Ahhhhh..... nice end to a nice day.

Great morning at church... (late service, of course...) DH even wore.... a SUIT!!! (Santa was VERY good to him at Christmas... brought him two brand new suits - with all the accessories. He wore the black one to his mom's memorial service, and the navy one today. I kept not recognizing him without his fishing shirt and his Dockers on.)

Declined offers from friends to join them for Easter dinner... (no invites from family; we've turned them down for health reasons so many times, they no longer ask...)

I made potato salad and cole slaw and DH BBQd some chicken. We ate it with the BEST dipping/BBQ sauce - "Carolina Gold" from Trader Joes...

Then my 92 year old FIL came by around 4 to bring us some Easter candy. He had gone to church with our niece and her family, then they had a huge family meal at a restaurant.

I had made a gluten-free carrot cake this afternoon with cream cheese frosting... and we sat outside by the waterfall and ate our dessert and just talked. It was a nice peaceful ending to a good day.

O.K., all you folks with dysfunctional family members: send 'em to ME!

I don't do guilt, I don't do dysfunction, and I am the Queen of NO. I spent too many years and too much therapy on stupid mind games and other people's crapola, so these days, HOMEY DON'T PLAY DAT!!!! Plus, I need estrogen. I have a blow torch of searing words at the ready at all times.

Seriously, I love you all, and no matter what, there is not a one of you awesome women that deserves anything less than love and respect.

And on THAT note, I think I'll go wash off this makeup. One day a week is too much for me.

    Nighty-night, Sweet Owlettes!!!!

    xoxo

love all the peeps. Where do peeps go after Easter?

Chevy, this is medically supervised. And once a week meetings. There's 25 in my group, and certainly nobody that's a movie star!  I wanted a way to lose weight fast but more or less safely. We're monitored the whole time. Today I finally did all six meals, having a shake and bar now so I don't have to stay up late. I'm tire, I think it's all the water you have to drink, and all the running to the bathroom.

This week will be fun. Helping to move my MIL to assisted living. We tried this last November but she bulked and refused to move. She knows now that she needs to do this. Her short term memory is getting worse by the day. We'll see how she does tomorrow when we start packing up her stuff. She 93 and shouldn't be alone or driving anymore.

Smaarty, I will be thinking of you this week, have patience my dear! I had to get very sneaky last year when down sizing and moving mom's stuff (dad was ok on his own). Will you have to BCO this week for you to check in? Hoping is goes smoothly this time.

Ok, Blessings, will gladly send a couple family members your way! NO isn't the issue, I need YES. So far, no attention, respect, time... You get the picture

I don't know, where DO peeps go after Easter?

heading back to page 399, i feel like i missed ton!-

Daffodil SparklePop is my bunny name. Def. sounds like that OTHER kind of bunny :)

Sas, I think I missed you saying what was happening, but know that i am cheering you on!

Cam, hope Joey's foot is getting better. Good luck tomorrow at the dr, maybe they will send you home with good news!

Chevy, those chickens are so beautiful! I really want to have a nest of hens one day. Also- that "There isn't any food" meme= my life. I open all the cabinets, the freezer, the fridge, lots of stuff, but nothing to eat! That dog driving the car was FUNNY!

FBB- hope you are still doing well and feeling stronger everyday.

Teka, love that Twain quote. And the chicken egg machine- too funny.

Smarty- good luck with your diet. I am just trying to eat better and exercise, but am having a nasty LE flare that is throwing a wrench in things. I've go 70lbs to lose and just want to be able to do things. So frustrating. Maybe I should look into this as well.

Please keep up updated on how you like it and how it is working for you. HOpe your MIL settles into her new diggs without too much more uproar.

2nd and Chev, thank you, that is me, 2 years ago. I don;t look anything like that anymore. Isn't it strange how your face changes through life?

And those scarves are cool! A friend made me one for Xmas last year and I love it. I am learning how to knit at the moment, and am enjoying it.

2nd- i walked into the kitchen last night, smelled a strong chemical odor, noticed the dishwasher was on (was just coming to empty and reload.) So i sat there for a sec, realized that all the other dishes were still in the sink, and that my BF does NOT do dishes (mostly b/c he doesn't do them right so i don't let him.) Instead, he but CAR ENGINE PARTS in my new dishwasher. *sigh* i love that man, but I think he me send me to an early grave sometimes.

Dutch, hope you are feeling good right now.

Holein1- the chemo/rads/meds fog - we all have it and hate it. I'll be in the middle of a sentence and WHOOOSH! it is all gone. Makes me feel really stupid. even when I know I am not.

Wren, you and you r DH have cute bunny names! I loved Easter as a kid. Chocolate for breakfast!

Luv- that Snoopy was too funny!

Blessings, sounds like you had an awesome day! I am a little jealous! And i LOVE that your FIL brought you candy- too sweet!

Peeps are just gross. Esp. once they hit the Jersey Shore! ewwwwww!

2nd!  There is a man on the thread, and you PUT him there!  Ha, ha!  He looks so content!  Must be SOMEbodies' cookin'!

