Mags, is the big guy part RodesianRidgeback?
-
-
-
He's 90 lbs of mutt, with some pit bull leanings. Rose is a schnoodle.
Rose will be 9 this month, Nacho's a bit older
-
I was just wondering because of the way his fur is on his spine.
-
I am loving all the animal pictures. Just thought I'd check in. Finally got my insurance company to agree to CT scan after I agreed to first do an ultrasound. Ultrasound picked up the liver tumor so CT was recommended. So insurance ended up paying out more money instead of allowing the doc to just do the yearly CT. Not much else going on. Finally getting some rain out here in Southern California. Hope the New Year is good for everyone. Hugs to all

Annie Mae, has no eyes, but hears me unwrapping a cheese stick and wants some

Spookie, What a great idea. We are so many loving fur people. You have unleashed us. I so would love to take a video of Shat's and Dini on the run. It's a 1.8 mile corridor with about total 30 yards wide(thinking football yards). Canal on one side. Barbered wire on the other. Have they gone through both --yes. Rare, but has happened. Leads to new rules. We take them early am and the afternoon. Time varies. Not when other dogs are present because they are off leash. People and trucks in area, we make friends. Dini has to smell tires, Shat's has to say hello, but knows not to put her paws on the cabs.
What is so cool is the dogs know the rules. Run on the left, if they vere off too the right, we can honk and they return to the left. If they disappear in the dry canal, a honk brings them back. Would seem walking with them would be better, but I've clocked them at 20 mph.. They are trained to run in front of the car, but sometimes one lags. Stop one to far ahead, by command or honk, till the lagging one catches up.
Someone bought the property bordering the road awhile back. I can see Zebra through the foliage. What's interesting about that is when we are going by the Zebras's, One is at alert, the other's aren't. Not sure what else is back there, but enough of a nosey view to know that they're other enclosures.
Then the weirdest thing. The road leads to the Sheriff's Camp that is used for teens. Many times the sheriffs have passed Donnie or I. They at times have teens in the vehicles. They watch. They wave. The dogs stop on command. They respond to honks. They respond to hand claps. The only one that ever said anything was an officer that had never been there before. Biatch. But must admit, we keep a close watch for the beginning of the road house that has feral cats. A few chases. But they both know --you chase---no run. They get the run.
Rascal learned the run from JB. Shat's learned the run from Rascal. Dini learned the run from Shat's. Dini was the longest to learn by watching inside the car b/c I wasn't sure of him. About 7 months. The next step is run on the long leash. Dini was weeks. Then the day of no leash. The day of no leash and running fast. is special. Plus, catching a scent and stopping and sniffing it fully.. A great dog day.
But to this day he is the most obedient on the run if we(Donnie and I) don't break the rules. Dini looks, always back at the vehicle as if saying "I'm doin okay, I'm doin okay, am I". Until he sees a truck then he runs at high speed to the truck. (they know him). He sniffs each tire then, ambles away. For foreign trucks, the folks are sceptable, but he approaches in a wig wagging way, tail waging.
Worst day. Dini followed a scent into the dry canal. Dead wild pig that was ripe. He rubbed himself, then came back. I puked.

Paws so happy to see you and Annie Mae. Sorry, that insurance sucks, but they have the tiered approach. Least invasive non radiation. If I pushed it on last ultrasound could have gotten CT's.. Didn't b/c the radiation of the radiation exposure. May bite me in the end(pun). Heard from 2nd. It's back a page or so. But Basically she's working. DH went through a critical period, Had a tumor removed, DD nursed him. Not sure if you are still in contact. Know you were close. Bless you.

update on Evie. She only has an IV now. Once that comes out, she eats week and can increase the volume, then she'll come home probably sometime early next week. She's getting moms milk and formula. She can't nurse yet, they want to measure what she's putting eat. Peeing and pooping well. I visited for awhile. She looks like her dad and she's going to have brown eyes like him
I don't have my finger in her ear!
-
get your finger out of her ear!!
Great news!!! Glad she is doing so well.
-
YAY!
-
Did you make her cry, Dear Great Grand Ma?
-
Welcome Split Peas...,, I mean Split Beans!!
-
Can't even go to the restroom in peace. Prior to taking this picture, I saw the tip of her nose at the crack of the door....who knows for how long. Then, slowly and quietly receded as if she didn't want me to know that she was stalking me. Yes, yes, I do use my phone (to read)in the bathroom.
-
Mine likes to make sure of where I am too. **Oh, you are in the bathroom,, hi there!** She naps nearby when I'm in the shower,,, doesn't want to miss me getting out.
-
Aw, that is sweet. Yours doesn't have separation anxiety, does she??
-
Not really. She doesn't like it when I'm gone at night. I don't know if that's because she is so used to me being home working at night,, I work 330-12 midnight on the computer,,, so when I'm not home at night, she is like,, WTF?? where are you??? At night, she is by the door waiting for me to get home,, but she doesn't do that in the daytime. And she is not destructive either. So I think most of the time, she just wants to know where I am. Her hearing seems to be getting worse,, and I will see her going thru the house, looking for me,, I'll call her and she won't hear me,, so I'll stomp my foot or bang on the wall, and she'll hear that. Turns around,,, **oh, there you are**.
-
Nacho looks so ashamed of himself in that earlier picture and Rose really is all "Humph!" - they are so cute.

