It is quite windy here today but the thermometer is on the way up again. I put some of the plants that I brought in for the winter back insideETA NO outsidse!.
i am taking a break from my cleaning frenzy. I feel so much better. Not having to use that &%$#* nebulizer helps a lot. It wires me up and then I crash. I am still using extra inhalers but I think the new expensive med is starting to kick in because every tree is sight is still budding and pollinating. and I feel a lot better
Miss Daisy -and her parents-but we know who is the important one- are supposed to be here tomorrow. We have not seen her since Christmas. I am trying to clean but things are bad. I have been sick on and off since before Christmas so while what shows just needs cleaning, the corners and behind the furniture I usually move when I clean is gross. I threw out stuff today that the kids left here at Christmas. Now it is time to vacuum.
But first a question. What do I do with all the stupid papers that are not important enough to have their own file but are too important to toss? I guess to much stuff is a good problem.. And then there are the EIGHT boxes of stuff to go to charity.
-
Rosemary -- you create a Miscellaneous File, and then when it gets too full, you create another one...and then another one...
As a lucky person with no allergies, I do tend to forget that the joy I feel when trees are budding is actually another person's misery. So glad to hear the new medication seems to be working for you, Rosemary

Linda .. I love the south in the spring! But my allergies are hating it. For the most part, I just try to ignore the running eyes and itchy nose!
Anne .. I have been reading on this site about those nasty beetles. A guy from Wyoming and a gal from South Dakota posted about the pine beetles in their area. Those fools shooting their guns are not allowed in my woods. I walk my dogs down there and don't want to have to worry about getting shot.
Rosemary .. I have files like that too. I just put them in a box and stuff them in the closet!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day,
Bren
PS .. I have great news. I got a call today from the bank ... and I went from owing them $700 yesterday to them refunding me $20 today! Yay! The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Linda
I have a basket and another basket. Time does make that stuff less important but there is no time to go through it today. The living room and dining room are vacuumed, the living room and the hot water baseboard heaters in both rooms are dusted. I still need to dust in the dining room, put my craft stuff that is in there away and clean the bedroom the kids will be using, but it is lunch time
The cleaning will help the allergies. There was cat hair everywhere. Baxter sheds like crazy.
I love my Dyson. It really gets the carpet clean..
ETA: Woo hoo Bren.
-
Hello people
Did I chase you off?
-
LOL ... chased me off. I just read all that house cleaning stuff and it made me tired. I love my Dyson too!!! Best thing ever for those of us dealing with pet hair.
We have a basket on the kitchen island that we pitch that kind of 'stuff' in. Then when it gets full it's time to sort through it. I usually end up wondering why I put half of it in there in the first place.
Congratulations on the refinance Bren! Did they make you provide a ton of paperwork? We've thought about doing it but we are also talking about downsizing and it won't pay off if we only stay here for a couple more years.
-
I have a file thing for things to be filed soon and a fireplace for things I am just not going to file.
-
Craft stuff is getting put away tomorow. I ran out of steam. DH came home and said it looked great, so that's good. Now if he would just put away his stuff. I don't dare touch it because if I do he'll grumble about how I put it away so he couldn't find anything.

I have a box I call the SHREDDER,and I love it. I put bills in a 12 month file then every 4yrs I shred the oldest. We dont keep anything except tax returns,( We dont have anything worth anything). rosemary, Cats are #1 for allergies. Our youngest was ALWAYS VERY sick and the Dr told me to keep him away from dogs(2),cats(1) and dust(TONS&TONS). At least he (son) has grown up and still has a dog. Everyone stay well and Please have benign testing from here on out--------kad2kar

Hi Everyone!
I'm back from the closing and there were no surprises! Yay! Now we have two months with no house payment. Another big Yay! Of course the truck needs four tires and the oak tree needs trimmed ... wahhh. I'd rather take that money and do a little shopping.
It's nice and warm today, but the wind is howling. I wish it would stop ... it's killing my allergies. I can't stop the tears from running down my face. arghhh. The dogs want to go for a walk, but the wind is blinding me .. so I think I'll skip it today.
Hope everyone is having a good day,
Bren

It's finally cooling down a bit here - temps in the mid to high 20's C - at least the over 30 temps seem to be done with. Makes life much more bearable.
Still on cloud nine over my hair - it is so easy to deal with now. Steve keeps saying it looks pretty.
Still got some pain in my butt from the sciatica but the pain down the leg is gone and it is much improved.
-
Bren, so glad your closing is done and less $$ are on the horizon! Wabbit and Rosemary, I have a Rainbow and LOVE it. It uses water to catch all the hair. Works great!. Sisue, your hair looks great! Keep doing that! Lassie, I have the same kind of 'file' but it looks more like a 'pile'. Waving at Kad2! Linda, I so love spring bulb flowers. Can't do them here.
No word on anything yet. Feeling optimistic, however. -
I had a Rainbow way back ... in the 70s I think ... didn't even know they still made them!

