Shoulder update. They're is hope. Viola, today at rest(medical usage) no pain. Range of motion, not full , but pretty good considering lack of much motion since injury. I would have expected it to be much more frozen. Stability--haven't tested it, but from the days that minute movement in any direction was trouble. I'll take this. The click is still painful, but not as serious as before. Been evaluating it each weekend as the benchmark for improvement.
Fall Feb 5th. this is week 5

MammaRay, Hugs sweetie, sorry it's still going on. How's the baby?
To everyone, I forgot to put the hyperlink for mema. I said she was in a funk and maybe a PM shower word help her mood. Here's the link. mema4
jacfin thinking of you too.
Mags, sounds like oddles of fun. Nice to have a couple that you are compatible with.
Loverly, you've just done wonders with Mitsy. Just think what she was like just a short time ago. Please, they're several that don't know her beginning. Do you mind telling her story?
Lookie?
-
Another nice day on the books here!
-
Cubbie - Glad to be of help.
Mags - Sounds like you had a great time. I need to start stepping out of my comfort box and experiencing some new things. I'll have to check if there is a Jazz Club nearby.
MommaRay - I am fairly new to this thread and don't remember seeing a post by you, so just want to say "Hi" or as PattyP would say "Hootie Hoo"
Mommyof2 - OMG! Public speaking. Will NEVER happen for me. When I took some classes in college I had to do a presentation in a computer class and nearly passed out. All I remember was reading from an article in front of the class and had a sensation of blackness. Then when I returned to college a few years ago (pre cancer dx) I took two communications classes (have no idea what I was thinking). One required I be part of a group presentation and just before my portion I had an asthma attack, but I managed to come back and do my part, but still that sensation of blackness. The next semester I took another communication class that was in the setting of a men's prison and again I had to do a portion of a presentation in front of my college/prison classmates. I took Xanax that time, but barely made it through. NEVER! NEVER! AGAIN. I give you immense credit for being able to go through with your public speaking.
Sas - Other than cleaning out my ears and palliative care suggesting the motion sickness med., nothing has been done thus far. Although palliative care nurse did call on Friday to check on me. But I was feeling OK at that point, but the dizziness returned shortly there after. Took a decongestant which seemed to help a bit. NP in palliative care did say however that if I start to experience nausea or vomiting, to go straight to the E.D. None of that yet. Thankfully.
I am glad you are making progress in the shoulder recovery. When we are healing it just feels like it's taking forever sometimes. I know patience is a virtue! Hmmm!
After making my last post at 4:00 a.m. I still couldn't sleep, so took one more med, then slept until 12:30. So I didn't make it to church today. Rats!
Goodmorning Loverly - I enjoyed your minion pic. So true!
Update: I spoke with the genealogy lady today and she was able to give me more info on my paternal side. Apparently they came from the South. Alabama & Georgia. Grandfather was a bricklayer & Great grandfather was a stone mason. My grandfather worked 15 hours a day for $1.00 a day. How the heck did anyone live on that? I realize the cost of living was much different then, but I wonder what $1.00 a day would be in today's money. Still not much.
Also, it appears that my biological father was married two times after he & my mother divorced, and was divorced for they same reason from all three. Cruelty and Abandonment. Geez! what a legacy. I really think it was a blessing I wasn't raised around him. Plus, it might explain why I've never married.

Good afternoon friends- Loveroflife checked in with me today to be sure I was okay and just wanted to say hi and say yes I am! Been SUPER busy with work and also this week I had layers of things going on that had me running hard every day until today. Work, tax stuff to finish for accountant, biz dinner, then a friend in town from Thursday evening until this morning. On top of DLS today, I dropped her off at the airport at 6 a.m. this morning (hardest spring forward day ever!)
Spring is busting out all over, although we were up in some of the NW mountains yesterday and it was snowing!
Today this beautiful red tailed hawk visited my back yard. I love the combo of the bird and the green buds on the cottonwood tree where he was perched.
Loverly- not sure if you were talking to me or JazzyJune, but yes, birthday in two weeks on day before Easter. Heading north for that weekend to the hot springs.
Hoping everyone is doing okay.

