BarbA I used to get swelling of my lips and eyes years ago when I was working shift work.  Mine I think came from stress.  I stopped mine with an antihistamine too.  When I stopped the shfit work though the swelling also stopped.  Sorry about your Dad Hauntie.  Joyce your Dad's sock story made me smile.  Marybe you're right about other horrible diseases.  My Dad died 7 years ago from Parkinsons's Disease.  At the end he couldn't unbend his one arm.

Barbara, I read the same story as 3jays did. The lady was 3 years into Effexor before it gave her hives! That's why they took so long to figure it out as it wasn't a 'new' drug to her system. Hope you handle the flight well - could your body just be sick of air pressure issues from so much flying?

I dunno, Barb, not taking ANY meds, only supplements. And I tested each and every one of them. Not them.  Strange.

The tumors in my liver have increased in overall size and number......but I am not really upset because I was expecting it due to the rise in the tumor markers. No signs of any changes for the worse anywhere else so that is a good thing.   I am not going to worry about it now until I see the onco Oct 26 and in the meantime am going to see what the onco at MDA thinks and also the one I had a consult with here.  I know he would be willing to work with the one at MDA so might be making another trip to TX.  They know me when I walk into the diagnostic imaging library now.....I told the woman I think I am seeing them way too often.

Marybe, sounds like a plan. I've been praying for you, not the results I would have liked to hear though. Hugs to you, sweetie!

Hi everyone., has anyone else ever had any vertigo as opposed to dizziness??

Lisa -  I have been having spells of vertigo since I had a cold and like an idiot got on a plane.  Don't really know if that is what caused it or not.  I did have vertigo as a child to the point my Dad had to carry me on a escalator or stairs and I would bury my face in his shoulder.  Now sometime when I bend down to get something from the back of a low shelf I feel like I am going to be really sick or fall over and never sure which one it will be.  Hope you are not having problems with vertigo.

Marybe, you are always in my prayers but I am adding extra ones for you. Hugs, gal pal.

Lisa, I had it bad enough once that I had to go to the ER. I couldn't lift my head of a pillow because I couldn't tell which way was "up"!! They did some basic bending me and whipping me upright and looking into my eyes. Then the doc pulled what I thought was a HUGE ball of wax out of my right ear. I was so relieved!! She said that couldn't be it and wanted me to follow up with my doc. I didn't, as I did feel relief! So, how are your ears? Sinuses? Stuffed?

Hi Lisa, I've had vertigo to the point I felt like I was falling out of bed when I turned over - no fun.  Mine seems to come and go ever since then, which was about ten years ago.  It's really easy for the docs to dx; it shows up in eye movements! But there was no tx for mine so the dx was soft of moot.  The vertigo has been quiet for some time even though I've developed a chronic ear problem - it won't clear for over a year....and I'd figured the vertigo would come back..  Good Luck! I hope yours just goes away.

Marybe, extra good-thoughts coming your way. Your plan sounds good.

I have something called BPV.............Benigh Positional Vertigo...............I was diagnosed at a hearing and balance center in our Audiology Dept. at the hospital where I have had all my cancer work done.

They gave me some head exercises to do.............look it up on Google, and you will see what it is................you will understand it better if you read about it yourself...............good luck.

It can come and go with me..........had a bout about 3 weeks ago, and when it happens it is miserable............they ask you, when they question you does it feel like the " the room is moving", or "are you moving"..............mostly with me it is the "room".................

So Cal Lisa......................the last time it happened to me, the room was the thing moving..............it is horrible, but all you can do is ride it out, till it finally goes away.......sometimes it is just a matter of going to sleep.............sometimes not........as I said there is an exercise you do with your head, but it can't be explained.  It has to be shown..........google, how to treat BPV, and you might find it............I'll check myself to see also.........

I can hardly believe the discussion of vertigo that appeared on this thread just as I have experienced it in the past 2 days for the first time ever ! I don't post much but keep up with all of you often (used be be xgolfer but that is so long in the past it seems inappropriate for me). Duckyb1 - will you be my role model ? I won't hesitate to ask questions on this board because I feel that answers to everything are here.
