Faith, believe in MT, I have followed her since she came to BCO. She is wonderful in many ways. The key here is you are in crisis. Crisis demands an expert. MT might demure from expert status, but she is. We are so lucky to have her with us.
Here on this thread we change or shorten screen names. You may have noticed I changed your screen name to Faith. That's for a reason. You are in crisis. I have been in crisis for my self , family, friends, BCO friends. It's best to take hold of what you can at the time of a crisis. Take the best of sight, sound, writing.
FAITH the strongest word in life.
MY avatar is Picasso's the "Dove of Peace", but Picasso had several renderings of the same dove. Life has that same thing. Hang in there

Faith, between all of us here, we can help. Please let us try.

Oooops.....many apologies, I gave the wrong link for Share. It is www.sharecancersupport.org Share is a fantastic resource. The kind ladies there were a tremendous help to me when I was first DX'd. Many Share members are active on BCO - that's how I was guided here way back when!
Nothing can compare to the special relationships that are formed on BCO. Sometimes folks need more specialized guidance than we can offer. Share can provide the professional help that is beyond us. They also are very active in research and continuously publish updates. And I do not recall ever seeing a "study" there on how our attitudes affect the severity of our SEs from hormonal therapies, ah-hum. (looking of to the side humming innocently)

Lula, another Carolina Girl! And look everyone.....she's gotta be cool, She posted about gun safes!
I looked on Costco and that is a seriously awesome deal. I paid $100 a few years back for the same type except mine is a little bit smaller. I never knew Costco carried such things!
Here's Lula's safe for 79.99............
Costco has a wide range of sizes, all reasonably priced, starting at 54.99. There are a few that are fire and waterproof for storing files and important papers. The one below is 89.99. With all the crazy weather that has been going on the past few years, a file safe is really a necessity. Hmmm, maybe good for Christmas gifts?
Here's the link: Costco Safe Selections
Thank you for sharing Lula!

Shep, nice info on the boxes. I have two-----keys are lost or not recognized Oh well

Yes getting excited for the trip.

Hi Owlettes - I thought I would stop in here (little early) but wanted to get a lay of the land. Last night was up all night on QVC/HSN - I:ve got to stop that! SO, If I find myself shopping - I'll come here instead - catch up with everyone later!
take care!
-
Welcome Rijes. I think the stuff they give you with chemo prevents good sleep. Are you eastern or western US?
-
rljes ~ a shopping insomniac? Welcome! I find myself slowly drifting along the Amazon quite often. When I order stuff I usually forget about it so it's a nice surprise when the mail carrier rings the doorbell. I'm my own Secret Santa! 😛
Gosh it's been quiet here.........
DS drove me to looong day of follow-ups. Love my team. I was worried about a couple few things. They say I am doing goodish and no bad stuff to be concerned about - yay! I am staring in home PT today s my brain has once again forgotten how to communicate with the rest of my body. I have the same techs again, very thankful. Gotta rush to get ready as Miss Tammy likes to show up early. If I leave the door unlocked for her she'll creep all through the house looking for Pris Kitty - the woman is obsessed!
DS and I went to see a HUGE Christmas light display after my appointments. Hre's on pic for now. More to follow!
Chirstmas Carolina Style!

Welcome Lula and Rljes!
Eeyore, my lobsters were like mutated crawfish....not that big. Extra heads were from my SIL's lobsters. DH didn't think it was healthy to eat the head. No scientific proof, so I had 2.
Shep, that looks like it's from Southern California.
Busy accomplishing nothing again. Tata for now.

Finally seeing an end to this rotten cold
-
Oh forgot to mention that I got myself and Instant Pot ( cuz life demands instant almost everything) finally. Tried it out yesterday and.......
I think I earn a Master degree in undomesticated woman. Burned soup, burned boiled yam, and now burned stew with pressure cooking. Not aiming for PhD.
-
Hey Mommy! Take care and continue healing.
-
Thanks
-
Lover, love your sense of humor!
-
Loveroflife, very funny
But I think I beat you because I killed live bamboo plant by using miracle grow.
And I could not cook corned beef. Did not defrost and put it in microwave
-
Hi You guys! (gals)
Lover of Life - You are way to funny. the slow cooker actually told you that you burnt your meal? Hope you got a kiss out of it. Pretty fancy machine - does it talk? It could have told you in a nicer way! (Darling, a little less drinking please)
Don't feel bad - I got an "F" in Home Ec in school.
Yup, did it again - should have gotten on here instead of buying on Amazon last night. bad girl. I was up all night with mouth sores and eating ice. I was concerned I'd swallow and choke on the ice cube. Got some of the rx Magic Mouth Rinse Potion. Its helping a lot.
Wrenn - I'm in the Midwest "You guys" gives it away!
-
I'm in Seattle and we say "guys" too. Objects sometimes not just people.
-
Lover - that's what I would do w it too. I have a memory of my mom with the old pressure cooker. She was so afraid of it, when it would start whistling she would yell RUUNNNNNNNNNNN as she did an adjustment on top then hightailed out of the kitchen while pulling her shirt away from her back in case it exploded so she would not get hit by shrapnel. I am glad today's pressure cookers are safer.
-
My Mom wasn't that afraid of her pressure cooker, but she treated it with the care you'd use driving on ice. It was clear that she'd seen one explode in the past. MIL had a smaller one and used it all the time. She loved to cook and still had great dinners after she went back to work.