Jazzy, what a fun week. You have built such a wonderful group of friends and nurture the relationships so well. I respect that you build outside diversions into your life. Alburqurquee(sic) is such a fun place. Believe it or not more fun than Cocoa or Cocoa beach. So many cruisers and beach seekers here not much for locals. Duh except all the Orlando attractions ----------that's funny. AND the space center. My fav is the wild life refuge, but the bird population has changed so much. Not sure what to make of that.
Everyone, request a short prayer this week that I survive Donnie's brothers visit. Never had anyone around me quite like him. I tell you the story once he's gone.

Mamma Ray, I know that you know AGMC was bought or contracted with Cleveland Clinic. Must have been bad if you felt local care couldn't have been directed by CC. It's a hike to CC from Akron locale. I get though if you feel that local care isn't doing the best they can for you. CC is premier in the world for so many things.
So wish you didn't have to travel to get the care you feel you need. Are you going to a specific Doc? Programs are very much doc driven. My Thyroid doc came from Mayo to Moffitt in Tampa. He said I could be treated on this side of the state now(this was last year). I said I wanted to be treated there b/c of the difference in the radiology department. He brightened at that and said that was what caused him to move to Moffitt. You could tell that he was happy that a patient recognized the difference.
I have a thyroid ultrasound from each place done within months of each other. With thyroid cancer it has been learned that mets is going to go through local lymph nodes first. Different than other cancers. Moffitt ID's every lymph node and numbers them. Local US doesn't have a clue ---no dode identification. The two reports side by side--------joke. Sent both to DS the lawyer to add to his teaching file for newbie lawyers of what a good report and a mediocre(standard report) looks like.
More Hugs Mamma, this is chit, but never know what may come. There is no rhyme or reason for any of it. I know you are grabbing every day. Believe that He is with you, even when it sucks. LOVE&HUGS&PRAYERS'S ---L&H&P's sassy
-
MammaRay- sending you hugs tonight.

Hello Everyone!
Just signed up so I could drop in here when it's just me, my dog, and seemingly not another soul for miles!
There's comfort just knowing I have a place to "go," when I can't sleep.Look forward to chatting with many of you soon!
-
I will be getting the one on the far right on my way in to the client site tomorrow!
-
Junie, you still didn't go back and find my response about being safe and Blessings response about vertigo. That's okay sweetie. It works out that I needed to do it for my teaching site and asked Blessings if I could add her post to my teaching site also. Just hope you don't fall on your face. I do that allot b/c my right ankle is dead set on trying to kill me. Approximate ten closed head injuries on the left side of my head b/c my right ankle foot failed me. Several dozen falls over decades, but only about ten involving the head. Most recent injury is of the shoulder that you may have read a report about. Part of that fall was another closed head injury. That healed quickly. The long term consequence of another closed head injury. UGH, not good. OH well, ...........
-
SNAPPPY, LOL we are here 24/7. WELCOME. PROUD you chose us first Ya'll come back now. Noticed you had a helmet on. I should wear one LOL
-
Sas - Sorry! Yes I did read your post about the precautions and thank you very much. Thus far I've only had one episode that brought me close to falling on my face. That was in the middle of the night on a trip to the bathroom. I got so dizzy that I made a quick turn back to the foot of the bed and flopped forward. Such a freaky sensation! Plus, I also read Blessings information as well and thanked her for her advice. Also, please remember "We don't bounce like we did years ago!" Take care of yourself.
JazzyGirl - Just as a heads up, since our sign in names are so similar, I've been dubbed JunieB by Loveroflife, which I love. So, in the future if you see Jazzy, then it most likely is being directed to you. I am glad you've had a good week, even if it was busy.
The birthday wish was definitely for you, since mine is in December. Plus, I love your pic of the different sized coffee's. I've already had my 2 cups today and feel like I need more.
I have another update on the family tree: I really hope I'm not boring anyone with this drama I find myself in right now. I am completely overwhelmed right now with all the info. that has come to light in the last couple days and I'm not quite sure how to process it all.
Anyway, since my last update I am pretty sure I have found my half sister. The lady helping me found her on FB and she is married w/ two sons and lives in Ohio. I also have a phone number for her, but I am not ready to try and call her yet. My head & stomach are spinning and I feel like I want to just go curl up and hide, but that is no solution.
Catch you all later.