Well, my sister-in-law got her biopsy results. DCIS. She has to have a lumpectomy on what is left of her non-existent breast that she had removed in a DMX 2 years ago. Just goes to prove that even if you have a mastectomy you can still get cancer. She's feeling relieved that it's not invasive. I am too. It will be hard to get clear margins with so little tissue. Next stop, her surgeon.

Good Morning Everyone!
Today is my five year anniversary. It was exactly five years ago today on a Friday that I had my surgery. I can't believe I've finally reached this milestone. What's weird is that the further out I get, the more scared I am.
I'm going to a concert tonight to hear KC and the Sunshine Band play with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. I can't wait. I heard some of the music on the radio and it sounds wonderful! What a great way to celebrate today.
Mary ... I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I'm glad the cancer is not invasive, but I sure wish she wasn't going through this again.
Barbara .. I'm glad to hear you're feeling optimistic! I have a very bad vacuum ... no wonder I hate to vacuum so much.
Hope everyone has a great day,
Bren
-
Congratulations, Bren. The bar is open for celebratory drinks!
-
Thanks Chaplain! I'm having a wonderful day! I went shopping and bought a pair of white sandals and a yellow leather handbag. It's feels so great to be able to do a little shopping.
The concert is tonight and I'm getting excited about it. Going to really celebrate my five years.
hugs to all,
Bren
-
Bren - congratulations!!!! Enjoy the concert.
-
Happy 5 years Bren!
Mary
-
Happy anniversary Bren - glad you got a little retail therapy in!
Sandy

Supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow! COME ON SPRING, I'm ready.
-
Bren----Have fun! I dont think I could stand hearing KC, that music is attached to a boogie button on my body.. CONGRATS-----kad2kar

Happy and sad cancer news - what to think? Oh, well, our Bartender (capital B is deserved) has the solution for both, so let's enjoy the evening! Bren, may the five years be fifty....Mary, may it be low grade and easily operable.
Ok, so I get to be the spoiler of the "great weather" celebrations, and append the following NYT article speculating that global warming is behind the unexpected heat of March:
I loved the cold weather today and yesterday. The sort of sunless breeze makes me want to go biking outdoors.
ETA: Happy to read about Barbara's optimism!

Anybody else up and drinking coffee this fine Saturday morning?
We had storms yesterday evening and the wind took down a big branch of our Bradford Pear tree in the back yard. It doesn't look bad from the house but hubby says it looks worse from the other side ... will have to wander back there and check it out today. Those trees are very pretty but they do don't do well with wind after they get a certain amount of big. Darn.
Athena ... hope your cool down lasts for awhile. I don't do well with hot, humid weather either so as much as I'm enjoying this early spring I'm just hoping the summer won't be a scorcher. The Farmers Almanac says we are getting a mild and dry summer. Hope they are right.
-
Bren congrats on making 5 years.
It'sbeen a busy week here. We are having a sprinkler system put in and lots of trees and scrubs. It's time to move on with life and do the things we've been putting off!
Sure hope the Farmers Almanac is right about the summer. I would hate to do all this work to have a hurricane come through this year.
-
Congrats Bren. One year further away from hell. Yay!
Athena, it can never be hot enough for me. I normally have to survive -40 C winters. Not this year though...our winter was shockingly mild. Something weird going on.
-
Morning Everybody!
Had a great time last night! The hour drive home wasn't too bad. I'm just always afraid a deer will jump out in front of me. In June we're going to go see Queen play with the Roanoke Symphony. Yay! I love Queen. The lead singer is supposed to be really good.
Somebody send me some motivation to get my ass outside and mow. The grass is so tall it looks like it's waving in the breeze. There is just so much ... it gets overwhelming.
Athena .. I imagine you'll enjoy the weather today. It's supposed to stay in the mid 70's.
Rabbit .. It rained here last night too.
Kira .. Sounds like you're really busy!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day,
Bren

Still raining here. I've been dealing with a psycho robin at my house. He's being going round and round my house and banging at the windows. Today is the second day, and there are hundreds of little beak and claw marks on my windows. He seems to go away when I close the shades, but I peeked out and he was sitting on my car, just watching and waiting........I feel like a prisoner in my own house. LOL
For the first Saturday in a long time, I don't have anything planned. I'm going to read, and I might not even take a shower. Horrors!
