SAS. My vote is yes for you to try to call Susan. I understand the break but it's also nice to be missed. Thanks to technology if you call  and she isn't ready to talk she can use caller id to avoid calls.  Just my opinion.

patty, true DBF uses it all the time. LOL I did the same thing the other day.I didn't pick up when he called.  He couldn't complain :) He's answering better. Okay Paws and you are ago. I'm sure others will weigh in by tomorrow night.

Enerva the flowers are gorgeous. Between Dini and I we would kill them so fast. He by dumping them over looking for lizards. Me, I'd forget to water after awhile. Kale is so pretty. Makes a gorgeous center piece. Turn it sideways and cut out the middle, tuck in a pretty bowl with a dip.

had a long post last night, the iPad hiccuped before I could do a save. Then too tired and frustrated to start over.

Long comment about pinking of BC, basically I like pink, looks good on me, but not in October. Had a different experience with BC awareness than most of you as there was limited "awareness" when I was first dx'ed in 1996. It was still secretive, almost shameful, support almost non-existent. For me, glad the awareness took away the shame aspect. Also, had very aggressive type, which is common to young women (yes, Chevy, I was considered young back then, DD wasn't 3) so they had me wrapping up my life. So happy the awareness has changed that too.

Yes, it was fun being with Pawprint and Grammakathy. Only wore a dress because it's been way too hot for clingy tight jeans and tops. Good thing it was long enough to cover my feet in sandals.

Thanks for all the links. Wouldn't have seen the get togethers slide show, thanks Badger.

Love Blessings answer to BC donations! Wish I would have had that last week when they called for a donation.

Hi Mags, glad to see you here! Hope you stay with us.

Sassy, if you're still taking opinions about the call to Susan, I say call. If she doesn't want to talk, leave a message, then it's her choice how to respond or not. Be prepared she just might want to keep it short, that's okay. I'm going thru something similar: someone nice I've been playing word games with for a while has just disappeared. As I recall her health was taking a down turn and she hasn't logged on in over a month. So wish I had some other way to contact her. We went thru this with NickyJ, still haven't heard anything. That's why Jwoo wanted to start a contact-type list. Also, I know before I got active with BCO, was so grateful for the calls, texts and emails to let me know others care. That's why I feel so very blessed for friendships I've made on BCO and the emails and long calls from Insomniacs (and others) and why our get-togethers mean so much to me.

Sassy, I take it your technology got the virus not you? Lol!

Enerva, thanks for the beautiful pix. Looks like autumn is starting in some parts of the world. Hoping we have a mild autumn and soon so tired of the hot weather. (And hoping for a miracle that we've the last of the big fires). Looks like you're feeling so much better. How's the healing going?

For everyone I didn't mention, thinking of you too.

    Here's to a good week!

    Edited to add:

Remember what I forgot to add: The View on Friday had Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg paying tribute to Robin Williams. Very moving.

    Welcome Mags !

2ndtime, I loved your dress. I kept seeing the long dresses this year in stores, never tried one on. Wish I had, it looks comfy. How is your Dad ? Is your Mom stable, or content being in the home?

Chevster, your brother is amazing. What talent & discipline to become so accomplished. He has the music gene & you have the gift of ? Gab, pole dancing, greened thumb, tomato-hybrid growing contraband.....you fill in the blanks...

Sas, I am on the fence about contacting Susan. But better for her to know we miss her & hope she can check in once in awhile. If she is uncomfortable talking, keep it light & short. I sent her a post card about 3 weeks ago. I am still hoping we hear from Ziggypop. I guess sometimes it is easier to step away & try to put the cancer shit on the back burner. She had to be the wittiest person, amazing writer, I do miss her also. Nicky, well, she also gave us a piece of her heart. My gut tells me she was very ill. I once tried to google obits for Bordeaux. I so hope I am wrong. Ok, enough serious stuff.....Have you been thrifting lately?

Blondie, hope you get some shut eye....

Morning gals!  Really cool here!  It's Autumn later on today?  I love this time of year....!

You GO Enerva!  And yes the pictures are most beautiful!  My Dad grew the Flowering Cabbage/Kale in front of their home in Richmond Ca.....  And their whole back-yard was filled with Hawaiian Flowers, trees, and a Lanai, with Koi!....  He was a Florist all of his life...  So we grew up around every kind of plant in the world!  He even grew Bird of Paradise and Antherium (sp) and even a Monkey Tail Fern/tree.    Ginger,  Carnations, and Mom had her Orchids, Bonsai's and Stag-horn Fern collection.

HiHo....  Hah!  That was funny!  Tomatoes are all grown and harvested....  Those "Pot" pots are all put away....  I STILL laugh about that "White Rhino"  name that was taped on those pots!    I just thought they must have been those huge Lilly type of plants that you grow like in your front yards!  Until I looked them up.....

So has anybody heard from Susan?  I think she can still read us, right?  I mean even if she doesn't want to post?  Maybe some things are going on in her life, that she doesn't want to share...  or maybe we drive her nuts.... Ha!   I mean me and Cammi.....

I hope she comes back, but we enjoyed her while she was here.....  So Susan, just know that we care about you.

And Nikki, and LilShit, and even that Vinnie guy!   We just make friends, and then they are gone......We can't hold onto everyone forever....  So we just gotta enjoy today....  Even that Cammi!  Now SHE is hard to keep track of!  She is probably off flitting around somewhere with her "phone" she calls it....  Nary a word to NO-body.  And we sit here waiting.

