I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

She doesn't crate well. She's a high-maintenance, special needs kind of dog.
And yes, sorry to drop those anal glands in the middle of our Friday night dinner discussion! I wasn't thinking, preoccupied as I am with carpet issues.

Thank you for the welcome!!
I have to say, I'm having a hard time keeping it. The conversation jumps from one subject, to the next and back to the first subject again. I feel like I'm sitting at the table with my family....... I love it.
Dogs.......we had a dog that used to eat everything, try this visual, eating crayons made for colorful poop and to add glitter, he would eat foil. Then, if he really wanted to give us a good laugh he'd eat a rubber band (it came out wrapped around the poop). If that wasn't enough he would eat fishing line so that we would have to bring him to the vet and spend tons of money. And some how or another, he managed a good long healthy life.

It's late evening here and given all the talk about anal glands, I thought I would tell you some interesting facts about possums. The male can hide is penis and one teste when frightened. They just go !zoop! into the body. How about that for protecting the family jewels!
-
notself, I am *not* going to ask how you learned that little tidbit!
-
Me neither. I might have bad dreams about it.
-
I took my 4 lb. Yorkie to the vet because she was constipated. Enema didn' t work so they xrayed her. She had swallowed a needle and thread. They didn't even have to operate. Used a scope, and were able to get it out by pulling on the thread!
-
Wow Alpal. Good save!! Possum trivia, who knew? Hehehehe. Ummm, just curious, why does he hide just one?
-
Hahaha, Sharon, I was wondering the same! Efficiency, I would guess. He really only needs one.
L
-
Yikes, anal glands and disppearing 'junk'. Who knew?
-
He hides only one because that's all the room he has. His penis is forked.
I learned this little tidbit by direct observation
followed by verifying with the possum people that this wasn't some sort of genetic anomaly.
The lady possums have two vagina.
-
Does the lady possum have two vaginas because the male's penis is forked?
There must be an anatomical reason for this.
-
I told you all I studied up on possums the other night. All this double and forked stuff was in the info I read. I can't answer any questions because I defintely skimmed over the info! My father was once given a petrified raccoon penis. Supposed to use as a toothpick!! In case you're wondering - no, he did not use it!

The Walmart of pot growers opens up in Sacramento. A 10,000 sq ft store of how to and useful tips for growing your weed.
I cracked up when I thought of my little old lady greeters at walmart and the new walmart superstore of pot supplies!
Only in California .. and I say that lovingly, as I'm born and raised in CA.

Well, I must say opossums are much, much more interesting animals than I ever gave them credit for! I thought the only thing that made them unusual was that they are North America's only marsupial......boy, I've got a lot to learn!
Forked penis and 2 vaginas, huh? Just like an old-fashioned electrical outlet....
-
Well this site is certainly educational. And people say science is not fun.

The tuffles sound wonderful ... yay for more chocolate!
Read your link on Beck .. seems he really stuck his foot in his mouth this week. Why or why don't the mainstream republicans do something about him, and call him out for the bad entertainer he is.

My favourite flavour combo -- coffee and chocolate! When I make brownies and ice them (that's "frost" to you Yanks!) I add espresso coffee to the butter, cocoa and icing sugar (okay, powdered or confectioner's sugar!).
Thanks Floralgal -- I'll make one change and use dark chocolate chips!
-
i am still sitting here pondering two vaginas...
-
The two vajajays are because the male o-possum has a forked penis. I don't know if that's scientific or not, but it sounds reasonable.
Bren
-
no, not strange, well, yes it is strange but oddly interesting:)
-
I guess that's better than pondering the forked penis, but I'd rather think about chocolate and I'm not even a huge chocolate lover.
-
Whoever thought the possum could be the topic of so much discussion. I love reading about animals.
I am still wondering about a post of mine yesterday re: a very sordid, rather soap operatic tale. I usually hate these stories, but given my interest in crime and good and evil, this one piqued my interest. Aghain, here is the link:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/25/nyregion/25roger-ailes.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=roger%20ailes&st=cse
On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I was curious as to what others thought. Is this about as bad as reality TV or what?
-
Nothing about Ailes surprises me. Makes for a good soap drama.
-
Now if we could only catch Ailes in the super pot walmart ... that would be a great story!
Bren
-
Ailes fired someone for making an anti-Semitic remark???? That's hysterical. Athena - I love this sort of stuff. One reason why I enjoy Vanity Fair so much.
-
That Regan woman sounded awful too. You get the feeling that the whole crowd of characters deserved each other.
I can't believe I am talking like this. I usually detest small-talk gossip. It's just rather a fascinating tale of villainy in which all the bad guys hate each other and self-destruct. Rather like those "Housewives" shows, except that it's true.
Agree, Bren. Nothing surprises me about Ailes. Or Murdoch.
-
Well .. I had a nice nap and I'm wondering what everyone is having for dinner. I'm living vicariously through everyone elses cooking!
Bren
-
You think Ailes has a forked penis?
-
Don't know about his weiner ... but he sure has a forked tongue. And he got caught!