Ladies, I have a question:
Anyone have long term pain in their left front and middle abdominal area?
I've had the same sharp, irregular pain ever since chemo. just a bit below my ribs, kinda to the side, on the left, closer to the outside of my body. It has never gone away. None of my doctors really seem concerned about it, but, it hurts. And it wasn't there before.
Sas- any ideas?
-
Oh I'm so excited! I love your pictures you guys! And LittlePaws, you posted one of ANNIE! Thank you! I've always worried about her....
Glad you got your insurance straightened out....
Okay, going back, Splitbean, Is that Mamma & baby? Or the same breed? The larger one looks very protective, or guarding her "spot"...Ha!
Those EYES! How did you do that? Are those yours?
Spookie, Hah! I remember those cars...! HUGE! But they rode so smoothly, and the seats were 10 feet long! I remember DH used to polish our leather seats in the '57 Chevy with Armorall, and you would slide all over the seats when you turned a corner.... Haaaaahah!
Susan, look at that sweet little face! I think Parakeets are so pretty... My Daughter had a Parrot one time... Very smart...
Mags, so sweet, your two pups! I used to share my cheese-sticks with Lacee also.........
But Sass... you didn't post pictures of your "kids".... And you see "Zebra's" on that property? And there are wild "pigs"...
Okay, the next question is where do you live? I would be so afraid of seeing dogs running loose where there are cars and things.... We have a lot of "off-leash parks" here in town, and when we drive by this one, the dogs are soooooooo happy, and it reminds me of looking at a school-yard with all the little kids running after each other!
I took Lacee there when we first got her.... after she grew up a little, and all the dogs came running over to us, and drooled all over her fur! Oh YUKS I thought! But she was rather intimidated by it all.... and stayed next to me even after I took her leash off.... She probably thought "ALL THESE MEN RUNNING LOOOOOOOOOOOSE!"
She was the most sociable little critter I ever knew... just loved everybody.
Maybe someday we'll get another.... but not yet........
-
Loverly! You called her SplitPeas..... Hah!!!!!! That's like naming someone SpecialK....
Morning Glennie, Cubbie...... and JWoW.... I can't help you with that one.... but maybe you should march your little self right in, and make them take a look at you! Do you still have Ovaries, or any of those girl parts?.... No wait, I just felt where you said, and there is nothing there that should hurt.... So you had best get it checked out..... just to make sure...
-
Snowing still in NM. This was from yesterday.
-
Ava posing with the Chris-moose
-
Loverly, the bathroom check is normal. She wants to be sure you're ok, didn't get sucked down the drain. Vulfie would plop himself where he could watch everything. If I got up and didn't return in a good time (his) maybe 20 seconds, he'd have to find me. Just a quick peek, and back to normal.
-
smarty, we know you are giving her a wet woolly...ha ha. She is beautiful. Great to see you in picture too.
-
One of our cats would push on the bathroom door with his head in hopes that it didn't catch. If it opened, he would saunter in like you were encroaching on his territory. He wasn't amused when I laughed at his antics.
-
Miss Ava is beautiful! I could just kiss her snoot!
-
Smaarty, that photo will be the cause of many a laugh as Evie grows up.
-
Love all the animal pictures and of course, baby too. First time seeing pic of Annie Mae ( love the name) and close up pic of Ava ( also good name). Annie is without eyes?? Was she born like that?
Ava is loosing her hearing?? Poor thing. How old is Ava?
And Nacho must be a gentle giant, otherwise Rose would not be where she is. She is such a bully. It's cute.
Susan, yours is Rose too, right? No wait.... Shelby?
I am jealous of Spookie? Love her hair.
We need picture of Dini and Schat. I am trying to picture the run....wish mine could join yours as she loves to run. Would love to see a video of them running.
Ms. Chevy, not sure if it's my phone, but I can't see the picture.