Okay gals.... talk to you all later...  glad I could add to the farm report for today.

You know, I was going back millions of pages, and see a LOT of gals that don't post here anymore.... and yes, we miss them... but who knows?  Maybe they'll be back someday!  I sent Susan a PM....

Chevy, you're up bright and early.  You still laugh about the white rhino name that was  taped on the pots?  You mean you took it off?    And where is Cammi?  She's  like Waldo or Carmen SanDiego.

I am not much of a gardener.  I like to plant things that come back every year.  Lately I just hope I'm here next summer and healthy enough to enjoy it.

Enerva, great pictures.  Btw, I really like your bike.  Is that your bright blue car?  I like the look of yellow bikes and cars but I have a gray car and a black scooter.

Sas, I know i don't say to much here but i say call Susan.  I think if just one person calls that it wont be too intrusive.  They can relay that others are thinking about her.  It may mean a lot to her.  I think this is how I would feel if it were me.   I agree with Patty.  It's nice to be missed.

Blondie, I hope the Ativan helped.  I was told that it also helps with nausea if that's an issue.

    Welcome Mags!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, y'all! I plan on hanging out here a lot. Lately my insomnia is like this: too tired to do anything, but can't shut off enough to sleep. I did sleep a couple hours last night though. Today is steroids, tomorrow chemo. Ugh.

Mags, where are you in your chemo regime? Are you getting it dose dense or every 21 days? I am guessing you are done with A/C, the horrific red devil, and now getting Taxotere. My last chemo was 10 months ago. I thought radiation was a cake walk compared to chemo. Hang in there, the fatigue gets worse in the end, but slowly we heal. Way too slow, but life does move forward.

Dutchie, Sharon, you sound down....Today is a great day, new season, fresh start to the end of 2014. Our cancer nightmare was 2013, lets try to make 2015 one of our best. I will turn 60 next year. I know you are much younger. I have  to believe that my health will continue to improve.

Envera, great pics. You are a free spirit. Very envious that you can ride your bike & enjoy it.

Mags on rhoids. Hated roids. Good luck with Chemo tomorrow.

Badger, again, love San Sabado. I've watched it soo many times. Think I'll slip it in the topic box :)

Patty, sweet thought, very kind, but makes me feel funny. We are the sum total of our life experiences. With the medical/nursing stuff I know, it just happens that I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I had so many great teachers. I see one of the primary roles of docs and nurses as teachers. The teaching allows patients to manage their lives better. Hugs :)

Talked with Phyillyinhouston Chemo was cancelled last week b/c of counts. Scheduled for this Wed. Scans this passed week showed no progression from last scan in June---YAY. Gave her some words to shake up their assumptions. Her docs were looking for regression of tumor to move on to the radiation segment of her trial. Instead they are seeing status quo. The scans weren't done immediately before first chemo. Can't prove regression is absent b/c it's been two-three months since scan. Suggested she check the Mitosis section in her pathology report.  It's a rapidly dividing tumor. Then for them to assume she hasn't regressed .i.e  no change since June doesn't compute. The only way to absolutely define regression in her case, the scan had to be done the day before the first chemo. The positive is no further progression can be concluded b/c the  scan is  the same.

She changed MO's, likes him allot. She was never happy with old MO.  Enjoying her time with her DS. They love going to dinner together and trying new types of food. India, thai etc. She makes me drool. She's having computer connection problems. This is her third time staying with her BFF. Each time she's had computer problems. This computer is brand new. She's frustrated.

Sends her love to everyone, Thinking of you :)

well, Ive officially lost 40 lbs. Sorry to sass and someone else who said they got them. Had a resting metabolic rate test done at noon. I want to stay where I'm at now, new PS doesn't want my weight to change anymore. So I can have between 1300 and 1700 calories a day now. I'm suppose to ease into that. The more cal, the more exercise I need.  Yeah! I can be a little bad now on my trip! I won't go crazy.  I've been doing about 1250.

Hope everyone is doing ok.  Glad to hear Philly is doing ok. I see tang posting on other threads, must be doing ok. Also, if you think it's important to touch base with Susan, go for it. Like others have said, she'll take the call or not. Hope she's doing ok also.  BBL

Sas,  thanks for update on Phyillinhouston. Sending her hugs.

I went for a walk along the coast in Laguna Beach, CA this morning before work. Really a beautiful day. Tide pools, crashing waves, jagged rock formations, seals, and  clear water. The ocean air smelled so good.

Hi1, I am getting round 5 of 6, all three each time, 21 day intervals, ACT. SEs were awful the first two, big D and horrible (screaming and clutching my belly) abdominal cramping and pain. A friend with Crohn's suggested Bentyl, and doc prescribe it. Since then, no cramping or pain and only a tiny D. Worst SEs now are shaking, insomnia, and neuropathy. I had neuropathy before but it's getting worse. My feet feel like they do after being pinched in too-tight shoes all day, only I go barefoot. Insomnia, like I said, a lifelong struggle. And Doc thinks the shaking is a SE from Effexor which he prescribed for hot flashes. So far all my labs have come back with A+s on everything.

I have to be there in less than 9 hours. Not expecting to get a lot of rest tonight what with all the steroids. Ugh. But I'm too tired to write...
