((((E)))) Please. please do, my friend. Hope your trial is going well.
MODS: Having trouble with sig - I would like it to be accurate and say the same thing as before except that I add "mets 2013."
-
Athena - everybody had already said it, WELCOME HOME. Plan to stay for a LONG, LONG, LONG time - good quality time, LONG, LONG time. There are so many options, and SOMETHING IS GONNA WORK FOR YOU. Knowing you have 2 diseases to keep in balance, well being, and are in the best place to find out the LATEST ( NIH) in what meds are available, I'm staying very optimistic for you, and have extra to send if you ever need it. ("A friend is the person who sings the song in my heart when I forget the tune.")
E - Happy Trials to you ( ok, ok, I used to watch Roy Rogers & Dale Evans every Saturday morning when I wazzz a kid, and sang along to their ending song) couldn't resist the pun....
SPRING - without cicadas - and much needed RAIN. Who wudda thunk we'd ever pray for RAIN? Strange old world.
Hugs to Blue & her new grandbaby....
-
Athena, we are so terribly sorry to hear your news. ((((Hugs))))) from all of us...
We'll PM you re: diagnosis in your signature.
-
Athena, glad to hear you are back home. Hope you get some good rest and gain some strength back as you begin your treatment course. Healing vibes being sent your way.
-
Athena, all I can say is love you and this thread is not the same without you. Hang in there, we've got your back!
-
and your front

-
And weird pictures that might make you smile ...

Glad you are back in your den. We will be right here with you as you set forth to slay those evil cells. Sending virtual (((hugs))) and some magic fairy dust ... and wishing both could be real.
-
Welcome back Athena. You've been greatly missed. I hope your treatment is gentle on you but kicks the shit out of those nasty mets.
-
And we got your sides too. Honestly---felt like you were gone way longer than you really were. Some of us newer ladies --meaning me mainly, just got a lonesome feeling opening up the mailbox and not seeing your avatar there. We just had X-mas, New Yr's., and every other holiday in-between.
RR - love your sig. line.
Sun -- Everyone I know, including myself, hummed or sang along with Roy and Dale. Also sang the Howdy Doody song and Mr. Rogers too. I think there is a gene inside that makes you do that.
So remember The Long Ranger and Tonto. A little older ( it took me a while to appreciate the more feminine programs ) and I recall the Loretta Young Theater and Loretta Young would have on this beautiful dress -- which I think was usually full with petticoats holding it out and she would walk down this long slightly curving staircase with I think a white banister. Very elegant and graceful.
Those were the days. Later those were the days that were never going to end and here we are.

wabbit - I love your lion.....
-
Jackie, love your sig too. It is beautiful.

Athena, baby! You iz baaaa-aaaack! It sounds very unfun what you have been through at the hands of the medicos, but I am glad they could fix your back.
For whatever it is worth, my auntie was DXed stage 4 more than a year ago and has been NED since Christmas. It won't last forever, but none of us will, and as long as it does last, it is very cool.
-
Dear Athena -- So wonderful to have you back in the pride! Now then -- here's a good story: my nephew-in-law was dx'd with bone mets 5 years ago this summer (started with prostate). He's alive and very well and NED. No sense telling you what meds he's on because everyone's different. But there are lots and lots of GOOD stories about folks living (and I emphasize LIVING) well with mets, and YOU will be one of them.
-
Wonderful to be back amongst you all. Gladder that I can write something slightly above gibberish (that' my story and I'm stickin' to it)? Wabbit - loved your lion.
((Momine)) ((Lindasa)) - may your relatives continue to prosper.
Did I mention Chanel's new cruise collection is out? Haven't seen it, but will when able. The Tamoxifen is rather ironic punishment from the Gods for me. The med I hated and nearly killed me is back in a bid to prolongue my life. We shall see....Luckily I have great medical care. Suzie: no - chemo nor surgery not currently an option with the liver in my case. I even asked about chemoembolization. But chemo in general does not work well for large organs, making the liver a hard bet.
Chickadee: I will try to do a ndouble dance with all those men of the broken promises, including NED.
-
The gibberish was kind of cool. It was like solving a puzzle
A funny for our Saturday (and Suzie's Sunday) ...

-
wabbit - spectacular!
-
Athena: So good to hear your roar!!! I've missed you. Ain't no sunshine when you're gone.
Here's hoping for that dance with NED.
-
-
-
Watch the video......EXCELLENT!

Yes Athena, Stable boy continues to cling to my bones and has been my longest sweetie, Reggie has messed with my head twice on my liver but he's a fickle bastard. He visited this quarter perhaps he will consider me a suitable partner again, one can hope.
NED, I'm told will never visit me because bones mets leave evidence! Elitist Jerk.
Beautiful day here in the weirder(and best part) of Texas. Presidential visit left lots of happy weird Austinites behind. -
Wabbit ... I'm looking for the "like" button!
Athena ... You have been missed by all of us. Sending you a big hug.
love,
Bren
-
Bin, if you find that button, please hit it for me as well. Blue I loved the video and C for Carrots....found your graphic not only true but up front glaringly true. Denial is a wonderful thing if you can do it.....I read that and am not able -- The kettle and pot are both black, period.

Athena - sorry that it is Tamoxifen they plan for you - I know how hard it was before. A man I work with had 90% of his liver removed - mets from cancer of the small bowel - he is alive and well with normal liver function several years later.
Winter is coming - had to climb up in our wardrobe and get warm clothes out yesterday. As they say in Kiwi land is was a wee bit chilly

-
Athena
So good to hear from you. I've missed you.
-
Heavy sigh, Athena. Tamoxifen just about did me in, too, lost my brain synapses with it and became horribly depressed. Only took it six weeks. You're going through so much right now. Heal up physically so you can attend to the emotional stuff. Yes, you're stoic, but I know you're conflicted. We're here to be your sounding board.
Kam, yes there's a C7. Definitely.I have a bulging disc there. Probably on gabapentin for life because of it.
-
Gabapentin smoothes over my PD on's and off's!
Please tell me this ain't so............
