. N hehas no vehicle, n mine Iis still illegal, then he is yelling at mee, really
-
O.K., you Insomniacs..... here is what I had to wear to bed last night! Don't you feel sorry for me?

Everything was either taped, velcroed, or wrapped around various body parts. The "nasal cannula" was two irritating prongs (no oxygen) in my nose, and a ticklish third prong on my upper lip. The whole thing was taped to my face in several places.
DH and I had to follow the diagram to get everything hooked up.
It was for my SECOND sleep apnea test. The only good news was that I got to sleep in my own bed. I had $14,000 worth of tubes and wires and electronic boxes on me. They all went OVER my nightgown. The smartest thing I did was to put on a satin pajama top ON TOP of everything, so I could move and turn over in bed. I did actually get some sleep. Now waiting for the results....
Tonight.... freedom!!!
Nighty-night!!!!
xoxoxoxoxo
-
Jwoo Thanks for emailing Susan, Duh didn't think of that. I don't like email b/c I've gotten several viruses over the year. I just don't use it.
-
OMG I'm so far behind (with a big behind too) I can't ketchup (I know what I just typed, Chevy) and I did read some posts, and if it's a criticism that Chevy is posting don't think she means anyone else but me, she just forgets to put my name on it. I'm telling all of u so the newbies know that. Chevy thinks she has super intelligence over me, but the joke's on her we're both goofy on the same level, and BTW my DD know to let u guys know if something stupid is happening so please don't be concerned between my stupid comp. (which my boss is supposed to look at and my little job, I'm getting dopier than usual, my boss is a genius and very nice but on a daily basis he's in the world he lives in and no one else can figure it out, well I could but I don't have the patience. Oh and I started on another new med and I'm feeling some more different SE's and one of them is b*tchy, yes Chevy it's says that exact word and true to form I am the biggest b*tch walking which is me usually so u can imagine if I'm worse (shut up Chevy)
I enjoy all the pics and the scenery is so pretty.
I'll be back.
-
OK I'm back had to pee.
So everyone is closing up gardens and battening down for the winter, it's cool here but nice, of course I wear layers and usually freezing.
Grandchildren are the joy that some of us share and it's so much nicer than when were raising our own---But Chevy said something before that was so true---I didn't realize at the time so much but when my kids were younger and even tho I raised them on my own it was the happiest time of my life and even tho I worked 2 jobs I was still happy cuz it was just the 3 of us and my problems were so easy to face and I enjoyed my kids, I know they had more responsibility than most kids had then but they also had fun too. I worked during the day with my one cousin and my sister and at night with my other cousin (and they themselves were sisters) and lived acroos the street from each other and every chance we had we were together, they only lived a few blocks from me so all of our kids loved it and they were always together too. Our moms were sisters and lived a block from each other and they were always together--we are still close but not living clos like before.
Blondie Hope u'r doing OK I didn't read the last couple of pages.
I'm sorry I'm not addressing everyone but not reading much (my fault and the puter) I always just pray everyone is doing OK. and WELCOME here Mags these are a bunch of fun nice women here, u'll enjoy this thread. Especially if u can't sleep and sometimes tht hits all of us.
Oh this Sunday I'm going to a family reunion with cousins I don't see a lot and a few I do but it'll be at a restaurant not far from where I live, so my one cousin will pick my A$$ up early like 11 am early now for me, but I'm looking forward to it.
Chevy have a great time and pics please and wear whatever u want except flannel, I wouldn't recommend flannel.
-
Okay, I've got my flannel on! I'm rather toasty too! Actually I DO have my heating blanket on my bed already, ready for winter! I probably won't bring that to Orlando though?
I love your story Cammi... I always KNEW you were normal. I didn't have a Sister, just my little Brother and our dog Sport! I've been talking to him on FB... and I tease him more than YOU even! But it's so much fun.... All his Drummer/musician friends are getting a kick out of me blabbing about the pranks he did when we were kids.
An Cammi, isn't it kind of sad that here we are, all grown up... And just realizing how great the times were when we were kids? How much fun life was, and how we just don't think about it, because the whole world is our playground!
And then we get older, and we go on with life, and then like for me, we realize those were the "good" times... that we start thinking about "oh hell, what's next?" And it just makes me kind of sad.
I KNOW we are still so lucky, and fortunate that we MADE it this far, and our memories keep us going, but it's just kind of sadly sadly knowing those "good times" are now the "gone times" .... So we just gotta hang on to each other! xoxoxo