Snow is coming tomorrow for the first time this season. Expecting 3-6 inches.
-
Mommy, oh we beat you to the snow, in south Texas! We got some wet snow last night, first time since 2011. It barely covered the bushes, but shut down our power for 5 hours. This morning the traffic halted most business will not open until 10. This is what south Texan do with snow.
-
Wow! Good thing my hubby checked our winter supplies recently, we are all set for tomorrow
-
Has anyone heard from FaithonFire?
-
Eeyore, We lived in Houston when it snowed there. Neighbor kids woke us up at 5:30 to get the kids up to play in it. My Mom bought the kids rubber galoshes that they rarely wore. I put them all out on the front porch and said anyone they fit could have them. Offices built snowmen. How to celebrate snow right!

Hey there everyone,
Here it is another Friday again. It has been a busy week for me. I had a bone scan on Tuesday in Portland, then two other appts. on Wed. & Thurs. here at home. Today some friends took me to lunch for my birthday and it was yummy. Unfortunately, after eating that great lunch I took my Ibrance and for some unknown reason it caused me to be so nauseous. I had to go to Costco from the restaurant and of course they had all kinds of demonstrators giving out food samples. The smells just made my stomach churn.
Because it's been so busy for me I forgot today was actually Friday, I think I thought it was still Thursday. Anyway, I forgot to go volunteer like I normally do on Friday's. I'm gonna have to call them on Monday to apologize.
Here are new pics of my Kirby boy!
Kirby watching me sew on Sunday.
Speaking of sewing, I've had a special order for an apron for a woman. Her DH ordered it. The surprise was when I found out the size she is on top. 38K. I couldn't fathom just how large that is and had to Google it to get an idea. So now I have a pattern and the fabric and I need to make it this weekend. Will need to do some adjusting of the pattern to try and make it fit right. This is why I DON"T do clothing. But, I seem to have this need to make people happy and can't say "NO" sometimes. I hope and pray this works out since the man has already paid and is expecting the apron before Christmas.
Kirby wearing his new parka at the hospital on Tuesday where I went for my bone scan. It was 33 degrees outside. Thankfully we are having very cold, but dry weather. so far. Praying for it to continue so I can get to the airport on the 25th.
Shep, Sassy, & Loverly - Only 17 days left. Time is flying.
-
New to Owlettes. Love it if its a late night non-judgemental place that you can comment or post and no one asks why were you still up or oh you were up late. To much to try to explain.

Not sure if I am in the proper forum. I have had a rollercoaster of a day, but I am not in a crisis situation. Insomniac, yes that has become my new normal since diagnosis. Today I had my core biopsies done. I thought at this appointment that I would get more answers. My family doctor initially aspirated a cyst/tumour on November 13th. A week later he told me I showed positive for colloid cancer on the right breast. At that time he did not have the pathology results and said they had just called him to tell him. He told me what would happen would be mammogram, ultrasound, etc and that I would need a PET scan to yet to check for cancer in other organs. That I should call later for pathology results. I had the mammogram and ultrasound, which found another mass on the left breast. Today I had the core biopsy procedure and at this time I asked for a copy of my pathology results from the aspiration They said they didn't have them. I also asked for copies of my mammogram results and nobody would give these to me. Is this normal? I then asked if they would be scheduling me for the PET scan, I was told no your family doctor has to do this. When I got home I called my family doctor, I asked for my pathology results and was told they are not yet available (sample was taken November 13th) and then I said that he is supposed to get me the PET scan....then I was told to book an appointment to see him. By this time I am really frustrated. My doctor is a 1.25 hour drive one way and I have already missed a lot of work so I said no he just saw me so please give him the message. Am I being unreasonable in my expectations of getting my own results?
