Thanks Sass, and Chevy and Wren and every body. Okay guys, I can see I need to tell my DR that I fell over again, I dont have a cardiologist, hope I dont need one. My Onc is an internist first before she studied Oncology. I see her in a month. I am being really careful. I am also giving serious thought to Chevy's "Making more room to fall over." I also realize I have fallen 7 times since we moved out here in 2010. Three times in this 10 months.

I am flat out upside down on my sleep today. I got up at 7:30 last evening. It is 7:40 AM now. I will try my hardest to stay up til evening because that will put me back on an early riser schedule, which I love!

Thank you all for being around, I mean, seriously whoever can one tell these crazy stories to? Thank you!

    Happy Valentines Day!

    Love Ginger

Oh wait! You are all "straight" ???? I don't care anyway.....

When I was in grade-school.... WE had a principal and her name was Mrs. Queerie..... I was just scared to even call her by that name. I'm SURE she was just fine, but me and my little Brother used to whisper when we were talking about her.....

And talk about head injuries??? I told you when I was about 14, I was taking "acrobats".... and we were at the "Armory"... it had a wooden gym floor.... and we were practicing on it.... Our teacher and his friend were swinging me around by my wrists and ankles...... Like I was a jump-rope or something..... And they were supposed to then .... wait..... I don't know what they were supposed to do.... I THINK catch me, as they both let go and I was up in the air in a back-bend.... I'll bet I was lovely.....

So I slammed down on that gym floor on the back of my head.... I remember the teacher taking me home.... and then I had amnesia for 8 hours.... I came out of that, but lost all my memories of all of my school years.... except Mrs. Queerie.

I think amnesia works different in people... I didn't come out of it all until I met George.... I was in my best friends wedding as her maid-of-honor, but I only know, because she showed me her pictures... I remember parts of working for the phone company... I must have acted normal..... But I remember all of my life SINCE I met George.... Not before....

But I think that sometimes as you get older, your brain comes alive! It wakes up, or different parts start working again.... AND that you shut-out things that have hurt you, and that you aren't SUPPOSED to remember!

So you guys are my friends.... I love talking and teasing you.... Who else can I drive nuts? I just like to make people laugh, and forget what is hurting them, if even for a little while..... So.............. YOU make me who I am !!!! Never admit to being forgetful.... or senile..... We don't need that pressure..... Just pretend..... Pretend that you are always happy and sensible..... in other words FAKE it! We've all done THAT before ..... right? image

Sass, Thank You.... that was a great compliment! Now don't go deleting it......

Sas I agree there are definitely several ladies on the boards who would give the SNL team and Tina Fey a run for their money. (We are big SNL fans here)

Hello to all, I am on HOLD, costumer service call for a double charge on credit card......arrgg......I had a bad feeling about this from the beginning. VRBO/home away, to rent a condo. This could take all day.

CHEVY, we love that you are here for us, making us laugh.

Damn, they just hung up on me!

Feeling feline, I enjoy SNL.....mainly for the political humor. Comes on late though.....

Susan, thinking of you.....check in when YA can.

I walked 3 miles this morning, to breakfast. Chilly, but felt good to move. I am ready for spring.

Ok, think I got the credit card fiasco fixed. 45 minutes on hold.....

Chevy, oh, wouldn't delete it and meant every word. You are a unique humorist and so enjoy your posts. I do wish that Cami was back here. The two of you together were amazing.

Ginger, that many falls does say that you need some detective work done. See Orthostatic Hypotension could be from vascular slow response, nerve innervation not working right, or intermittent heart rhythm block. Also, for completeness of the rule outs for this type of hypotension, medication would be looked at as a source of the problem. Any of the four could cause the same problem, but they are all managed differently. The detective in this case would be a cardiologist as a first line choice, b/c of the systems involved.

For myself, the origin of all my falls for decades has been my right ankle and the forefoot not lifting right. Just today Donnie and I were talking that I somehow have to get this well documented b/c if I were to have a fatal injury involving head trauma, my ankle would never show that it was involved. For example, it never bruises or swells. A post mortem would just indicate blunt head trauma. In that type of situation they always look at the significant other as a suspect. This isn't said morbidly, it's just a truth. I wanted my Donnie protected.

Love all you Owlettes :) Happy Valentine's Day.

Good morning ladies & Happy Valentine's Day!

The breed of dog I am waiting for is a "Cairn Terrier" (like Toto). I had one for 14 years and adored that little guy. I've checked the Cairn rescues, but they require a fenced & gated yard, which apparently they come to investigate prior to adoption. I live in an apartment. Plus most of their available dogs are 5 -15 years of age and they don't let you choose your own dog. They decide which one would be best suited for you. By going through a breeder, I get to choose exactly the one I want. I do understand the rescues' need to make sure each of their dogs finds a suitable home, but their method just doesn't work for me personally.

The breeder is located near Spokane, WA and told me that the pups temperament/personality becomes apparent at about 5 weeks, then they are ready to come home after 8-10 weeks of age. She will ship a pup, but I think it would be tooooo scary for the little guy, so I'll go and pick him up myself. It's only an 8-9 hour drive each way.

