THE 3RD TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS BABY!

Eban - they put you in a harness and you hold on to the harness with both hands for stability and to stay upright - but your weight is on the harness
Can't wait for Vegas and to see everyone again.
Wrist is coming along - may need surgery and a pin - find out on the 12th.
Take care all - Saskie
-
Ebann -- they hired the party bus last year to take most of us to Fremont Street. You must have been in the limo group? I am pretty sure it's TraceyZ and Giselle who are organizing things... like last year (perhaps with help from Anniese again?) I'm not sure really -- not me though
I just sign up, show up and pay what I'm told to pay! Hope the scan results are good news and so glad you are healing!
-
Hello - I'm one of the four coming with the SOSisters (Chemo starting in 09) and we are all excited about the reunion and meeting fellow BC survivors. I had to post, add me to the list of people who'd like to do the zip line! This sounds like so much fun. Can't wait to meet you, y'all sound like a wonderful bunch of ladies to get to know.

Hi All you Lovely TA TAS,
I can't believe it is 172 days till VEGAS. Mom and I have just returned from a Eastern Carribiean Cruise, along with the rest of the family. She spent most of her time in the Casino. (What else is new). Do you beleive she has actually asked me if I wanted someone else to go to Vegas with me. I think she is out of her mind.(ha ha). The time I spend with her in Vegas is the best. I could not ask for a better traveling partner.
Laura, I will sign up w/ facebook soon and let you know. Still not sure how to work the site.
Sleep well. Sending (((((HUGS and PRAYERS)))))

Cheryl...tell you MOM she has to go. We all love her. She is so much fun! (You too!)

Hi all,
Have been following this thread for a while. When I saw it last year I was all excited about going, but 2010 didn't work out. So, as soon as I saw the 2011 thread start - I got my name on the list.
It seems thought that everyone already knows each other. Is this group really open to new people?
-
OMGOSH-you are so totally family stlcardsfan!!! You become one of the TA TA'S instantly & are embraced by all!! What has brought us all together is a sad thing to have happen, but in the bright lite of it..we have found each other & are there no matter what issues we each face to help get us thru. Welcome Welcome SISTA!!!!! (((HUGS)))
Are you all ready for a chuckle?? Guess what my gaulding/rash turned out to be??!! A fungis!! Can you believe that?! When I hear that, I think of mushrooms, not that I have a mini garden of them growing, but good news is the mighty $$$$ spendy cream is helping that the skin specialist wrote up for me to get. Side effects from the pain meds have cleared up & still dealing with the Asthma issues. Seeing a allergist specialist in another week, looks like I might have to go back on allergy shots..WAHOOOO....NOT, but gotta do what ya gotta do
OK gals....167 days till VEGAS are you all getting your tickets & making a list & checkin it twice as to what to pack??? Now a good WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Love ya all Tons of LOVE & Lots of (((HUGS))) Power Prayers to all in need GOD BLESS
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO Susie

Driving in from Southern California .. Do we have events planned, luncheon or dinner? Do we see shows, or just meet for breakfast .. and gamble, or shop ? My first Vegas trip with you Survivors -

StLouisCardsfan -- no it's not true! We don't all know each other. A lot of us did meet last year (and the year before)... BUT there are a bunch coming this year who have not been before. I'll make a point of meeting you this year and so you will have me that you know
But believe me the bond we all share is the BC crap we have all had to go through, whether this year will be your first, your second (like me) or your third Ta Ta Sisterhood Reunion!
-
How about one of you lovely ladies who have been before, give us newbies a clue as to what to pack? Not now, of course, but when it get closer, ok?
Thanks!
Juli
-
Oh I'm sure it will be discussed Juli -- no worries!
-
Thanks Lilah and Susie for the kind responses!
I look forward to meeting everyone! And doing a little gambling!
-
Hi ladies, my hysto is May 2. Not too excited to have surgery in 2 weeks but apparently I can't swim for at least 4 weeks & I don't want to wait too long
Hope everyone is doing good! -
could someone please answer vickisam's question posted above?
Driving in from Southern California .. Do we have events planned, luncheon or dinner? Do we see shows, or just meet for breakfast .. and gamble, or shop ? My first Vegas trip with you Survivors
She's a sweet heart and I know you all will love her!

