Blue .. Does the Ibuprofen help? When my shoulder hurts that bad I take a vicodin ... I'm a wussy when it comes to pain! Does your doc prescribe any pain meds for you? I don't know why he won't just give you a cortisone injection. It might help.
hugs buddy .. sure do miss you!
Bren

Blue, sorry your shoulder is acting wonky. Athena and E, so sorry I can't get to go on the Baltimore trip. That is one trip I actually wanted to go on. Instead I have to go to Tulsa next week. Ugh. Tuesday-Friday. Ugh.
-
The Ibuprofen works pretty well. I have a high threshold when it comes to pain.
-
Oh Barbara .. that really sucks .. I know how badly you wanted out of that OK trip. I wouldn't want to go there either. It is so hot in OK right now. yuck.
hugs,
Bren
-
I'm getting hungry .. wonder what everyone is having for dinner! Last weekend was so much fun eating out two nights in a row. I loved it!!
hugs,
Bren
-
It's quiet here recently. As though some of you are still tired from NOTL. Barbara and E - the ONLY good thing is that if you next come HL might be able to join us.
The weather here is such a change from last month. Really a mild August.
-
I'm still here Athena! I think everyone is busy this time of year. And you're right, I'm still tired from NOTL!
-
I'm here, too .... sliding down to the last few days before D(IEP) Day. Off to Williamsburg tomorrow -- DH has a surprise. I'm still tired from NOTL, too ... I'm glad to hear everyone else is and it isn't just me!
(((((Everyone)))))

I'm here too .. just disappointed cause Tim won't be home tomorrow.

I'm here, but work tomorrow, so need to hit the hay soon.
-
Riley, love the kitty pics! I'm going to have to get my Miko a new buddy really soon. Ever since Murphy died, and we went on vacation, he's become an incredibly needy boy, full of separation anxiety. I want to get a girl buddy for him, and I've been browsing the Humane Society's web site, wishing I could bring half of them home!!
Catching my first cold in over a year. I gues 30 hours of airports/airplanes will do that to a person. Better on the end of the vacation than the front of it, I suppose! But ick. Feels like a Nyquil night coming on!
Nice rain and 62 degrees here, after a hot couple of days. I'm headed to bed...
-
I am glad I am not the only one who is still tired My DH said it was because I was getting older. Thanks hon. He really is a great guy but he is a guy. I have to get to bed. 2 birthay parties this weekend. One is for a grandson and the other is for the six family members with birthdays in August
-
So DH is off this weekend. YAY. I plan to make a great dinner then we will do a pay-per-view movie. Nice way to spend a Saturday night. Since he plays most nights, he likes to stay home when he can. Maybe I can get him to the pool this afternoon. Last night was third Friday, which, in my townhouse community, is an excuse for neighbors to gather at the east pool and bring canapes and drinks and chit chat. We went and it was really fun.
Dinner...hmmmm. I will let y'all know later. No idea now. Hope everyone has a great day!
Athena, a mild August in DC is unheard of,
-
Morning ladies, just waiting for Ray to get back from an early golf date. Then off to do my Saturday run.
Barb, I miss your energy!
-
Energy? I went to bed at 9 and slept in until 7:30. Hardly ever happens but I will take it!
Have fun erranding, Blue.
-
Morning Everyone!
Blue .. Hope Ray had a good time golfing! Was this the tournament he was going to be in?
Barbara .. I went to bed at 10 and got up at 8 a.m. Can't figure out why I was so tired. I was busy yesterday, but not that busy!
Anne .. Hope you're feeling better today. Good thing you caught a cold at the end of your trip instead of the beginning!
Rosemary .. Have fun with the birthday parties .. and Happy Birthday to you again!
Not sure what's going on today. I might clean and surprise Tim. Ha! He won't be home until tomorrow sometime, so I really have no excuse not to get things straightened up! I might make a lasagna and really confuse him .. he won't know if he's in the right house!
Hugs to all,
Bren
-
Bren, making a lasana for Tim sounds like a great plan. Got to keep them on their toes!
Everyone have a fun day!
-
I have already had 2 birthday celebrations and tomorrow makes 3. It's a big one (hint -not 50 or 70) so a few celebrations are okay by me. The only problem is the big family one is here tomorrow. I cleaned the kitchen and one bathroom and the living room will get picked up but that's about it. There is a party to go to this afternoon. I have to dive into the closet to find everyone's presents still. So what do they want presents or a clean house? It is just my kids after all.
Oh and either my allergies are worse than they have ever been or I picked up a cold. I probably got it on the trip. I am still not supposed to be in crowds because of all the prednisone I had for my asthma. I am not happy with my body right now.
Oh I haven't been happy with my body since I was dianosed. Go figure.
-
Rosemary .. I can't believe it's the big 6.0. for you. Geez, I thought you were about 45. You look really young. I hope you're not coming down with a cold. My allergies have been terrible this week, my eyes won't stop watering. I wasn't allergic to anything in Canada, so maybe I better get back up there! ha!
I pick presents over a clean house anyday!
Cindy .. hope all is well in your world.
hugs,
Bren

