Deb- you are a special person to work with those NICU babies! What rewarding work you do!

Sorry to hear your tests are dragging out. I have 6 month mammo and ultrasounds for my follow up and it is done at the imaging center. My BS has an ultrasound in her office too and has taken looks too when we talk about anything that feel different. I have lots of scar tissue and they are always watching those areas.

Here is what I tell myself every time I go in for a follow up "I hope everything is good, but if it is not, I remember I have already gone through this and gotten through what I needed to do and can do it again if I have to." There is no way not to be scared, but I try to comfort myself by saying I can get through it, because I already have.

Jazzy - I'm glad to hear they are always watching your scar tissue areas! That is so important. Thank you so much for the advice. Your right, there is really no way not to be scared, but any comfort is helpful! Thank you!

The babies are very rewarding! I work in Nicu/Picu and peds.

Sass - NICU respiratory therapist. I take care of the breathing end of things. Ventilators, treatments, codes, bipaps, EKG's, etc.

One of my twins had to go to NICU due to low apgar scores (2 then a 3) and the fact she had passed meconium and she was one of the healthier babies. It takes a very special person to work in that unit.

Sassy! I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.... I don't get anything when I click on things that are posted here.... Do you? I click on some of the topics, and they are all fine.....

Maybe it's your own device? I have had Norton for about 5 years now, and whenever I have clicked on a link, from surfing, they will block access, saying it isn't safe.

So no more of those ummm.... uh porn sites.... okay? Maybe someone is trying to hi-jack you.... and sweep you away..... is that why you haven't been posting? And what is 1100? It's 2016 now.... Is this a trick, to see if anyone notices?

And HAH Spookers! YOU guys have been a little chilly, right? Some of the ice is getting melted around here.... But it is supposed to snow again Friday.... I'm ignoring it this time.

MammaRay - when I was on steroids I had the same experience - much like alcohol, I don't think steroids put in parts of us that weren't there before but they really MAGNIFY them. (Why it couldn't be our BEST characteristics that get magnified I don't know). It is probably not much consolation but I feel like that when I do homework with DD all the time and I am not on steroids now thank God. (DD is a difficult character in that setting. This doesn't bring out the best in me). Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you are doing well - you are a mother who cares and who works with her son, who puts so much energy and interest and love into her child. Give yourself a positive score for all the good things you do. XXX.

MammaRay: steroids can do all kinds of things to your brain. Hang in there.

Sassy is celebrating that we are on page 1100 though the image is a bit scary.

Well Well Midnight (though I'm sure I will slip and call you Deb despite Chevster's nicknaming you) one more medical person to add here. So another pocket party tomorrow. Did we clean up sufficiently from yesterday? Maybe tomorrow is pig out day - chocolates and things like that. We are here for you. Do you expect to know something more definitive tomorrow?

When I was driving lots at night the only stuff on radio here even in the Metroplex was hard rock, rap, talk radio and country. I would hit on a softer country station and stay there till they played honky-tonk stuff. That's where I 1st heard the Martina McBride song and this was b4 my DX. Tough to cry and drive.

Huggs MammaRay. You are there for your son and many parents can't be bothered and they're not getting the tx you're getting.

OK out to heat water for goaties.even though it is a warm 43 (compared to 31 about this time yesterday).

HahaHahaha.....so I guess with mine, the pillow explosion was Mitzy way of protecting us from the disrespectful dangerous dufe.

MammaRay, it would be nice if the Decadron hit that part of the brain that helps us to be calm and patient while it is doing its job to decrease the swelling. It can cause mood swings in some people that is not easy to control without pharmaceutical intervention and or discontinuation of the steroid. Take a break when you or DS gets frustrated. I know my brain shuts down when I feel defeated. There are exercises that you can do with your son to help promote the use of both side of the brain. Wish I had known this when my kids were younger.

Ms. Chevy, yes she did have a panic attack. Can't get mad at her. Btw, not easy to keep the floor clean with Mitzy because of the shedding and and skin flakes. That's why I wanted a labradoodle or poodle mix. I have to run my Roomba twice a day.

Ms. Sas, yes I am in outpatient. I like to refer to myself as a licensed dealer. It sounds much more interesting. Regarding the Christmas tree: I am trying to declutter before we downsize in a few years. The tree along with many other stuffs take up too much space. The longer you live in a house, the more you accumulate.

Hi ladies! I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts. Love the cat pic! :)

Luvmygoats - Yes, another pocket party would be awesome and I am hoping to know something a bit more definitive tomorrow. Not positive I will, but a girl can hope. There are times when the Drs/techs know you work in a hospital and a bit of professional courtesy kicks in. We will see. At the very least...in a day or two I will be able to access the test result online. As far as chocolate...I'm not a fan. I know. I know. LOL! Actually, I am the total opposite of an emotional eater. I tend to just not eat at all. Healthy...no, but can't stomach food of any sort when I'm upset.

Hope everyone is having a good night. Hugs to all!

Deb- my imaging center comes in right away after my films and ultrasound are done and reviewed. I hope you get some good answers tomorrow on whether anymore more needs to be done with tests, etc. Remember the mantra "I can do this."

Will be in your pocket girlfriend. Sending you love and strength for your appointment.