H I everyone finished my second knitting class this week. I am posting a picture of my first completed project ,hand warmers. Smaarty you where right it does come easier with practice. Susan you are very talented, maybe someday l will knit like you. I had no idea that wool was so expensive, it was quite an eye opener.
JuneB what a story about your Dad, sounds like your mom had a very rough time. Finding siblings would be nice though. Hope you are feeling better.
Snappy welcome to the group.
Mama Ray hope you have better days ahead.
Sass house guests are always interesting.
Jazzy a weekend with a good friend is a nice way to relax. Hope things slow down for you next week.

In 1996, with my Mom having survived a critical illness. I recognized something I did with her might be worth trying to paten. Greg and I believed so strongly in it that we spent 850$ with a paten lawyer. Considering Greg was layed off at the time, it was a risk. When the lawyer returned from doing the paten search he was so funny. He was so excited that it had only been patened 14 months before. To me, it was well that means to me, I don't get the patent. The only thing I could figure was maybe most of his searches didn't get that close and he thought that was --cool. His search went back several hundred years. I watched like a hawk to see where the guy that patened it was using it. Joyner at the next Olympics was the first to wear it. I was screaming at the screen calling for Greg to come see. Then lot's of basketball guys started to wear them. Now all over the place. Made my patent lawyer happy that day. Still don't know what that was about.

I used Wilson over the knee tube socks to keep her dressing in place. Super fragile skin. After I created a skin tear with a dressing I thought how can I not do it again. Hence the sock. Tube socks had no seems, thus no pressure areas. I cut the toe off and that end went up the arm. The interlocking stitch didn't allow it to unravel. It just rolled on itself. The finished edge that would have been at the knee was at the wrist.
At the end of one week her skin tears were healed and the area covered by the sock all the black and blue areas were gone. The back of her hand was still black. So we unfolded the band at the wrist, cut a hole / slit in the material for the thumb. It was the anchor to keep it from riding up. At the end of another week the back of her hand was now normal. She then told me how unhappy she had been with the way her hands and arms looked, but thought nothing could be done. It was nice to see her so happy.
After I didn't get the paten, I just shared with patients the use of Wilson brand over the knee tube socks. When I started seeing folks come in with them, it was cool. Word was spreading.
I still have some and where them when it get's cold. Not only saw a use for the elderly in Mom's scenario, saw any outdoor activity where an extra layer on the arms was good. It was a multiuse thing.
In the patent report lot's of paten designs had a similar concept except they made it dependent on straps versus no straps. It was worth the risk, LOL and a good learning experience. The lawyer was fun. He's spent years in the patent office in Washington and moved to Cocoa b/c he wanted to surf.

Hi I can not sleep despite Xanax.
It's probably daylight savings. Anyways. Has anyone ever experienced a lymph node recurrence. I have no breast. I've had chemo/rads/hormone therapy.
Now it might be back in my lymph nodes on the opposite side. I go for a Biopsy this week. I do not understand why they cannot take the whole thing. Ugh.
As soon as I lay down I have a panic attack. Yuck
-
good luck fun thing. Hope it's negative. Mine did come back in nodes. But that was 4 yrs ago, we r treating it, and still having fun in life . When my "relaxing" meds don't seem to work, I add a little proseco. But you didn't hear that from me
Hope you fall asleep soon !
-
Sassy, you need that helmet just to navigate around your house, girl. Never knew someone so toe stubbing prone! As far as the sleeves, those might work for my lower calves that never warm up, even when my feet are on fire. It's all neuropathy, just different effects.
JunieB, our Jazz Lab is called that because it's connected to the music department at the local university (University of Central Oklahoma), and the students use it. My friend's group has been playing about once a month for a long time. You can check out their music at missbrowntoyou.com
Welcome to the new gals, Snappy and Funthing, Chevy will be along in the morning to christen you with new nicknames. -
Ok, this is really weird. I posted about an ago, but the post is no where to be found. Ugh!
Sas - Is that a compression sleeve in the pics.
Lookforward - You should be very pleased with the completion of your first project. It looks great and your stitch tension looks excellent as well. I love knitted lace. I hope you get a chance to try it later on.