Rosemary - You're a Little Kid
It's WONDERFUL being in the 60's - lots of time to do things you love, be with friends, and have FUN!!! hope it starts with your Offishul Burthday, and continues forward - gets better every year. That's MY STORY, and I'm stickin' to it. Happy Birthday
-
Bren
Everybody's allergies are bad now so I hope that is what it is. I am taking all kinds of allergy meds . Now it is raining so if it IS allergies that should help.
-
Rosemary .. wish you could send some of that rain this way. It's so hot and dry for here. Everything is turning brown and the leaves are coming off the trees.
Hope you're enjoying all the fun today.
Bren

Looks like I'm the only one around this afternoon. Just finished making Tim a lasagna. He will be so happy he doesn't have to cook/bbq this weekend. I also got him a strawberry pound cake, and I'm resisting the temptation to cut into it now!! I might be a tiny bit bored .. sure wish Tim was getting home today.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Question about allergies. The weather report, also gives "allergy forecast" and for out area the Indoor Allergans - are at Extreme levels? HUH???? How can any group measure the "indoor allergan levels" in a part of the country???
It's TRUE - I'm wildly allergic to dust ( mites) mold, dander ( no animals in my house, cept me) no carpets, bare, swifter cleaned often floors - but the past few days have sent me to Antihistamine AND sudafed ( which are the Big Guns for me) - usually fine with my "chinese herb pills"
SO, can anyone tell me how any group can predict ( measure) Indoor Allergans. Just curious.
-
No idea, sunflowers. So dinner is rice pasta baked ziti with hormone free mozzarella and parm. Ooh baby baby.
-
Tomato salad here. Keeping it light tonight.
-
Tomatoes sound really good! I love baked ziti too.
hugs,
Bren

I was lazy today and bought cabbage rolls at the hot counter at a Polish grocery store. They were so good (much better than mine ever taste). Today is the 2-year anniversary of my very first mammogram that discovered my breast cancer so I went and had a facial with the gift certificate my co-workers gave me when I was diagnosed. I thought today was a good day to use it.
I hope everyone's having a nice weekend and those of you who I met in Niagara have settled in back home!
-
Tonight was pork chops seasoned with fresh rosemary from my herb garden, wild rice and fresh steamed spinach. I have one tomatoe that has rippened. The problem is going to be all of them are going to ripen at the same time and we will be inundated with fresh tomatoes. And no.....I don't can! I will be passing out the extras to the neighbors.
I am in a funk because dh got mad at me once again since he was mad at his son. I told him to go talk to his son and leave me alone - the issue was with his son - not me. But dh would rather vent at me for 20 minutes and get his anger out and then of course he misplaces his anger towards me. I ended up using the F bomb and that ticked him off majorly. So today I am trying to play nice - he gave me the cold shoulder for a couple of hours this afternoon when I got home but hey.....his son that faces NO CONSEQUENCES was out mountain biking. What is wrong with this picture? Another "I HATE BEING A STEPMOM DAY"
