I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

thenewme - I just saw that thread and of course have no idea what went on there as there are lots of deletions. Don't leave us - take a sanity break again, but do come back - pretty please.
Sorry about the kitty Riley - I love them so much and it's heartbreaking to lose one.

Riley sending big hugs! Furbabies are so special.
Jancie, glad you're OK. Waiting to hear all the details.
Thenewme, you could always just hang around here. That's what I plan to do for a while. I can't fart without it being reported somewhere. Total BS but such is life. You have friends here.
-
thenewme - sorry to see you treated like that. Some things are not worth the trouble. I wish you would stay for what BCO can offer you, but I understand your frustration. You have nothing to explain here.
Riley - so sorry about your kitty. G&T always comes in handy.
Jancie, rest as much as you need to, of course.
-
thenewme~
Please do not leave. You are another of the reasonable ones...
-
We do not have to sing the Barney song at all. Ever. Perhaps we could rewrite the lyrics: I am strange, you are too, BCO is like a zoo." And then again, perhaps not.
Do we have an etd for getting out of the backroom and back into circulation? I finally figured out that I could leave this thread open in one tab, visit the active threads in another and just refresh when I checked back here. Much easier than scrolling down, opening the Friendship forum, finding the thread, every single time I just wanted to check if there were new posts. And no, I don't want to start using "favorites". It's the principle of the thing.
Edited to add: I was at the grocery store and saw the pigs feet and missed hearing from medigal. I also discovered that our grocery store has a shelf in the "International foods" (mostly Asian, one shelf of Jewish, Latino food is mainstream here) for British foods! There was canned Treacle and Spotted Dick! I did not buy any. Nor was I tempted by the tasty names.

I so envy those people who fall asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow. I'm exhausted but have been unable to sleep. Just took a med to see if it will help.

riley
I'm so sorry about your kitty.
Thenewme was totally stomped and I can see why she is taking a break but I will miss her
And if I say any more...
I am getting very tired though.

Riley, sorry to hear about Imp. Cyd the cat and I send hugs.
thenewme, please don't let the taliban tactics of some drive you away. Just hang out here with the misfits and troublemakers (that should give some food for conversation).
-
Rosemary (and I wish you would post more often) I feel like making placards protesting our "off Active Topics" list. But, as you say,

Athena - have you tried Melatonin? I have developed pulsatile tinnitus since chemo and was having terrible trouble falling asleep as I keep hearing my heart beat in both ears. I didn't want to take prescribed medication, so tried the Melatonin - I am getting close to 8 hours a night now.
Jancie - hope the tests went OK and they find out what's wrong.

Athena
I have to spend more time at work now and can't post as much as I want.I think I understand the mods reasoning (out of sight out of mind) but I do not like being in the naughty spot.
-
"I hate you, you hate me, we're a dysfunctional family."..
My kids' version of the Barney song. I have always lived in a Barney-free zone.
-
just hang here.. thenewme.. really, your posts are wonderfully thoughtful and truthful.
-
So much stress and strife lately. Riley, I am so sorry about Imp. I know that loss all too well this past week.
I hate seeing people who have contributed so much to these forums leave here. I do think that sometimes taking a breather can be helpful, or being very selective about what you respond to...for sanity's sake. But it lets the "bad guys" win, and I just hate that!!
Hugs and best wishes to all who feel they must part ways with BCO. We'll leave a light on for you.

Riley, I am so sorry about Imp. Off to the airport. Ugh. weird, on this computer it ia page 491 and on my other it is 504. ??
-
Weird, mine shows page 491 now also. Seems to have lost 9+ pages in the last few hours.
-
I believe that means that someone asked to have their posts deleted/ and/or duplicate accounts have been cleared out as part of the mods' one person, one account policy. We are going to have to re-celebrate our 500th page....
Morning, all - hello, scuttlers.
-
Hmmmm it appears that the deleters have been at work. Or maybe our thread is disappearing slowly from the middle. Or, like the Cheshire Cat, one piece at a time until nothing but the smile (or in our case would it be considered a snarl?) remains. *sigh* My computer is completely dead, so I am relegated to posting on the iPad, which doesn't have emoticons.
Riley, I am so sorry about Imp. It always hurts to lose our fur children ... They give us so much and are such comforting souls. I am not a believer, but I like to think about the Rainbow Bridge.
Thenewme, I understand. Been there, done that. I will miss you and hope to see you again. Ang is right -- you are one of the reasonable ones. I just had to break out the duct tape for the rest of this paragraph.
Stress test and pre-surgery appointment with a physical therapist this afternoon. Marching on toward August 23.
Happy Wednesday, all.

Morning girls!!!
-
Morning girls. It seems things have been changing over night. Lost pages, and lost threads. Off to another long day.
-
Overcast day here. Good luck with your tests, HL.
Kira: they have divided the alt./comp. forum into two.
-
If you go to pago 487 you'll see the "500" image in the middle of the page and the next post should be Caerus-Sunflowers about the politician. I had just been looking at it when all her posts disappeared. I believe from one of the threads we were both on that she's been away before so maybe she'll be back again one day.
9:43pm Eastern Australia time.
-
Kira .. good luck today, programming is way over my head!
Barbara .. safe travels, hope you have a good trip.
I wonder how come we lost so many pages. I went back a few page and thenewme's posts are still here. What a strange turn of events.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Bren
EDITED: So Sunflowers posts are missing.
-
What the....? Didn't AussieSheila just post something? And didn't I respond? Where did they go?
Caerus-Sunflowers is gone from the member list, but some of the suspected SPs are gone also.
-
Enjoyful, you were in the atheist group.
-
More coffee, E! Maybe some expresso?
;-)
L
-
CS - We will miss you.

-
I thought she said she was going to stay?
-
So did I .. I hope she can find her way back. I'm so disappointed that all of her posts have disappeared too.
