salad sounds great. Good for you to do something good for you...ha, that was funny. I told my daughter that I think I am going to stop eating, and then my tummy should feel better. She doesn't think that is a good idea ....but I have never tried it before, so who knows, maybe it will help...lol. Or just bland food from now on. Sounds boring. Love spicy...but recently, I think it doesn't like me anymore. I don't remember doing anything to make it so vengeful.....but it really has it in for me. I think it is time to part friends with my spicy tidbits.
I have been sleeping so well since I have been gardening ...what a beautiful thing fresh air and sunshine are.
Hope everyone had a glorious day !
-
sleep peacefully owlettes
-
blessings, your decision was a sound one and quality of life and traveling with your husband are each great reasons to stop taking it. Cant wait to hear about your adventures!
Tang, hang in there. They will get to the bottom of it. Sas! Where are you? Whats your advice?
Now im hungry for chevy's salad and its 10 at night!
Someone Open that window for ziggy to come in!

Can the moderators block someone? The reason I ask is that we are all looking for sas and I've noticed that the last time she posted in another thread, the moderators removed one of the posts and one said removed by the community.

Hi all!
I know I have been off for a while- headed back to page 441 to catch up! OMG you hens know how to chatter! So-, if y'all don't know what I am talking about- just pretend you do
I got to page 456 and the servers crashed - all this jabbering we do.
I am sure I am missing a bunch, but here goes the longest post ever:
For all you ladies that are having man issues, can i suggest some helpful reading? It is called "Why does he do that?" the author is Lundy Bancroft. Changed not only my perspective on romantic relationships, but work and friendships as well. It really helped me.
Yes- i do fiddle with cars. My daddy would not even hand me the keys to anything until I could complete regular maint. on both standard and automatics. He had my sister and I "driving" by the time we were 4 though. Oh boy- no child seat, sitting in their laps, beers in the cup holders. It is amazing we survived! And I rebuilt an engine with him when i was 7 or so. The BF and I really enjoy it together. Anyhow, fixing up my old car to give to a friends mom who can't afford anything and is driving a death trap (without a/c!) She's done so much for us over the years, the least i can do is give her my old beater. At least the air is cold and most things work on it
Just need to change out the hub bearings and put new breaks on it and it will be good to go! Gotta get it all done before it gets too hot.
Once that happens- I am going to bust out my sewing machine. I have so much to mend, and promised my favorite waitress a new apron 2 months ago (yikes!) And I am still trying to get the hang of knitting. I like it!
Blessings- your analogy for BCO being a dump station is good! sometimes, we just have to clean out the tanks! How is that finger? Kinesio tape is magic stuff. So sorry to hear about your DH. I really hope that he is able to continue for many years without dialysis. And I hope that your MO does not give you a hard time. You have to do what is right for you.
Nettie- those kiddos are too cute! your pooch is so handsome. Is your scalp feeling any better? What about your vertigo? my bff had it- i felt so bad for her. And what is with these dudes posting their fitness? I think they are trying to make up for our illness. or something.
Paula- so sorry to hear about your DH, but glad he has good days. I mighta left him in the lake though..
Susan- has it stopped snowing? any of your plants survive? Loved your adjectives post- i feel all over the place now. all the chemicals they pump us full of make a mess of everything- brain included! That bunny sweater is adorable! and YAY on your tests!! love your porch and garden.
Smarty- what a beautiful wedding! love all the things that were made. so creative! Hope your optifast is still working for you and your stomach is better. Your friends porch is wonderful. I wish it did not get so hot here- everything bakes from June- October. That quilt is beautiful.
Cam- Henna lasts for a few weeks. The first one i got took about 4 hours to apply, with a lot of breaks. Staying fresh and clean? or just fresh? Tomato warnings! hahaha! that still has me giggling
2nd- did you get your insurance mess figured out? Congrats to your daughter for all her achievements! Any word on the job? and <<hugs>> so sorry your DD is being a pill.
Pawprint, how are the infusions going? How is Annie Mae?
Chevy! Chicken sitting? do you do that regularly? I love chickens. My deed restrictions prevent me from having any though
