INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

I went to an on-line art store called Jerry's Artarama a few days ago. I have seen about 400 commercials (actually 2-3 150 x each) since then. I want to call them and tell them I will not be visiting their site ever again because of this. It is not the way to win customers. Perhaps Google is doing it. Whoever needs to stop.
There's a program called Ghostery that tells you what ad companies are on your computer. There used to be a way to block specific sites, but it didn't work the last time I used it. I finally blocked Ghostery because the list was so long it blocked the site.
I want a pair of very stretchy modern styled pants to wear traveling in the car. Anyone have suggestions? I wear petite and still have to hem.
-
Wren- Kohls has a lot of stretchy pants that are comfortable. Usually for a good price too.

smarty let me know if u got my link

Rosie, try Google News. Google is taking over the world. Following the same path as other innovaters. Google bosses recognize that if they don't maintain some things, it hurt's what they do. They have had a guy working for at least a decade about the news. He correctly predicted that journalism would fail b/c internet access would make paper news obsolete. It's happening.
Google has been trying to teach these news organizations how to survive. It's in Google's self interest and they are saying that loud and clear. If quality news isn't produced they will be hurt in the long run. Failure of quality writers to produce quality articles will reduce internet searches for information.
Over the last several months, when I use Google News, I have noticed that there are less pop up adds from the papers that I access on Google News(GN). Whether GN has come to an agreement with these News agencies about a per hit access i.e fee, I don't know. I just know I'm not interrupted, like I was.

I will try and look for an app that turns off moving ads. ugh.. I didn't even know something like that existed. I don't get out much. I agre with Jazzy Kohl's has a very nice petite section of pants. Penney's isn't bad either. If you are looking for warm stretchy corduroy or warm leggings Lands End petite are really nicely made and warm. Inseam is 25 inches. My kids are super tiny and I still have to hem them.
Got back from onc, labs look good. I will need to see what tumor markers are doing they jumped up 67 points last time. Herceptin makes me tired. I tried to show the NP the thick hard ridges I get in my gut.. at least she could feel them. Dang things are uncomfortable. Ascites has increased from draining 2x week to every 3 days.. amounts the same. I was surprised when I read my weight on the paper today it was 1.5 over what the scale read. WTH? I am always happy to weigh less. Any how pretty good day.. pain wise and all - just tired.
Spookie long sleeves and pants? TThere was a gal in the chemo suite next to me, very young wearing flip flops and jeans and a sweater. It is 40 degrees, rainy and cold here.. then she had on 2 bankets and a hat. Socks might have helped. Oregon is not flip flop territory, at least not in November! Be well.

Well, yeah. Only got to about 64, wind from north about 10-15. We aren't used to that. Didn't want to look totally stupid with a jacket and REAL SHOES!!!!
-
Oh oh bummer, lost a post. CHIT. Was on a self brow beating scenario. Had to find another pic of why I was so bad.
I had this wonderful set of breuer chairs. I put them in the attic. The canning is friable--destroyed. I feel really bad b/c I should have known, but didn't know. Now they must go away to the SPCA. Hopefully someone will see their value. OMD. Chit.

Sas! You of all people should know chairs can be re caned!!!! Just don't pick some dude in Tampa.
-
Sas, is your hair really blue?
Rose, I've done the squirrels in the attic thing, too. I trapped four of them before I found out they were getting in through the solar panel system. I had a contractor in replacing insulation anyway when he discovered how they were getting in. I did some of the cleanup myself, which was disgusting.
Spookie, long pants? Real shoes? Brrr! My niece lives in Orlando (works for the Mouse) she will be complaining about the weather.
Speaking of the Mouse, I think I've got a mouse again. I hear that scratching noise in the wall near the bathroom pipes. I put out some traps last night. Why can't they go move in with the neighbors?
-
cubbie, sassy is blonde.
Wren, kohls has Simply Vera leggings, mine are corduroy. Very comfy, stretchy, and warm.
Enerva, yes, got the link. Haven't tried that method before.
-
Well doggone, I thought maybe Sas had the punk rocker thing going on.

Okay, I know this is really blurry.... but I couldn't "fix" it! But the chairs were left out in the alley.... I painted them both.... I left the white on the left one, and just painted the red..... The "wicker" one had that seat, that is/was in kind of bad shape... cannot sit on it, but I painted the whole thing... Have to re-do the red this spring... but it is on our front porch now....
I saw a picture of cutting a whole in the center of the seat, and putting a pot for plants in it... but you can't leave it outdoors, and I didn't want to cut the wicker part....
So Sass, you can figure out another way to use those chairs!
I had moved them around a bit....
GEEZ I wish it was Spring again!
Rosie! You want me to come out there with a cast-iron skillet?
-
Opps, sorry these sweet owls are super sized........
Rose, YA for good labs......
Chevester, your chairs did not appear. You are a good example of "reusing". I bought some cane chairs at an auction years ago, love them. Expensive to get the seats fixed.
Snow is falling......really beautiful.....
Gobble till YA wobble.....
-
HiHo.... Honey, my chairs are still there! Come over here, and look at them on my computer...
I just cleaned the top of the stove.... the oven stays clean, because we never use it, except twice a year.... I've made so many side-dishes... Getting ready to throw a Spaghetti Squash in the microwave, then just take it apart, in a casserole, then heat it up in the microwave with seasoned salt & parsley.... and butter...
I made that fresh cranberry/walnut/celery/jello salad yesterday... also candied sweet-potatoes.... broccoli/walnut/onion/pomegranate/apple salad.
And a Quinoa salad with those chopped mushrooms from the salad bar...... I think I already told you this.... Ha! Oh! and the Green-bean/mushroom soup casserole....
Oh man, they are waiting for the President to speak.... I just hate to think about bad things happening....
Talk to you later........ xoxoxo

