Just finished my coffee and contemplating what to do first today

wren...viscofresh....2 inch topper. Every time I change positions.without topper, I moan to myself. When I finally get in a good position, I gotta go to the bathroom. Go figure. Had no problem, no pain, switching positions last night. It is really nice. This one got great reviews and 5 stars.
Morning all. Enjoy the summer day...we actually have another one today. Yeahhhhh. And I only work 2 hours, so I can be out in the sun today. Fun fun

OH OWLIES, I took a few days off and you are going like the wild fires. On top of that I was a day of in time. Couldn't figure out why Donnie was sleeping in. When he got up, I then find out it's Sat. BBL
-
Don't pass this by. Honest, her laugh is so infectious. It'd be nice to bring her out every morning to get the day started.
-
this is the life:) sitting on screen porch waiting for my next client. Ahhhhhhh
-
Jazzyjune- they have invited something for all those things you mentioned. It is called a "house boy" and I am looking for one myself! LOL!
-
Good One Jazzy! :0)
Shep - You ARE having technical difficulties. The pics you tried to post are showing up as blank boxes. I don't know why though. Four Wheeling? Maybe I'm just to practical or really like to avoid extra pain. Doesn't that hurt your spine and everything else, bumping along through those mud puddles?
So who DID start the fire and were the firemen handsome?
It is now 2:45 p.m. and I am still in my jammies. I need to design my quilt label and email it to the lady who will be doing it. Then I don't know. Been watching/listening to the local PBS station and the "America's Test Kitchen" show showed how to make a really creamy & tasty mushroom bisque. YUM! They began by microwaving the 3 types of mushrooms to get the excess moisture out. I don't own a microwave. Not gonna buy one either.
Well off to getting my part of the quilt label done.
-
post pic jazz..I love quilts
-
JunieB ~ Try looking now, I re-posted the pics. The Wal-Mart fire started in the frozen food section. There was an electrical problem with one of the big freezers. We like to think it was sparked by our hotness! Some of the firemen were cuties. Only thing sore was my ribs from laughing....my Jeep is super comfy to ride in.....plus we both took our pain meds before we left!
-
Susan, I love your enclosed porch! Your sleeping puppy is super cute!
-
We'll, the yard work is finally done. Tomorrow is fish tank maintenance day. Only takes me about an hour to do, between removing some water, changing the filter cartridge and putting more water in the tank.
-
Susan - It's just the crib quilt I did for my friends great grandson Clark. The jungle baby theme. I haven't had any luck in finding someone to machine embroider the label. Two ladies had problems with their software and their computers wouldn't talk to their sewing machines. One lady was in the middle of quilting 2 quilts for customers, another had a family crisis, and 2 others are out of town. Now one of the ladies with the software issues has had her computer fixed, so she's the one who is going to do the label, if all goes well. I really want this done before my surgery so it is done and off my "to do" list. Plus, Clark is now a month old. Dang!
Shep - Yeah, pics are now visible. Yikes! Scary to be in the store and start smelling smoke. Awww! Marti looking so sweetly at you.
Have any of you been paying attention to the stories in the news about the prescription databases that doctors are now using to check a patients' use of pain meds, and drugs like Xanax, Tramodol and muscle relaxers? It's a good thing, but I wonder how it will affect patient's like ourselves.
-
Mommy- you on break from classes over the summer?
Susan- porch is very inviting! Your puppy looks happy there!
-
Junie, Mushrooms will give up the liquid when they're sauteed as well. Microwave would just be quicker.
Yes, I want to rest on Susan's porch too.
-
I was going to say something about the rectangular boxes. Thank you JunieB for pointing it out to ShepK. Can always rely on free entertainment at Walmart.
How can anybody resists that sweet face of Marti?
Susan, Shelby looks so comfortable relaxing on your lovely screened porch.
Good for the mom with the Chewbacca mask for finding joy in the simple things of life. You know it's a good laugh when tears come out of your eyes and your side hurts. Love those priceless moments.
JunieB, the prescription drug monitoring program is designed to uncover prescription drug abuse in hope that this will reduce the abuse and diversion of controlled substances. I can see at least one flaw with the system. If the drug monitoring report of an under treated chronic pain patient shows he/she is getting pain meds from different providers (could be from ER or covering MD) , the data could be misinterpreted by the physician or pharmacist that the patient has patterns of doctor shopping for pain meds. SO, it's important that you have a good pain management doctor and a good relationship with your pharmacist.