Good evening ladies!
I'll be glad when all the states pull their heads outta their behinds and legalize MJ across the board. It's about the only thing that really works for sleep for me. Also, when they quit with this ridiculous DST. Studies show it now wastes an incredible amount of energy, as we are all inside.
Anyhow- glad to see Patty P is still causing trouble!
Welcome Snappy and funthing!
MommaRay, glad to have you back!
JunieB- interesting and exciting that you are finding family. I hope it turns out well for you.
Suffering from the cold some stupid woman gave me on the plane. I promise I didn't punch her when she sneezed on me, but I can't say that it didn't take all my energy not to.
My time in Seattle was great though. I got to see my friends, most of the tourist sights, and some beautiful countryside. Here are a few shots:
On the ferry to Orcas Island in Puget Sound
from the tower on Orcas
Me and my friend Chris that I went to visit
on our hike
At the Seattle Aquarium:
And of course we had to go check out the Space Needle. (but i am afraid of heights, so we stayed on the ground)
a great 4 days. I would move there in a heartbeat if I would get my BF to go.
well, I am going to finish watching GI Blues, an try to get some sleep. I have my quarterly check in with my MO tomorrow. Wish me luck!
xoxox- jeni

I agree Mags, she needs one of this:
The helmet, not the baby. My nephew had one when he first learned how to walk.
-
WELCOME Snappy and Funthing!
JunieB, shhhhhh I missed church this morning too. Stayed home and finished up my BSF. Studying the book of Revelation this year. I have to say I don't like it. Tough book next to Romans. Thank you for sharing your family history. Not bored by it at all. Hope your half sister is interested. I would be nervous too.
Jazzy, it is a blessing to have friends who are soul sisters. I need the one on the far right for tomorrow too. They need to leave the time alone!
or maybe I will just take it like this guy:
Funthing, I am sorry the anxiety is robbing you of your sleep. Hate the roller coaster ride.
Ms. Sas, progress in your shoulder is a good sign. Amazing how our bodies heal.
Forward, nice hand warmer. I think the last time I learned how to knit was maybe more than 25 years ago. Terrible at it.
Jwoo, lovely pictures of Washington. You look like a high school girl in that picture. And btw, the writing on your sweat shirt is not what I am thinking right?
MammaRay, head better?
-
Well chugged my coffee this morning, got hubby off to work and so now I am planning on what to do next that will get me in trouble lol
-
Good morning friends- I woke up before the alarm and slept well last night. A gift for sure as I head in to the work week.
Loverly- I was circulating that Starbucks pic yesterday here too and definately need a DLS sized coffee this morning!
Sassy- that is very cool what you and your DH worked to invent and patent. Everything in life teaches us something we need to know, right?
JWoo- love the photos! Pacific northwest is so lovely.
Welcome new friends!
Good luck adjusting to the time change, and to welcoming the daylight back in the evenings for those here in North America!
-
Hi funthing, welcome here. I've had other stuff, but no node occurrence.
Loverly and mags--too funny, I would love the baby. I may give the helmet some thought. The foot/ankle doesn't work right b/c of polio, never has. Going to talk with ortho doc about a brace. Ugly suckers, but I don't want to check out for awhile, Hx on the foot ankle thing is putting that in jeopardy.
Litlle Loverly, trouble sleeping?
Junie, the saga of your family search is fascinating. Please, keep the stories coming
The sleeve may have some compression. The one I made didn't, it was just toasty warm and spongy. Like a second skin.
Lookie, this houseguest is a bit nuts too. He has a cold. I started the other day and he was 24 hours behind me. Says he doesn't have a cold. Coughing and sneezing for the 3 of us. His is from my pool. Too much salt water. He's not drinking it. I guess he thinks he's absorbing it. I said you really don't recognize that you have a cold. He threw a tantrum almost. Okay, okay subject closed. I'm afraid to open my mouth about anything. He yelled at me twice in front of Donnie the other day. It was cool how Donnie set him straight. But then he drifted back to it. He gets angry bb/c i can't hear him. When I ask him to repeat, he screams in anger. Last night I asked him to not yell at me in anger. that he can raise his voice without being angry. I said "Jesse I see hatred in your eyes." He said "Yes they're is are you happy now." Told Donnie what happened last night. He was ready to say it's time he left. I don't know whether to try.
JWoooohooo Seatlle looked fun. Too many grey days in Seattle. It's number one in the country. Akron/Clevelandeast to Buffolo is second b/c of lake effect. Too Grey. After being in Florida in the sunshine for a few months I said never agin would I go grey.
-
Patty and and MamaRay - nice to see you.
Best wishes to both of you for health and treatment.
-
morning owls.
I'm home, got one house put together and put these together. Found a new quilter so I should have it done by the end of the month.
