So...whats for dinner?

So sorry Michelle. I am glad she passed peacefully but like Apple says, it is so hard to lose your mom.
-
Hugs and condolences Michelle. You and your family lovingly helped your mom leave this earth in the most peaceful way. But yes, still so sad to say the final goodbye to Mom.
Thinking of you.... -
So sorry Michelle. It is a difficult time and I am so relieved to know that your family was and is together to support each other through this sad time.
-
Michelle,
Very sorry to hear about your Mom's passing but, glad her passing was peaceful and that you and your family were all together. May you find strength and comfort in each other in the coming days.
Seaside -
Michelle- Sending warm loving thoughts and prayers to you and all of your family. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Please take care of you!
-
Michelle, deepest sympathies to you and your family.
To all, my MIL just had two strokes, and is septic, they have decided not to treat. She is over 90, and has been in failing health. We are heading up to Watoma today. Don't know when I will be back. Much love to all. -
Moon, my thoughts and prayers travel with you.
-
Hugs to both Moonflwr and Michelle and families.
For some happy news. Today, Sharon interviewed for the physics teacher job and, pending approval by the school board, has been offered the position.
Eric -
Happy dance for Sharon

Losing a mother or a father is very hard. My sympathy to you and your family, Michelle.
Sorry about your MIL, Moon. Travel safely.
Great news about Sharon! As a former teacher, my sympathy to her, too. Just kidding! But teaching is a very difficult job and I admire the good teachers.
I spent much of today with my mother, who will turn 90 in Dec. We went to a dr.'s apptment, bought her groceries, and picked up lunch at Olive Garden. She seemed happy today. Her youngest child, my brother Brian, is flying in from Atlanta this weekend to visit her.
Catfish filets on sale at WinnDixie for $3.99 a lb. Have been $7.99 for quite a while. Farm raised. I bought a whole package and will freeze some. Plan to cook two of the filets for dinner tonight. A WW recipe that is quite good. Oven-fried catfish with a seasoned cornmeal coating.
Yesterday at WW weigh-in, I was down 5.6 lbs for the past 2 wks.

Good job Carole!
-
Michelle, I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing your mom is incredibly hard, especially now. Thank you for sharing your story of her final days.
Moon, thinking of you and your family. -
Safe travels, Moonflwr. My thoughts are with you.
-
Deborye,
So sorry to hear about your friend... You all look far to young to have to attend the funeral of a classmate. Sad and so unfair....
Moon,
Travel safely! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...
Joyce,
Also so sad to hear about your friend as well! Even if someone has been sick it is really hard when they are truly gone especially if they had been doing well recently. Hugs to you!
This has really been a very sad week for many on this thread... Sending you all hugs...
-
Eric,
Congrats on Sharon's job offer!!! My DD is a recent grad with a dual education/biology degree and is having a rough time finding a job here in NY. So much so that she has decided to just continue with school and begin her master's... Tough job market...
Carole,
5.6 lbs in two weeks is fantastic especially if you're on an AI!!!! Congrats and keep it up!!!
What's for dinner tonight is Nancy's Minestrone. The weather here today is dark, cold and rainy. A perfect day for soup. Just popped some bread in the oven to warm....It smells really good in here!!!
-
Michelle Sending prayers and hugs your way
Moonflwr Travel safe. Prayers and hugs to you as well.
Eric Congats to Sharon! She is one smart cookie and they should be thankful to get her.
-
Great news Carole and Sharon! Moon, sending you hugs, in fact (((hugs))) all around!
Tonights dinner is breaded pork tenderloin, Italian cole slaw (this phone will NOT let me make that one word!) and salt potatoes. -
Hugs and special thoughts to all.
Dinner tonight is steak, loaded baked potatoes and a veg... maybe broccoli.
-
Moon- Travel safe and my thoughts are with you as you go.
Carol- Great job!!!!
Eric- Great news about Sharon, I bet she is excited!
Tonight is homemade chicken tenders, scalloped potatoes and salad. I noticed after that I had sinner and drinks
lets be honest- it was closer to the truth!! LOL! So why correct it?
-
Michelle: So sorry about you Mom's passing. My prayers are with you and the family.
It's been a beautiful fall here in NC...we're headed back to Florida next week and I'm a little sad. The good news is there are lots of kids and grandkids waiting to see us down there!
Tonight we had talapia with a lemon butter sauce, brown rice with quonia, and a squash and broccoli stir fry. It was good!
-
Tazzy, I love broccoli on my baked potato along with the butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon bits, yummmm. I alwaus put broccoli out for baked potato bars at the Center. Took a few times but now most of the regulars put it on their's now. Most new people put it on the tray as a veggie serving, then adding some to the potato, tasting and adding more.
-
Oh yes chabba... you have to have all the trimmings with potatoes. Actually I was going to do them with the cheese, butter, spring onions... but now I will definitely add the broccoli.
-
Wish I could come to dinner! Sounds better than toast with peanut butter, even if the bread is my favorite of the store bought, what I call my bird seed and hazelnut bread.
-
And I would love to have you come to dinner
If my DH is out and I dont need to cook I normally have toast with cheez whizz... I know its bad, but. One thing I cannot stomach is peanut butter. But I love peanuts.
-
Nancy,
The minestrone was absolutely delicious!! I did add a bit more of each vegetable, a bit of sausage that I had leftover and a can of chick peas but aside from that followed the recipe exactly... I did take your advice and cooked the ditalini separately because no way we would finish all of it tonight.
The house smells wonderful and we are all happily full! Thank you for a great recipe and the parmesan rind really does add a lot... So thanks for that tip! -
Eric... congrats to Sharon.
-
Seaside, I'm so glad it turned out tasty for you. I actually added more of the vegetables too. I thought It tasted even better the next day.
-
Nancy,
Then I'm guessing I'm going to be a happy camper tomorrow as that's what I'm planning on having for lunch!! -
So annoying that I just lost my entire post!! No energy to repost right now....
Hugs to all...... -
Lacey, LOL, I know that frustration. Are you using an iPad. That never happened before I got an iPad.
Moon, I am so sorry to hear about your mil. Travel safely and my thoughts are with you. (((((Hugs)))))
Nancy, I can't wait to try that recipe too. I am a real soup person.
We had leftover mahi mahi last night. It's great not to have to cook when you loved it the first time, but when you regretted making it sweet instead of spicy, not so much. The fish was really good, just needed a different seasoning, will have to try again. Made a salad and some roasted Brussel sprouts with it. They came out really well
