Bonfire of the Goddesses

gritgirl - I also have a younger sister that is so self absorbed it makes me want to throw up. She talks to me when SHE wants to. If I make an attempt, she ignores me. I see her on facebook all the time and she won't take 2 seconds to type in HI and hit the send button. Your sister and mine need to get together. They would make the perfect pair.
-
I travelled to have my recon done and my sister was my caretaker this last time. A few days post surgery she got mad at me because I had a dizzy spell and had her pull off the side of the road so I could throw up. I guess I interferred with her spending the day at the beach. Sisters into the fire!
-
If it's her car, I wouldn't have her pull over next time. She should have been glad you didn't just toss your cookies in her lap.

The DH's sister is burning now for as long as the Bonfire got started... The DH and I have been dealing with his chronic illness and all his other illnesses for the last 20 years... She doesn't have a clue how sick he gets, nor does she care to know. Last year, while he was recovering in the cardiac intensive care and was a mess, I made him call the piece of work and wish her a happy birthday. Weeks later he had no recollection of calling... and she was telling everyone how terrific he had been doing.... Mind you she hadn't even seen him. But remember, according to her, he was 24 hours post op major cardiac surgery and he was wishing her a happy birthday. Come on! How sick could he have been? She is the dumbest of the dumbest. Most selfish of the selfish. VR hasn't spoken a word to her in over 20 years and has no intentions of ever wasting her breath on her. The DH barely speaks to her as well. There's no cure for stupid! Why bother tryin'

And... As far feelin' hurt... You can only feel hurt if you let yourself feel hurt! Don't waste your energy on feeling hurt. Invest you emotion on feeling good!
-
Cascader,
I'm so sorry, but glad? you made your way to this site. My evil twin wishes you had barfed on your sis.
My sister has been the worst about support for my BC reconstruction nightmares and continues with mindset that I am having unnecessary surgeries and now poisoning my children.
Unfortunately, my husband is now tied for 1st place with sister dearest and is now 100% non supportive of my remaining surgeries. Never called to see how I did in surgery. Surgeon left message on his voice mail.
So sister, and husband and marriage -- into the fire.
I think they just scorched the moon! -
Remember the movie Breakfast Club? The line "Sounds like your dad and my dad should get together and go bowling." Let's send them all bowling.
-
Can I throw my sister in too? She never once picked up the phone and called to check on me. If we talked, I called her....to let her know that I was having the BRCA testing done, not only for me, but for her and her daughter too. I wish I had a sister that I was close to. I am lucky that I have 3 wonderful friends that are like sisters to me. Friends are the family we get to choose.
-
Folks, we have another bowler! Yes, god bless friends who are more like sisters.
-
Definitely God bless my friends who are like sisters. They are what get me through all this. And BCO, too!
-
I'm at oncologist now. I'm throwing all of this on the fire. My f*cking stage iv cancer, the permanent neuropathy, the ever present anxiety, now the blood clot, the depression. Screw all of this. Screw it.
-
Gritgirl - I feel for you. I dont have the blood clot but I have the neopathy and the depression and anxiety. I have had 8 months of abraxane. I'm tired most of the time. This is the second time I've had cancer. It stinks. I hate cancer. Today I see my oncologist. Yippee Skippee!
BIG HUGS!
-
Veggy, I am so, so sorry. It's just so overwhelming at times. I am obviously totally powerless in this situation. I take Herceptin and asked my doctor if we could do less frequent echocardiograms. Nope. Every 3 months. I just want all of this to stop. There are points where I just think I can't go on.
-
Yes, thank God for all the friends who are more like sisters. My sister is so self centered it wants to make me throw up.
gritgirl & Veggy - I can't imagine what you are going through. It must be very difficult at times. I am here to let both of you know that I am here for anything you need. Also, I want to send out big healing hugs to you both.

Not sleeping. I was out playing games with some friends. I'm still flying high.
The pills are for the side effects of the chemo. They not chemo pills. I am triple negative. I might go on xeloda (spelling?) if it returns. I don't to think about that right now. I never thought I would the words... chemo vacation in my wilest dreams. I prayed for the strength, patience and warped sense of humor to get me through.