Can't wait to move out on some land and not have neighbors! Glad you did not see any tornadoes. I love Shirley Temple too. She was so adorable, and seemed like a lovely lady. Your yard is so nice, even with all the hail. oh- cupping feels wonderful after it is all done. helps your muscles a ton. All those at-home remedies, most actually work. Vinegar is my go-to sunburn cure. and I still swear by Watkins salve for any kind of cold.
Badger- tissues on the pews- smart! and mmmmm- nothing better than fresh strawberries and any kind of cream, even if you include the oatmeal
Sas- oh the drama with the mods. I hope you got it all straightened out. You should be able to post whatever where ever. We need you! and dogs? my 2 looove to find dead things to roll in. They think it makes them smell nice! eeek! also- you are amazing- so much knowledge that you share with us- thank you!
Alyson- love you new photo- nice hat! Hope you are enjoying your trip. did you have some Becherovka for us? I am going to England in november for a wedding- can't wait. I love it there!
Teka- why are all your pics deleted? are you with Sas in the doghouse again ?
and quit egging summer on! Wish we could trade weather!
Tang- i understand the taxol/bladder issue. I thought it was just me! and the nerve issues too. noises irritated me so much when i was in chemo. My prophy side is the one that i have such bad LE in. It figures, we try to do the "right" thing, and get stung. Is the infection under control now? i can't imagine how much pain you must have been in. RE: BRCA- no one in my family has it, but I was dx at 37, my dad's mom got BC at 88, and she had 2 sisters with it, and we have about 20 cousins with it. They still have so much to map, I think it is an expensive test that doesn't say much.
Holein1- no pie? i can't imagine it!
Sounds like your garden is doing well, too. My av. is a photo of my friends and I at relay for life- that is me on the right holding the program for the night.
Dutch- how was graduation party? is your hand better? LE stinks! Dorothy Parker has been a fav of mine since high school. Such a wit! and congrats to your daughter!
Wren- is your ankle better? the news banner is annoying- it does look like advertising. Duck and Cover- they taught that for everything, like it would actually help.... and 50 years of marriage?- that is inspiring!
4444! how is your fin? your doves are precious!
MostlyMom- hope you are well and life is good.
Ziggy- n where are you? busy living the good life?
Chabba- We are grateful for you, too. and congrats on 4 years!
Luvmygoats- yes- the cats make me crazy hot (not in a good way) but they are brats, and so is the BF. he is the one that lets them in
Shoot- summer is settling in. not looking forward to it at all!
Wird- hi! I'm late with the welcome, but, Welcome!
Illady- Welcome to you, too!
FBB!! Your hospital story is something else! i am so so so glad you did not have to have another surgery!
Spookiesmom- my sister has fibro, sometimes i wonder if i am not developing it as well. Jimmy Buffett lyrics are the best! Friends that disappear- a few did that to me when i was dx'd. I think they just got chicken. But having ppl disappear on you for any reason is painful.
LeeA- the yawning cat is Niku- a big brat! always taking up my side of the bed. also- the loudest cat i've ever encountered. i love him though.
Well, they have me in early morning training again tomorrow - last day! My eyes feel like they are going to FALL OUT. I work a late shift and am usually up till 4 or 5 am since I have insomnia anyway. So I don't usually get out of bed before noon. They are having me clock in at 8, for training that is not going to improve my job at all. Corporate gobbledegook.
I am getting to go to a baseball game tomorrow night though. Can't wait!
to you all!
-
((Blessings)) & ((SDB)) here's a cyber hug to trade in for one IRL.
I'll be off the board for a while, headed on vacation to California. Will get to meet some of my BCO sisters and so psyched!
Must go finish packing. ♥ to all
-
The weather here in Southern California has been really nice Badger.
JWoo, my first infusion was today at 3:30 only a bazillion more to go
I finished up around 6:30. A little nauseous tonight. Annie Mae Is looking so cute as she looks straight up at the ceiling to hear things better. She really has great hearing. I got home late after infusion and made toast for dinner, with Annie Mae practically glued to my feet hoping I'd drop something on the floor for her. Had to get her and Snuggs some treats. No one eats alone in this house.
Tang, that's crazy you've had this bacterial thing the whole time! You would think the chemo alone would have killed it off. I dont know anything about it but i sure hope you feel better soon.
Where are you SAS ?