WOW Hole!! Very nice!!! Love that shower!!
-
Hol- just beautiful! I hope you are getting settled in and enjoy many good years there!
-
hole, I think you should post 1 pic of the kitchen now with all your stuff. No way it's still that clean! Not that you dirty 😛
Chevy, I see no pics either.
-
Okay, I went to Chrome, then to my images, then I hit "save as".... then I came back here, and did the mountain thing, and they are HERE! I'm going to get you all GLASSES! I know that first one is really foggy, but I can't fix it.... I forget what I was even doing now!
HiHo! That is the most GORGEOUS home I have ever seen! I wouldn't know what to DO in there! And you haven't even messed it up yet!
What city do you live in? Anyway I love your home.... is it all brand new? And you only paid 5 million for it? Hah~!
-
Holes one, lovely home. Enjoy it to the fullest!
Chevy, glad you reposted. The pics didn't come through for me either on the first go round.
-
Okay thanks Kath.... I'm glad you guys said something.... !
-
Holeinone, I like the exterior of our your new house as well. How do the windows over the garage fit into the interior design? The roof looks too low for a room over the garage. Are they just like a little dormer inside the garage ceiling?
-
She probably has a "play-room" up there.... Or it's just for light.... Did you see how many people she could fit in that SHOWER???? That is bigger than my kitchen!
-
You could definitely get my whole bathroom in her shower!
-
Wow Holeinone--- you downsized? I love the shower it's bigger than our bathroom! Hahaha Very pretty windows and kitchen!I have never lived in a new house.
Chevy why is the president addressing? Did I miss something? Everyone have a very Happy Tofurky or Turkey Day tomorrow. ((((Hugs))))
-
This is so wrong, but posting anyways! I like stretchy pants anytime myself!
-
Spank me!. I'm a week behind again. Replaced my computer with one supposed to be faster and not really happy with it. I think it has lots of stuff preloaded that needs to be unloaded. DH might (?) be able to do some of it but he has been working like gangbusters. Really really need DD to come out but that's not happening soon. We are having a 2 person Thanksgiving tomorrow. DD is not coming nor is she coming on Saturday. We are set for flooding rains starting tonight with light stuff. I told her to wait until the weather is better. And absolutely no sense to come that far for just the day Thanksgiving since she also has to work on Friday. Mags/Beatmon looks like you may get socked. The freezing rain line maybe just 20 miles N of me eventually. But today it is 68, humid, dark.
I will keep reading between cooking/cleaning. We are set to have 37 new neighbors sometime in the new year. The property across the road was platted and county approved on Monday. Nice houses, bigger and much more expensive than ones on this cul de sac. I'm OK with that. Met the developer - one of them - and he attempted yest. to deliver the plat I requested but darn it I wasn't home.
Jazzy and Chevster - I have to send those doggy commercials to my DD. Hilarious. And thank you Wren for the cat eating with utensils.
Second the losing stuff. I lost milk from WalMart. And yes Susan I did check the car carefully. DH just doesn't understand how it happens. But the most shopping he does is at Lowes lol.
Oh Queenie - what a store. I looked the link up again. I'd be dead broke. Don't have a tea sock, do have 2 of those polyester drop in filters. I haven't been anywhere in the past few weeks but just around the neighborhood stores. Needing a tea fix badly. But I have discovered I love Community Coffee Hotel Blend. Lots of the stores had specials on it this week. Umm we have a coffee glut now but what the heck. I cannot seem to find any other brand of Assam but T&H. I finished the old box but don't really like the new one; odd figure it would be the other way around. .I don't think I'll get into Ft Worth next week to the big grocers unless I go visit DD next weekend. I was out the 1st weekend in Nov. to Grapevine - real touristy out by the airport. I shoulda made DH go early - there is a British Emporium out there. Not really that far from DD. Maybe we'll go.
I had the most fun time in WalMart this week, one of the bigger ones, more cosmopolitan population. Older couple I'd crossed paths with a couple of time speaking what sounded like might be French. They were stymied in the refrig. whipping cream with a clerk who barely knew what whipping cream was. I barged right in making "whipping motions" and saying whip. Yes, yes, whip. She named some luscious dessert and I said yes and the clerk handed her a pint carton. Husb. reaching for half/half - I said no "cafe". Yes she understood coffee. Turns out it was Portuguese. I felt like I'd earned my stars that day haha.
Aww Blessings - so good to hear from you. I hope they find something they are able to treat with all those tests.
Yay Smaarty that Nick is getting his new leg for Christmas.
I see I missed Loverly off to warm Hawaii for 8 days. WooHoo. But I know what you mean about the dog. We boarded ours for 4 nights where she always goes and I feel guilty and they love her there.
Love your house HoleInOne. Downsize is right?
Off to do the dishes and start making something. Not sure what. Maybe brown sausage for dressing. DH requested dressing, sweet potatoes and pie. We'll have a small ham and homemade cranberry relish. I forgot a can of relish so I have to get that done.
Happy Thanksgiving Y'all.