Holeinone - it's so frustrating to have to deal with some customer service people. It seems they never think about how THEY would feel if it was them in your shoes. I recently had an MRI and when the technician brought me my bag that had my pain meds AND debit/credit/etc. cards, the MRI magnet de-magnetized them ALL. I had to call everyone to order new cards. Boy oh boy! who'dah thunk.

Gingerbrew, I am so glad you didn't suffer any serious injuries from your fall. When I read your post describing it, I took a huge breath for fear of what you would say had happened. My own mother is 80 and lives in a two story condo and I worry that she'll fall with no one around. Thankfully she has one of those Life Alert thingies.

Teka, Even if your neighbor is quite a pill, we are only accountable for own choices/actions, not theirs. Besides, you never know when one small act of kindness could have a major impact on someone. I have a couple neighbors who test my patience on a regular basis and I have to pray, "God give me your strength", cause I sure can't do it on my own.

Holeinone we really enjoy the political sketches too. Loving their crazy obsessed "Hilary" at the moment. We watch it after broadcast on the net so don't have to have problem with the late broadcast time (which I think would be 4am in the morning our time - yeah that's definitely pretty late!)

    Fun Valentine's Day Tip:

For the cost of a dozen red roses, you could get a pitcher of beer and a dozen wings. Prob even pay for parking too

Every Valentine's Day card in history was signed on the dashboard on a car in a Walgreen's parking lot.

    me: happy valentine's day jaden

jaden smith: the more time we spend awake the more time we spend asleep

me: the hell does that even mean

JuneBug love Toto dogs. We raised a couple of litters of pups. Brittany's. It was such fun to watch them develop. 21 pups with different personalities. Lot's of work, but they were great dogs. They were all house trained by 5 1/2 & 4 1/2 weeks except one. Figured out which one when he left to go to Chicago from Akron. All whistle trained and command trained to sit, stay, down, quiet, and a couple more forget. Hand signal to sit. All by the 6th to 7th week. We didn't know that if you let them mate often in the receptive phase that can lead to lot's of pups. Sure did in our case. When you get your baby remember to post lot's of pics :) Are you going to get a male or female? Any names in mind yet? My Schatzi's birthday is today. She's nine. We chose today b/c my DS named her Schatzi which is darling or sweetheart in German.

    Loverly, How's Mitsy doing?

to much chatting going on for me to catch up. Feeling better..yeah. Hubby made a trip to the emergency room for kidney stones.yuck. First time for him. Thank god for friends. My whites are way to low to enter emergency room. So the nice paramedics and our friend took him. Pain meds are beautiful. He is out shoveling snow now. Silly man.

Hope everyone had a beautiful Valentine's Day

Thanks for all the well wishes. Just my usual rollercoaster. No worries:)

sas - I will get a male. The names that are floating in my brain are Kirby, Finley, Georgie. But I'll have to see his personality to decide for sure. How in the world did you get your pups trained so quickly? I was thinking maybe 6 months, not 6 weeks. I would like to have a low key dog so that I can take him to visit the hospital, etc. However Cairns can be high energy with a strong hunting instinct. They were originally bred to hunt rodents underground. Of course mine will not be trained for that. Do you have German heritage? I do. My mother was born & raised, I was born in Wurzburg and came to the U.S. at 10 mos.

Please tell Schatzi "Happy Birthday" for me. Time just flies so fast. One day they're pups and then before you know it they're seniors. Ugh!

Loverof - what breed of dog is your Mitzy? I had a dog with separation anxiety named Jackie. She had been dumped in the Las Vegas desert as a baby, but was rescued and I got her when she was 1 1/2. She was terrified every time I left and chewed things up so much that I tried to take her to the no-kill shelter in Utah, but they wouldn't take her. Then I had a foot surgery and was home for 8 weeks recouping and Jackie and I got to spend some quality time together and bonded. After that she NEVER chewed another thing again, except her chew rope & tennis ball. I guess maybe she knew I wasn't going anywhere by then. I had her until she was 16 1/5. She was a great dog.

There are Earth Dog Trials for the terrier breeds. I've only heard about, never seen them. Seems a great way to have fun with your pup, and they get to do what they were bred for. And training is a great way to focus all that puppy drive. I trained obedience and agility with my Aussie. That helped with him.

    Hey Susan

JunieB, the SPCA had her down as a Belgian Malinois shepherd mixed. She looks more like a Dutch shepherd to me. Thank you for sharing your story of Jackie. I know that Mitzy need to learn to trust that we will come back for her. She was surrendered by her previous family for barking too much. We find it hard to believe because she is quiet most of the time (when we are at home). She used to howl and bark when left alone. She had tore up three dog beds and one pillow. We have had her for three and a half months and it has been over a month since she last tore her bed or trying to destroy her crate. Yay! Your story of Jackie and Ms. Sas' story of Dini give me hope. She is a very sweet dog. Tail is always wagging and when she is really happy (especially when she sees us first thing in the morning or when we come home), she does the windmill wag. You don't want to be anywhere near her tail when she does that because it hurts. This is her.