My husband has about 350 photos of Kauai that cycle on our television while we listen to music. One of them is of a rainbow eucalyptus. They're beautiful!
Here's a link to an article about them:
-
Jwoo, longest post ever! Yes, insurance finally settled. Thank you. At least one thing going right.
Sassy, missing you and hoping all is ok.
Blessings, now that I'm home, will check out email.
Badger, see you next week!
Everyone, thanks for your support! Have no idea what lies ahead but I've calmed down and my faith is taking over that everything will be ok, whatever that may look like.
-
Such beautiful trees LeeA, thanks for sharing the article.
-
You're welcome, Pawprint. I didn't know what they were called until I read Susan's post and I've never seen one on Kauai. Nature sure is full of her fair share of beautiful surprises.
-
Morning gals.... Smarty, you are right! Something just has to "click" to make you do things....
Like quit smoking, or going on a diet, or whatever.... but once you make that commitment, you can do it!
I quit smoking 3 times before I finally made it... but I DID it finally!
Going to WW wasn't easy either, and I thought it was expensive, but I figured if I was going to spend that money, I had better DO it, and make it worth it.... same thing... So I lost about 25 pounds....
But during this time I was so STRESSED! Maybe that helped...Ha!
Okay, I've also had a chocolate cherry-coke!
Nettie, I DO understand... Just think of yourself, and how you can ride happily through this "ride!" Just fasten your seat belt!
2222ndT! Your DD must be a teenager, because sometimes they tend to know all that there is to know in the world... And Mom's don't know diddly!
It's like somehow they "break-away" and their friends take over trying to show them that "life is what you make it" stuff.....
Can you write her a heart-felt letter, and maybe send it to her wherever she is? Just tell her how much you love her, but that things have been rough for you TOO, and you don't want to lose her..
I think it DOES all make sense, because most of us have been there...
Oh Cammi! Your job is keeping you "busy"..... So that means it keeps you off the streets, right? I'm so relieved! And I DIDn'T make Tree frog Chili and Water-bug bisquits...!!! That was a joke! I couldn't get the water-bugs to co-operate....
We can BOTH go swim somewhere... You can kick your legs? Well honey, that's got ME beat... I can sink though... We'll sink together...
Fierce, Susan & Netti! Hi-ya gals!
I don't know what's going on with Sass either, but maybe it's something we don't know nothin' about?
I SAW that she had a lot of posts removed from other threads... But I'm sure that she has a lot of PM's waiting, and that she would answer them if she could? So in other words, I don't know..
The SHADOW knows.... he knows everything.....
Susan, yes we are maybe all "nuts".... but then you never know... Maybe we are all here just to make each other feel better about whatever is going on.... We are all just a part of a big fruit cake...
I don't have much medical experience like some of the gals, but I forego that with wit. Now THAT was funny!
Wow JWow! I'm impressed! You even "bolded" the names, and talked to each of us...! Very GOOD young lady!
She's showing off Cammi!
No, I just chicken-sit when my neighbors go out of town! But it's fun to go over there, and "talk" with the "girls"...
And they give me eggs.
Badger, have fun on your trip! California is the best!
LittlePaws.... so happy to hear about Annie Mae and Snuggs! Yes, Tang, hope you are doing better!
2222ndT.... Yes, just take one day at a time... hopefully you will find some peace, and that DD will wake up..
Lee, I sent that link to my Daughter's... And I kept it in my favorites! Thanks... ! See we DO learn things on this thread!

Good Morning all
Chevy I learn a lot from these threads well not spelling but other hings from so many wonderful people. Abd Chevy I've also learned SOME people show off their skills of the computer, but not me, I keep mine so quiet I don't even know my own skills.'
I hope and pray everyone has a decent day today--I don't like pain and mental pain either, I like when things are even, but I know that's hard to do, but I can still hope Remember Patience is a virtue and virginity at this point is recockulous, so pick a virtue and stick to it, and somehow things work better. And seriously meditate if u can it does bring a peace inside of you that not a lot does.
What the hell is going on with SAS, doesn't anyone know--MODS do u know at least.
-
good morning ladies!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I will be resting up for my marathon walk tomorrow. Really excited about it cause I never thought I would b able to to anything like that again.
Isn't that bird beautiful ? If he was sitting in that rainbow eucalyptus tree, we would never see him .

