Michelle- Yay!!!!  Only the boosts left, so happy for you!  I will be counting down with you:)

Carol- I hope your mouth is feeling better today and you get some relief.

Debbie- Have fun in Hawaii!  Wish I could fit in your suitcase!

Carrie- I hope your mom is doing well.

I am going to try to make the homemade pizza tonight.  Let's hope it is more like cooking then baking so it turns out ok, lol.  My morning didn't go as planned so the beef stew and the bat leaves will have to wait till tomorrow.  (Great picture Deb!)

Thanks, Laurie, I am healing.  Let us know how the pizza turns out.  It is more cooking than baking.  Tonight I'm cooking meatloaf and baked potato.  I put lots of wet bread in the ground meat to make it soft.  Also ketchup and raw egg along with s&p, garlic and onion powder.

Deb- LOL!!!!  Thanks for the smile!  The broccoli slaw salad sounds good, I do one too but it's a bit different, love the idea of sunflower seeds and raisins.

Apparantly I need to buy a pizza stone- the pizza was ok but I was disappointed :(

I would probably use Splenda instead of sugar and only 1/4 cup.

    Laurie,

What didn't turn out with the pizza? We don't have a stone but make pizza every so often both on the grill and in the oven and I think it comes out good! Maybe a slightly different method will help?!

In the winter time i grill my pizza on the stove in a cast iron with the ridges. flip it over and put my grilled veggies on and then some cheese. I think the dough comes out so much more tender than baking it, at least that is how i found for me anyway.

Cleaned out the fridge, had all kinds of weird stuff for dinner so i didnt have to throw anything away, a litle of what was left of my chx salsa, split a hamburger patty with DH, green beans, russell sprouts, cottage cheese, olives and feta cheese.

Laurie - I made pizza today, too.  I have a pizza stone - works really well and they are not very expensive if you don't buy it from Pampered Chef like I did many years ago.  They are good for baking cookies, too.

I use cast iron often, but I don't have anything big enough for a pizza.  I do like the idea, though!  After my DH's grilling adventures this summer, I definitely prefer pizza on the grill.  But the stone works well.

I had #26 tonight, my first boost.  Then we were going to go to a Chinese restaurant in Boston for dinner, but neither of us was hungry.  So we headed towards home and stopped at the movie theater to see The Adventures of TinTin.  My DH says he watched it as a kid, but I have absolutely no recollection of it.   We shared a bag of popcorn - that was my dinner!

Debbie  I like the grilled pan idea for pizza.. was just thinking that I really would like to get a good cast iron pan with the ridges.  I have the pizza stone from pampered chef and really like it.

Last night...out with the girls....I had a spinach salad with chicken, mandarin oranges and blue cheese with a warm viniagrette dressing...delicious!

Hmmm...bat wings, eye of newt, hair of the dog, and we will all be cured for the new year!Tongue out

I am still laughing over the bat leaf! Too funny! And the broccoli slaw sounds good. I've never made homemade pizza unless you count the Joe Corbis that the kids sell for school. I think I am missing out though. We had take out pizza last night. It was okay, but I really like a different place better, but let my DH and DD pick. Tonight we're going to a restaurant downtown for DH work Christmas party. He has no idea what we're having. Men! Tomorrow is my birthday, so trying to decide what to do for that.

Debbie, have a safe and wonderful trip! I am so jealous.

I think i will prep for pizza today, go downtown to play the organ, come home and assemble and bake it.  it sounds so good. .. or maybe make reubens.. i love those.  (I don't eat that much but feed big eaters and they will be working all day building the top of a huge storage shed.. (50 by 70)

    a shed.. heh

Michelle  - hope you are healing.

the pizza didn't turn golden?  Half way through I tried to fix it by putting it right on the oven rack without the pan, it didn't help.

Carrie- glad you had a good night out, the salad sounds delicious!

    Kay- Happy Birthday!!!!!!

Laurie, how hot was your oven? You want to have the oven about as hot as it can get. Also try to make the dough fairly thin.

momine- the recipe said 375 and the crust was actually rolled very thin-I guess it wasn't hot enough?  I might try again tomorrow with the other half of the dough at a higher temp.....

I have found that recipes i got off the Internet called for way less cooking time than needed, some needed twice as much. Maybe I like food more cooked, but one potato recipe, the potatoes tasted raw. I don't know, but I no longer believe the suggested cooking times.

375 fahrenheit? If so, not hot enough, no. try 450 next time.

Carrie-Those pans are great, i like to cook my hamburgers, steaks and chx in them it dosnt sit in the grease which makes it a little healthier.

Laurie- My recipes for pizza call for the oven to be at 500% so im assuming the 350 is why it didnt get brown enough

    Kay-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Michelle- You will have finished your tx while im gone, feel better my friend!Laughing

Ok, Sunglasses, check-suntan lotion, check- bikini, (not) ha bathing suit, check-! I think im ready to get the heck out of dodge. We leave in a couple hours to portland, fly out tooo early in the morning but will be in hawaii by 11;30 am- (yay)

    HUGS and ALOHA to everyone!

I know the feeling Joyce. When I'm alone for dinner, I end up just snacking all night. But yippee, you get to go to Florida on Saturday! Hoping the weather holds out for another week for Michelle too. I think the forecast looks good. Heading out to the last Christmas party in a few minutes. Hope the food is good. It's an Italian restaurant, so I have high hopes.

Happy Birthday, Kay!  And enjoy the party/Italian food!

Laurie - I agree about the higher heat for pizza.  I used 425 for the one I made on Friday and I think it could have been a bit higher.

Joyce - LOL at potato chips!!!  We weren't much better.  We stopped at a bar & grill in Haverhill and I had an artisinal cheese plate and DH had fried pickles.  Yes, fried pickles...and beer, of course.  I guess you could say we ate vegetarian tonight Wink

Saw a lot of ppl golfing today at the golf course in Hudson, NH. It's the one you see when you take the exit to go to walmart off rt 3.

Not hungry because we had a late breakfast so made tuna sandwiches.

I thought my DH would want to play today but instead we went on a hunt for an area rug for our living room.  The bottom level of our house is on a concrete slab and the floors are Pergo - cold!  We'll probably have to order a custom sized rug.
