For me, I don't care when in September we have the reunion, I can be there.  But how can we have a Ta-Ta event without our #1 Ta-Ta sister/head cheerleader Laura? Nooooo...can't happen!! Laura, we have to find a weekend when you can be there! And Linda, my sweet roomie, I would sure love to see you again. If only we can find a date when everyone can come!

I don't know about all of you, but people are in disbelief when I tell them that I take a trip to Las Vegas to spend the weekend with a bunch of ladies that I had never met until 2009.  What a blessing you all are.  Not many good things come of a cancer diagnosis, but I count all of you as a gift.

Tracey did get back to me fast.......I cannot go September 23-26......but I am going to change things to come the 30th-3rd if she chooses to go back to that.....it is all I can do ladies....my kid is turning 21....I will cry the whole weekend though if I cannot go this year. Thanks ladies.....you are very kind...and Tracy......I know what you mean.....my friends used to say the same...xxxoooo

I know that its hard to fit a date in that will work with everyone, everywhere.  With that being said, I am flexible this year....if we can get a set date and once its set its not changed.  I am all for September because the weather is better and there seems to be more conventions and stuff in October which is probably a factor in hotel cost.  What about Sept 14th to the 16th?

Well I'm a little surprised... I saw no chat about talking about a date for our 3rd annual Vegas trip.  Not on our old tata thread and not on our private facebook we created.  I for 1 sure hope the date changes.  With October being breast cancer month to me that just makes since.  Plus ok my B-Day is Oct 9th and want to go close to my B-Day lol : )

Ok I did some research to see what we had done in past years.  I was part of the few gals that came up with this idea of having a gathering so we could connect after getting to know each other on line... and would like for it to continue at the time that works out for most of the gals,  So just some facts I wanted to share.  The 1st year we started the thread March 16 and I think the date was chosen right away.  I forget how we came up with the date that year.  We didn't actually lock the hotel in till May 31 which was actually fine because as I read on a post most hotels don't book more than 6 months out.  The 2nd year we took a poll on the date to see which weekend would work out best and that's how we came up with Oct 1 - 3 which we decided that on Feb 8th and choose our hotel March 3rd.  I know the airline I want to use doesn't even book flights right now for any dates after August 15th.  After hearing the last weekend of Sept won't work for several of our gals I was just wondering if we could do a poll like we did last year.  I apologize for my life being crazy right now and not being able to offer a lot of help but if things settle down I will let you know and for sure help in any way I can.  I love all of you ladies and look forward to this trip every year.

Just a little note if you are changing the date our Canadian Thanksgiving is the weekend of the 8th, 9th & 10th.   Hope we can work around that date.

Well I loved meeting the Canadian girls last year and would want to try and work around dates that would work for most of us gals.  How does Sept 30th - Oct 3rd sound.  Do keep in mind if you want to come a few days early or stay a few days later that's what several of us did last year.  If I would have thought of coming a day earlier could have saved a lot of money on my flight.  So I know I for one will take that into consideration.  I hope others will chime in and share there thoughts about the date.  I hope we would want this to be what works out for the majority.  Ladies no matter what the date is this will be sooooo much fun : )

 THE REASON WE CHOOSE SEPTEMBER WAS BECAUSE MOST LADIES LAST YEAR EXPRESSED THAT THEY PERFERRED SEPTEMBER. THE ORIGINAL DATE OF THE 2011 REUNION WAS SEPTEMBER 30-OCT 3RD BUT IT WAS CHANGED TO TRY AND ACCOMODATE A FEW. NOW WE ARE BEING ASKED BY A FEW TO CHANGE IT AGAIN. IM SURE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT MAKING 50+ WOMEN HAPPY IS NOT EASY. THERE SIMPLY WILL NOT BE A DATE THAT WORKS FOR ALL. THIS DATE HAS NOT YET CHANGED BUT NOTHING IS WRITTEN IN STONE. THIS IS AN OPEN THREAD AND WE ARE ALL FREE TO POST OUR DISPLEASURE. IF THE DATE CHANGES WHICH IF IT DOES WILL TAKE PLACE SOON SO THOSE OF US PLANNING CAN GET ON WITH THE PLANNING I WILL POST IT ASAP!!

OH AND AS FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, WE LIVE THAT EVERYDAY! LOL

Umm, what about late August early Sept (Aug 26, 27, 28 or Sept 2, 3 & 4) ?Some are saying that October is going to be too busy and the prices may increase because of all BC awareness stuff going on there. Also, there's some concern about the weather. Would Aug be a possibility?

I will share one time I went to Vegas in August and it's super major hot than not sure if some of the gals could handle it but lets keep throwing out ideas we do want everyones in put.  It's all about sisterhood and working together : )

Sandy and all you wonderful ladies, I threw in August as a possibility but I'm going to have to stay out of this discussion. I don't want to make any waves as I know organizing for over 50 people is not an easy feat. My hubby and I have another trip planned for sometime in Sept or maybe even early Oct that will be quite expensive so I don't even know if I'm going to be able to pay for both trips. I know that last year's trip cost me about $1200 btwn airfare, taxis, food, hotel etc for 4 days. I just can't at this point say whether or not I'm going to be able to swing both trips since we're retired folk...lol. I guess I'm going to have to wait and see what the final vote is and then go from there.....

I know that whatever date you pick this Vegas trip will be as well organized and a BLAST like last year's. I'M JUST PRAYING I CAN MAKE IT!! LAURA< YOU HAVE TO BE THERE! IT JUST WOULDN'T BE THE SAME !!!!!!!!!

I have to get Sylvia (oneof the Canada's) online, she's missing all this excitement!!!!!

I'd like to make it, it if I can.  However, August won't work for me.  We're away on vacation for most of the month.  I might be able to swing Sept 30 - Oct 3rd but I will have to see how the finances work out.

THE DATE IS NOT A CONSPIRACY. MANY WOMEN EXPRESSED TO BOTH GISELLA AND I LAST YEAR AT THE REUNION THAT SEPTEMBER WOULD BE BETTER. THAT ALONG WITH CHEAPER HOTEL RATES IS WHY WE CHOSE THE SEP 30-OCT 3RD AVOIDING THE FIRST PART OF SEPTEMBER FOR THE START OF SCHOOL/HOLIDAY REASONS. THEN LAURA POSTED THAT SHE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT ON THAT DATE AND SINCE SHE HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL AND OUR FABULOUS GROUP CHEERLEADER TO THE GROUP SINCE DAY 1, WE MOVED IT UP A WEEK. NOW THAT DATE (SEP30TH-OCT3RD) WORKS FOR HER AND THE NEW DATE DOES NOT. I KNOW THE NEW DATE DOES NOT WORK FOR THE LOVELY LINDA EITHER. I HAVE NO PROBLEM MOVING THE DATE BACK TO SEP 30TH-OCT 3RD WHICH AS I SAID BEFORE WAS THE ORIGINAL CHOICE!! I HAVE ONLY HAD A FEW PEOPLE HAVE ISSUE WITH THE DATES PERIOD. MOST COMMENTS TO ME HAVE BEEN POSITIVE.

 WHEN PLANNING AN EVENT OF THIS SIZE WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DISCUSS AND DEBATE EVERY STEP OF PLANNING. IT WOULD MAKE FOR A SLOW, PAINFUL PLANNING PROCESS.

SANDY, IF YOU HAVE BETTER IDEAS I WELCOME YOUR THOUGHTS. TRYING TO PLAN FOR AND PLEASE SO MANY IS NOT AS EASY AS IT MAY APPEAR.