And GGH, yes, I DID want to call attention to that ever so visible blunder, but I refrained.... Why, I don't know....  I just figured  you really didn't mean your gold mine up in Leadville, like Baby Doe did...  So I let it go at that....  I'm not slipping, just didn't want to call attention to it like I normally do!

Oh yes.... this is the day that Sass has to bite the big one, and behave!

Give us updates frequently little Sass...

When it's all over you can come over for ...... wait..... what is it you can eat now?

Cammi.... I'm sure you know it, but our little Joey is just precious!  He says the DARNDEST things, like Art Linkletter would say!    I just hope you guys had a good time!   You must have all fallen in a pickle-barrel, and came out with all kinds of problems!

So then tell us how your appointment goes today...  Wish I could take you there....

Oh Cammi beat me to it!  See GGH, great minds think alike!  I read that somewhere.... once...   Yes, because Baby Doe Tabor lost HER mine... so you, GGH,  could have been in the same boat!  See how we assume, when we don't know nothin?  Or have clarification?

In honor of GGH losing her mine....

    http://www.babydoetabor.com/

And this is where she stayed... near her Matchless Mine...

    image

I read one of the books about her.....  so glad  you aren't losing your mine.  It could end up tragic.

Ah Teka.... Not AGAIN!  Okay.... just dump your family, and go find a new one...  One without Limitations this time!

Cammi!  I SAW that picture!  Of a Peep and a Camel?  Wouldn't have been a Camel around here the last 2 days....   Weed celebrations everywhere!  People are just plain nuts!  The nuttier these people, AND all the Politicians are, just makes me look brilliant!  They asked for it, and they got it.... Now they can DEAL with it...  so there.

YOU are right Blessings!  Dang, girl!   We need shot-guns around here!  And tell them to pull their damn pants up off the floor!   And that MUSIC, or whatever they CALL it!

So in one fell swoop, we could rid ourselves of ALL that aggravation!

Family members who are not nicely-nicely, can just line up with the others...  We got it covered...

Morning Smarty!  Okay.... it sounds safe....  Do you live alone?  I mean it would be easier to do if you didn't have to fix meals for anyone else!  Either that or have the will-power of a Saint!  Yes, I'll bet you might be weak!

I moved my MIL once... no... 4 times.... She was never happy about it.  AND a lot of work!  I should have moved her to the ditch first time she complained about it all.... but I didn't.  If you can get her out of the house, while you pack, it would be easier.... just sayin'.....

Yes Jwow!  Heard you were pregnant!  It was on E. network!   And so is that other little tart sniffy... or is it snooky?  All residing at the Jersey Shore ..... Ha!

Yes littleWoo.... not only your face, your neck, your arms, your EVERY last THING changes...   and drops .... and it is just not attractive, so we just cover all the mirrors and go on like we didn't notice!

Car Engine parts?  Sounds pretty normal to me...  If it fits, USE it...  that's our motto around here...No spare part ever goes to waste...  And no paint can ever gets thrown away, if even a DROP is in there, he will spray it away, on any subject that is within eyesight!  Painted one of our Daughter's bikes purple once...  She never forgave him!  I tell him don't even come NEAR the house with a paint can!

Well okay then.... I've run out of people to talk to...  Love you guys!

    xoxoxoxo

JWoo, I’m behind in my reading, so I’m not sure what shirt you are talking about, but I’m assuming it’s something to help with Lymphedema~ Anyway, I can NOT wear them, I’m too claustrophobic! I was in a dressing room once, trying on one of those cami that’s supposed to help “hold it all in”! well, let me tell you, I’m not really a large person, but I do have some rolls I like to hide, so I went into the room with, get this, an extra large, as I knew it would be difficult to get on, well, like you, I got stuck with arms in air, panicked and hollered for DH to come get me out of it!! He had to come into the ladies dressing room! I’m sure everyone around got quite a laugh, but I was not laughing then! So after that, anytime I know something is going to be snug, I step into it!

Never had trouble sleeping until things start hurting, then at the time, even if I get pain under control, the brain won’t sleep! I’ve tried all of the sleep meds and NONE work for me! The only thing I can take to help with sleep is the occasional XANAX which I never take more than 5 – 6 PER MONTH! Don’t want to become addicted!

2nd, nice scarf! I’m not crafty at all!!

I didn’t know there was a way to size the pics! So I guess any that I have posted have taken over the screen, oops! Sorry!

Cami, I see you live in Illinois, just wondering what part, southern or northern! I have family in Hammond, IN which is not far from Chicago! We used to go up every year when I was a child!

And I’m missed the post with all the Easter names, wait…. Let me go back and find it so I can find my name…..AH..found it, I’m DIZZY DOODLES!!

Crap, I just realized how far behind that I am, I take one day off and this is what happens!!

Well, I will catch up more later! Had an awesome tiring weekend! Everything that was supposed to happen, happened and right on schedule! The only glitch, DD got sick Saturday night and SIL called at Midnight for medicine, that was the end of my sleep! Then instead of DD taking GD to Sunday School Easter Party, DH and I took that job. So that was some added activites!

