-
Veggy, so glad you have a reason to celebrate! Group hug eve
-
Sounds like open-season on sisters....Let's hope they take the warning and learn to step up emotionally and physically. I never had a sister...(sigh)
-
Joan. My sister will never change so it's not always good to have a sister. I had a good sister but she died. It does really suck to lose a good sister
-
Would love for all of you to meet my darling sister. Perhaps she could come down to the fire and join us. She's also a nurse. A kind nurse. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and the best sister in the world. If she has a single fault, I would have to say it has to do with her selflessness. She takes after our father... always giving of themselves and enjoying life to it's fullest. I pray each day for her good health, because she seems to care more for everyone else's health than she does about her own. I guess being a saint takes it's toll on her. But nonetheless, life is better knowing she's around...
-
VR,
You are so blessed to have such a dear sister! Hugs to both of you! -
hi ladies, catching up after a few days away. ((Linda)) ((gritgirl)) ((Veggy!))
I treasure this space and wish I could visit more often but am here in spirit.
Throwing in legislators who make back-room deals & pass bills they haven't read.
There are a lot of those so the fire should burn hot & bright for a long time. ♥
-
Badger. I am from Wisconsin originally, so I feel your pain
-
Can I throw my sister in again?
-
Sure! You can throw her in again. I'll keep watch...
-
Can I throw in cancer again??and again.
My friend a 30 yr.cancer survivor just got new that she has 2 weeks to live.if she is lucky.she is60 yrs.old do the math.she started this ugly journey at the age of 30Into the fire it goes....find a freekin cure/vaccine...enuf
Of course it started with bc...
Ill light the fire..burn burn burn.... -
Thanks gritgirl, Weds they take up school funding. LMK if you want the URL for WisEye LOL.
Our Legislature is a rank amateur compared to Congress. Our guys will pass a budget on time but it's all political theater. Just a different location. I feel YOUR pain living in the midst of all that BS. That's why the fire will burn long & hot with all those SOB's in there, from all over not just WI.
oh granny, that's lousy news, so sorry to hear it. ((hugs))
-
Granny... WTH??? How awful!! I am so sorry! We are definitely going to have to get the fire roaring!
-
I have something to throw on the fire! Water!!! Like my family and friends didn't have enough aggravation from Superstorm Sandy?! Two weeks ago there was flash flooding in my younger son's neighborhood in Austin and his apartment got flooded! Last week he had to move. Between the tornados in the mid west and the flash floods in Texas... Enough already! I so wish I could throw this awful weather in the fire....I can't believe hurricane season is starting again...
-
Yesterday in Nj I has the AC on..today I'm wearing a winter robe.
Into the fire this crazy weather all over the country.
In PA there is a freeze and frost advisory.
I'm gonna sit by the fire with Hershey's dark chocolate..anyone want some.yummy.
I'm babbling cause I'm nervous.gotta go to visit my friend in the hospital...
So ill eat the bag of chocolate...ill share.. -
Vr. That sucks. Too much.
Granny. I am so sorry. My prayers are with you. -
Granny, so sorry to hear about your friend. You are indeed a friend, to visit her. So many people just don't make the effort to see someone when they are ill, especially if they are terminal. Do they think it is contagious? Well, actually, it IS - we will ALL die, that is part of life. But we can help each other face its challenges, share its joys, hold each other in love. For those of you whose blood-sisters are difficult (or worse), you know you have many other sisters in this world, here by the fire, who will support you. For those whose blood-sisters are good, we can be grateful that we have them as well as those who are here by the fire. It really just comes down to loving each other and caring for each other, and it is so darned aggravating when the rest of the world just doesn't "get it" and treats someone shabbily, by angry voice, mean actions, stupid comments ... etc. Good to have the fire to come vent a lot and share the love.
May you all find moments of peace today, in between all the challenges and hatred that is out there. -
And for those of us who have never had or lost their blood-sisters you are our sisters. I want you to know how important you are to us.
-
VR - Yes, Hurricane season is almost upon us once again. I went through Hurricane Dolly in 2008. What a storm that was. It did over $7,000 damage to our mobile home. We live close to the Texas coast and stay on the lookout for the entire 6 month season. We will have to wait and see what is in store of us this year.
Granny - So sorry to hear about your friend. I know you have spent lots of time with her.
-
Granny, VR...sending hugs your way.
Yes, hurricane season is starting soon. Most of our family lives on or near the Texas coast. We really need the rain from tropical systems, but I sure want the wind and flooding to stay away!!
-
Hey everyone....I got the mask that veggy is wearing on page 139.
I'm havin so much fun with it.
Now all I need is a red or purple streak in my hair.
I'm gonna throw all those other crappy masks into the fire. -
1openheart - I agree. We do need the rain a tropical storm will bring but the wind and flooding can stay away. There are so many places that flood easily and those poor people can't even get out of their homes until the water goes down.
-
Hi Goddesses,
(((Granny))) - LOL on the mask...I am sure you are wearing it well!
(((VR))) - so sorry to hear of DS's ordeal with the flooding. Will he be able to go back? I hope he recovered most of his things....glad he is safe though.
gritgirl...I agree that it really sux to lose a sister-friend. Sorry you had to endure this.
VR ... glad you have a good relationship with your sister. That is how it is supposed to be.
Just got back from an 8 day vacation to San Francisco. Visited DS and traveled a little around the Bay area and Big Sur. My summer course is canceled which means watching my pennies this summer. I'llhave more time to myself though, even during the day. 14 more days of full time work; then down to 8 hours/week for the summer.
When I got back, my bath renovation is 2/3 done...waiting now for me to order some stuff....and my yard is now green with grass and purple with rhodedendron in bloom. I am happy with both. -
Linda, your words are so true...if only......
-
hi all, wicked storms past few days w/more to come. We're OK so far (touch wood).
So I'll be throwing in some tornadoes to go with those hurricanes.
Had to go back to page 139 and check it out, love the mask granny!
Nice fire tonight. It's a magical heat source that doesn't trigger hot flashes. ♥
-
throwing in DDBF to the edge of the fire to get him singed, he needs it, to wake him up. I need it to decide
-
Stay safe, badger
-
Sas, so sorry ddbf is acting up again. *sigh*
Throwing in LE and fatigue again. I hate having to spend an hour or 2 taking a nap or resting while the rest of the gang is out shopping in nurseries & greenhouses. Hate not being able to dig in the garden with them. Hate having my hand and arm so bundled up in bandages that typing is cumbersome - guess I need to learn to be a little less loquacious.
Otherwise, having a nice time with my siblings, just 2 days, but it is great. Hugs to you all.