I reposted this public post from the *CYP2D6 ability to metabolize tamoxifen and recurrence* thread.
Read the top & bottom of the public post ;o)
I've zero contact with *sas* off of the threads.
I am surprised that *sas* hasn't been *lurking* on the threads.

by sas-schatziI won't be posting here for awhile. I thought I'd put together my major thoughts re: CYP testing.
Testing if left to the docs won't happen. We have to learn it, to save ourselves
I'm
an advocate of testing for the 6 major players, and of any other
players in the future that are shown to influence life with chemicals. The testing is affordable with insurance. Insurance carriers and docs should be pestered till they test.
I
got so caught up in reading again, that I bypassed statements that I
meant to post here. Whew. This is hard stuff, but it's important.Starting
two weeks ago my PCP and I began to alter my drugs. It will be
interesting to see if I have less medication interactions and side
effects. We are looking to reduce drugs that use 3A4 and 3A5. Mine as you know are abnormal.
One
drug choice is metoporol (2D6 only) will replace carvedilol/Coreg(many
and 3A4). This will be started after minimum 2 1/2 weeks off Norvasc.Norvasc
uses 3A4 & 3A5. I am a 3A4- IM, I would need a reduced dose,
3A5--RM I would need an increased dose. Too confusing. We took the easy
way out, drug was deleted b/c of lower extremity edema (now improved).
It's class of drugs are nortorious for causing lower leg edema and
Norvasc is the worst. The bottom line is I have a tool to evaluate
the medicines going into my body. My hope is that the information
explosion on this subject will be better used by all practioners. That
testing for enzyme metabolism and using the knowledge to prescribe
medicines becomes the common approach.Taking a break
sassy
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn
out shouting "holy crap....what a ride". -
OK Teka maybe that's the reason---now we all know when Sas is on a ventur she does put 110% into it so I hope that's what's going on. Wow she has patience and fortitude and can figure everything out. She's amazing. I can't figure out an aspirin, why can u take it for a fever and then take it another time for a headache and it knows what to do??? I mean aspirin can be taken for aches and pains and everything. My mystery.
Susan I PM'd you. It's not a big secret it's just hat she lives in Illinois.
-
Wow, Jwoo – when you catch up, you really catch up!! Yes, Vertigo is gone for now!!
Scalp/head still has its moments, but seems to be less and less! And wow, when you say work on cars, you really work on cars!! I’m impressed! I can change oil and check stuff, but that’s about it!Teka, thanks for maybe giving us an answer about Sas! Boy she has some knowledge, I can’t even remember a tiny bit of that stuff! It’s sad when you have to push Doctors to do things that they should already be doing!I have a friend who is into all the CYP stuff, she does NOT have cancer, but has
been very sick, can’t even remember all the details, but she found out about
this testing and has had it done and now she is doing much better because they
now know what she can be treated with, at one point, the meds were killing
her! Go figure!Well, I did read, sorry I’m not commenting to everyone, but hope all have a wonderful
weekend!Woohoo, I have a dance to go to tonight, so I’m going home early for a nap so I can
enjoy! And yes, DH will be going, but he usually spends more time dancing with others than me, but it’s ok, I enjoy visiting with everyone! -

Enjoy the last weekend in May.
Come on Summer!!!

It's a good thing Spookie doesn't live up north with the dry air:

Have a good weekend everyone!
-
Just quietly hanging out.
-
I have a question that is probably going to make me sound stupid but here it is anyway:
What is it called if the BC spreads to the spinal column? And does BC have a tendency to do this?
I guess why I'm asking is that I keep hearing about spinal mets and I was assuming that meant it had metastasized to the actual backbone!
Sorry to be so naïve about this, just looking for some clarity!
-
Nettie, I am pretty sure that ANYone else can answer this besides me.... I KNOW that women on this thread have, or ARE going through this....
Your Docs or Onco should know this, and can answer your question.... They have all the tests to do this.... So don't worry, and don't go frettin' none, cause without knowing, you will just be a nervous wreck, maybe for nothing!
I know SOME women with pain in their back, think it could possibly be that, and it isn't! Looks by your DX, that you've had radiation AND chemo, and that should help you know that you are pretty safe...
I know Sass would also tell you to ask your Doc's! So since she is on some sort of vacay then the rest of us will have to take her place...Ha!
Maybe Sass will be back soon.... I don't know what happens, or why some of our friends don't post here anymore....It's that way with ANY thread..... But maybe they just go post somewhere else.... Yes, I came to the Insomnia thread too, because Sass told me to..... But I like it here, and even though Sass is not posting, I like the REST of you gals too! So I'm not leaving.
You are all my friends, and besides we need to accumulate more.... so please don't go......