    Photo: Campbell family special announcement.......

Lucky me!! Going to be a grandmother(Nettie) again!! Actually twice as my daughter is also expecting! The two are due in the same week!! But DD hasn’t made it public yet!

And this is how we spent two hours Saturday night! She was all about dying those eggs!!

    image

Hope I didn’t bore anyone with the long, rambling post!!  And I too want to say sorry again about the size of the pics, don't know how to change it!

Nettie, no worries with the size of your photos, were old, they need to be big.

I am so jealous of you with all those precious grandchildren. My kids 28 & 31 are not even close to that possibility. Sounds like you had a fun, busy weekend.

Oh Sas I hope u feel all right--can't u war rubber gloves like for  crime scene, Oh just relax and tell us anything as soon as u can.

Nettie never, never say u'r sorry about anything--well unless u tell me u don't like me--which I would understand) U weren't ranting and u post was great I love to hear about everyone day(s)--I'm a word for word person, and u'r pics are adorable--u'r going to have babies all over the place. And it'll be fun for u. Personally I really start enjoying them about 3 months but everyone's different. And Nettie don't be so afraid of getting addicted to Xanax if they help u please, I never did, but they help me a lot.And when it's time that u don't need them u'll be all right--just help to make u'rself comfortable with enough sleep. OK?

All right off to the Docs blah

I feel like I'm already behind.

Cami - I missed what was wrong with Joey's foot but pray he/you/DD get good answers at doc's. Today or tomorrow? He is quite the old soul for sure. He will be quite a catch for a lady some day.

Smaarty - don't envy you the moving of MIL. DH and I have no parents left so the next ones to move will be US! My sis-in-law had his parents for several years b4 they passed within about 5 months of each other.

2TA - hope your Monday is better than your Sunday. I think even with family it's "me, me, me" and I see that in myself and DH too. I came home from church to find dishes put in dishwasher (great) but DH - "I unloaded the ones that were in there". Me - "did you look at the clean/dirty magnet on the front? DH - "No". Me - "Well they were dirty". DH - "I wondered why you stopped unloading them in the middle" DUH. Tried to remember what was in there but of course from the evening b4 couldn't remember all. YUCK. Found out I had already used one of the dirty plates. Thank goodness no raw meat stuff the last couple of days. This is not a crazy busy household so no reason for him to not look at the magnet. And it was turned the correct way - dirty.

Did you ever wish you could have met your FIL in some weird dimension at the age your DH is now? Would that have changed your mind? My FIL was a bit obsessive/compulsive but more like in a strict order of the way things had to be done, shopping on this day, lawn on this day, etc. Us visiting them threw a monkey wrench in that. By the time DH and I were married he was already retired x 2 (military, aircraft). I see some of this in DH now. I'm a worrier but not the gotta do it now my way kinda person like he is. I've learned just in the last few months that most of the time its just not worth my time to argue about anything with him. Just step aside and let him do it. I'm not going to win anyway he'll do what he pleases. Now I'm not talking about buying a mega bass boat/loaded pickup thing but more about making house repairs that I think are chintzy and will need to have a prof. redo when we sell this place. That kind of thing. So I just let him be. BTW our "twin" house around the corner sold recently after being on market about 6 months. Not quite twin since we added on and redid kitchen (which they did not saw pics on net) and we have more acreage and a sheet metal barn. Would love to see what it sold for. Tax appraisals are online here so after Jan. may appear with new appraisal/owner.

Wow Nettie sprouting Grands like crazy. I'm like GG Golfie no prospects for DD. I didn't have her until almost 35 but I was married since 23. She's about to turn 27.

I've been making snacks for Bible study in am. Composed this early this morning but didn't post it. Now storms about to break out so need to get stuff off computer ready to shut down.

Know I missed bunches of you. LIke SassyPants says LH&P. And you Miss SassyPants enjoy the outside and keep the glow minimized except to the nasty thyroid buggers. It's been 85 here, humid, you can feel the storm potential. Was Spookie near those sink holes though I did google "The Villages". Can't remember where she is.

Can't believe only a few posts since this morning. Sleeping in everyone? Cami - you off to doc today?

Because some people just don't know how to show their love!   Maybe they were never shown love and have a hard time understanding what someone else needs to feel loved.    I know what I mean, and just hope y'all understand this....

If we can learn to love ourselves a little more, then our un-happy times won't seem so bad, when we remember I won't let anyone hurt me.... I'm in charge.  And I can get through this...  because tomorrow will be better...

littlegoats. There was a sinkhole about a mile from me last year. Ate a house and a boat. I'm in a little city next to Clearwater, right on the Gulf. The Villages are about 2 hours north of me in the center of the peninsula.

Well, if I don't chicken out and cancel, the worry and wonder about all these aches and pains will come to end next week! I finally made an appointment for Wednesday the 30th!!  It was the earliest I could get in, now the problem is how many test will be involved to get to the bottom?  And will my nerves hold out until the appointment and then after during any tests that may be requested!!