Marti is sweet but her constant head bumps and nudging are really, really baaaad. I can only type now because she is asleep!
The hype about the drug monitoring is worrisome. While well intended, I'm afraid those of us in chronic pain are going to end up suffering. I have family in MA; the doctors up there are requiring urine testing for anyone taking pain meds before they can get refills. The patient also has to bring their medication to their appointments to have the remaining pills counted. Jeez Louise!
Susan ~ I have a viscofresh bed pillow and I love it. That mattress topper must be heavenly to lay on! Your screen porch looks lovely. Does Shelby let you snuggy with her on "her" sofa?
Off to snuggy with the kitty.........I hate when I forget to go to bed!

Jazzy- my break from classes started on May 9th. Taking a bit of a mental break before I apply to online to another college to finish my bachelor's degre
-
shepkitty, very good you caught that...I get pushed off our chair and a half....end up on the ottoman:) she is 15, I guess she needs her space to be comfortable
. What we do for our pets
Jazz, yes I remember the quilt you have been doing. Good luck with the finish. One month old....he will never know:). I have one that was made for me when I was a baby. Claire used it too and so will Elena.
Good morning girls...have a great day !!!!!
-
Good morning everyone! The sun is shining the birds are singing and my pool is waiting for 16 gallons of chlorine! It's going to be a beautiful day!
-
Mommy- that is great news you are going for the bachelor's degree! You go girl! I heard from another sister here on another thread she is going back to school to finish her college degree too. Education will never fail you!

Good Morning Everyone,
And Happy Monday to All.
I know I should not be surprised by other people who have absolutely no clue about the types of breast cancer, causes, and the treatments available, but I encountered a woman yesterday who told me several times that I need to drink more soy milk, and when I explained that soy causes estrogen levels to increase, and that estrogen is one of the things that feed some breast cancers, she had the audacity to tell me I'm wrong and shouldn't listen to my doctor(s). But then I need to remember this is also the same woman who thinks it's good to take fluoride pills too. I just makes me so angry when people completely refuse to learn that they need to make sure of their facts before dispensing unsolicited medical advice. Then I get mad at myself for not asking where she got her medical degree and how long has she been practicing.
Also, there was a story in the local news yesterday about a woman with stage 4 pancreatic cancer who uses a handicapped placard and came back to her car to find a note from someone shaming her for using a handicapped parking space because she doesn't appear to be disabled. She has started a blog called "Don't Assume". I certainly hope it makes those not dealing with this disease take the time to think before speaking.
Ok, I feel better now that I have vented. Thank you all for giving me the place to do so.

JazzyJune- one of the worst parts of having cancer is dealing with other people around your dx. Oh the advice I have gotten about why I got it, how to treat, it and what to do to make it not come back. The only people who have a clue about cancer are the oncologists, people who have gone through treatment, or have supported another through it. They are the ones who just get it. Everyone else just has a belief system around cancer and often, an opinion about the whole thing. When I get those lectures, my eyes glaze over and I just tune out and find a way to get away from the person.
That is a terrible story about someone judging the woman who had Stage IV cancer. I think people look at others and assume if they look okay, they must be. So rarely true. I hear a lot of the "oh well you are all done with that and back to normal now." Also not true, but just stopped trying to make people understand. More like "I am all done with you!"
People are anxious to judge others vs. understand them, yes?
Rant all you want. I hear ya!

My Mom had congestive heart failure and could only walk about 200 ft before having to rest. But she refused to get the handicapped sticker because her handicap was not visible. Dad, to his credit, would take her to the mall entrance, go back and park the car, and walk to the mall. When they left, he would do it in reverse.
Bumper sticker struck me as funny:
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes.
Then if he gets mad, you'll be a mile away and he'll be barefoot.
-
Thanks Jazzygirl!
Wren - I like that bumper sticker.

Forgot to mention a flyer I received in the mail regarding the Medicare Part B Experiment in which CMS wants to change the reimbursement to doctors for medications like cancer drugs based on a patients zip code.
Here is a link to a summary of the letter and in it is a link to the complete CMS plan and letter.

Got my grade today for class that I took recently. I ended up with a B