Hi to all you lovely TA TA's,
stlcardsfan, dawne-hope and all the new TA TA's joining the Las Vegas Trip welcome. The schedule we have had in the past is something like this:
Friday night meet and greet
Saturday morning breakfast and Piano bar at New York New York in the evening.
Sunday afternoon buffet at Bellagio and Good Bye cocktails at night
I amy have missed a few things, but there is time to see shows, shop, eat, and gamble.
Just want to make sure I mentioned TIME to GAMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year a few of us who arrived on Thursday, had a party before the party. Will probably do the same this year for us early arrivals.
If I have missed anything please let me know. Things may change for this year. But an itinerary will be posted closer to the trip.
Suszie, glad to hear your rash is clearing up and you are feeling better.
Sending (((((HUGS and PRAYERS))))).

Cheryl - Thank you! It helps us newbies feel 'in the loop' to have an idea what we're getting ourselves into! Thanks!
-
I would still love to go!! Hoping it will work out for me to get there.
Never been to Vegas and this would be a wonderful trip and great to meet everyone.
-
I was a newbie last year and was a little bit unsure of the whole thing - meeting new people that I had only chatted with online and just what to expect in general. I have to tell you ladies that my insecurities went away very quickly. The bond that we all have with one another is so special, there's a closeness that is just unimaginable with people that you've only just met for the first time. It truly is a wonderful experience and all the ladies are just so warm and special. Saying goodbye on the last night is truly gut wrenching and leaves you with a feeling that you are saying goodbye to your best friends. It's an amazing experience....you owe it to yourselves to try it. I'm serious when I say that no sooner do you get back home, you're planning for next year's trip!
Edited to add: As to what to wear.....as I was told last year "it's Vegas baby! Anything goes!" And after looking around, that was the truth! If you've never been there, you can't imagine how zany people on the street actually dress!
As for our group, everyone wore something nice (dress up) for the Friday night meet and greet. Saturday breakfast was casual ( capris/shorts etc) Saturday night at the piano bar we mostly wore jeans and tank/T's tops. Sunday brunch at Bellagio we dressed up and drinks later that night was a mix. Some still had on what they wore to Bellagio's, others had changed into something more comfy. Of course there's sun tanning, shopping and gambling in btwn the planned activities.

And I have to add to what's already been said about the reunion weekend: there is nothing more empowering than being with 50 fellow BC survivors and celebrating life together!
-
Thanks, Terri. I saw some photos with some of you in "Ta Ta" t-shirts. Did they get them on their own, or did everyone have one?
Juli
-
Juli -- they come from a site called SavetheTatas.com -- the first group of reunioners bought them and the second year most of us who were new the second year were able to get the last of the "Viva Las Tatas" shirts that they had left. They discontinued that particular T-shirt... but I believe that someone figured out a way to make one that was LIKE the original (was it Jazzy?) -- anyway... we did all wear our Tshirts out one night (to the NY NY Piano bar on Saturday night -- which has become a traditional event of the weekend)... so when we get closer to the date either someone will post a link to the t-shirt designed to look like the orignal Viva Las Tatas shirt or people could buy t-shirts with different messages (if they like) from savethetatas.com... go for a black t-shirt with a Tata message and it will fit nicely! (Even if it says Save The Tatas!)
-
Thanks, Lilah!
-
Sounds fun and definitely empowering. No husbands on this trip? Just us girls right? I'm trying to figure out someone to tag along with me....coming from the east coast and never been to Vegas!
Wish I could just drive in...;)
-
Juli, like Lilah said, we all had on the same t's or tank tops. Black with gold lettering that say's "Viva Las Ta-Ta's". The piano bar is a real hoot- so much fun. I should know, I didn't sit down once all night!
-
Eastcoastgirl - there will be lots of us there for the first time, and it will be fine. I will be travelling alone too, though not as far as you, and it will be my first trip to Vegas. Look forward to meeting you.
