I'm with athena - agree woodward has attention deficit disorder - he ain't getting enuf attention! He is a has been, who still writes books, (tho the last one did NOT SELL well at all..hint for why he's making a fuss, it's coming out in paperback!) and thinks himself "important" - and DEMANDS that everyone else thinks so too. Sometimes a Sabbath Gasbag on a Sunday talk show, ( can't STAND his nasal voice) and I'm t-i-r-e-d of his presence - time to retire, and let someone less opinionated "report" on current events. World to woodward - who cares what you think.

My brain just exploded! Right is left and left is right! My right side is perfect but my left side well, not so good. BUT the left side controls the right side and the right side controls the left! That's the stimulator speaking. I've tweaked the hell out of it and the brain teaser didn't help. hahahahaahahaa! My frozen shoulder is now a frozen hip????????????
How's that for total confusion!

Gracie Allen's Classic Recipe for Roast Beef
1 large Roast of beef
1 small Roast of beef
Take the two roasts and put them in the oven.
When the little one burns, the big one is done.Just in case you didn't know what to make for dinner tonight.....!
-
P.S. Where's Helen Magnus when I need her!
-
Yorkie, I am a nerd obviously. No way can I say the color.
-
haha LInda! Love GRacie!
-
Same here Momine. I always thought I was a left brainer. Now I know for sure!
-
Linda, my kind of dinner, except that since I am a vegetarian, it would be Tofurky. Gracie Allen was so funny!

Blue, that got a reaction here. DH walked in just as I clicked on this thread, "what are you lookin' at?" LOL
Edited to add: I of course meant that fine specimen of manhood.

RR, He sure is! I've been following his career and him ever since the soap "Passions". BTW, does Netflix show soap reruns?
-
Blue, that's like "Never try to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig"?

Hi Everyone,
I'm having a terrible time. I really screwed up yesterday. I was trying transfer funds from a Visa debit card to a checking account and I used the wrong routing number. There's about $650 floating around in cyberspace somewhere. Spent an hour this morning with manager of our bank trying to get this worked out. In the meantime, I feel so bad for Tim. I also gave him the wrong routing number for direct deposit of his paycheck with his new company.
Consequently, Tim and I have been on the phone constantly since yesterday ... lots of cursing, swearing and hastiness goin' round this family right now!
So .... the problem is not yet solved. But at least the crying and cursing have stopped and we're back to "love you baby."
Wabbit ... Your dogs crack me up. Only my really big dog would look guilty!
Linda ... Sounds like you had a fantastic honeymoon .. I'm so happy for you.
love to all,
Bren

oooohh...bren - Big OUCH! That is one of my REAL fears - with all this online banking, and typing in numbers, and not remembering what I've typed in the "code" cuz it's all asterisks...must be for younger ( smarter?) women than me...but I can sympathize with your pain & frustration - not to mention the MONEY....auuuuggghhhhh...hope it all works out.
BLUE- where did you find that FABULOUS pic of the painted tree???? Is it for real? Photshopped? I love it....

Life is precious. My elegant obgyn from Johns Hopkins killed himself after it was revealed that he had been photographing patients in the exam room. He put a plastic bag over his head, filled it with Helium and left a note of apology for his wife. What a tragedy. There is a distant chance that some picture of my private parts are floating in a porn site somewhere. A sick man who nevertheless made a huge positive difference in my life via an endometrial ablation. I shake my head....

Athena, wow, one just never knows!
DH and I have been watching the Jodi Arias trial, and what a psycho behind a sweet, well spoken demeanor that woman is!

-
There are some people who have been identified in pictures and those women are being contacted. I will wait. If I am not contacted, I won't press the issue. Judging from the details and circumstances, I believe I may not be. A gifted but clearly disturbed man.
-
Yorkie - hate to admit it, but I've been watching the same trial. I'm not a big trial watcher, but since she is from the town 35 miles north of me (in fact, I was right near her house yesterday), it caught my eye. I missed the prosecution's direct, so not sure what her motive was? I can't have him so no one can??
Athena - wow. Did this just happen? How sad for his family (and patients). Maybe he just kept the pictures for himself. Bad, but not quite as bad as the gyn who was inseminating his patients with his own ugly sperm.
Linda - the honeymoon sounds fabulous. You almost inspired me to want to travel again - almost.

Sunflowers....I was shaking my head in agreement with you over Woodward. My thoughts exactly as someone mentioned. It has been a long time since Woody's 15 mins or months of fame and I thought this sounded like a "way" to get "noticed" really well again. I too find his slight drawl with the nasal voice almost more than I can handle. Even more so when I know that it has been a long time since anything profound came out of his mouth.
What is the other "Watergate" person up to. I no longer can remember his name. Apparently he isn't still 'making' his millions off the long ago incident.
I think Hannity and Woodward should have to be locked in a room together for two weeks. Just for fun to see if either could get anything straight once they came out.
Ok...I'm sorta bad.
Athena...yikes, but then again, you really don't know. I'm weird in that I think about --- now just when did the de-railing start -- not like you be able to avoid it, but guess I think....if only there were some way to know, maybe the gift would not be lost. I guess we are destined to live out these things but you really don't expect to be compromised by of all people your GYN Dr. Guess I'm glad I'm not a close member of his family.
See you all later.
Jackie

It just happened, yes - found out a few hours ago (would have known before if I had checked my personal correspondence earlier).
Momine - you are probably sound asleep. When you wake up, see this great first collection for Balenciaga by its new creative director, none other than Alexander Wang (he of the unseemly boxing gloves in the latest NY fashion week). Wang had less that 2 months to put this collection together. He says he studied the Balenciaga archives and stuck to the codes of the house. It was a refreshing return to Balenciaga's 50's sophistication - the coccoon silhouettes, the uneven lines - but with modern precision and refreshing minimalism. Very nice:

Wang will continue to design under his own name. It's amazing how many designers work that way. They have their house but are sometimes asked to be creative director of another one. Marc Jacobs, for example, designs Luis Vuitton in addition to his own line. And in addition to Chanel, the great Lagerfeld is co-creative director for Fendi and also designs under his own name.
Spell checker (that is, proof reader) off duty.

Ill, it was Woodward and Bernstein. You might remember the movie Heartburn by Nora Ephron. Sort of based on her marriage to Carl Bernstein. Meryl Streep played Nora. Nora passed this summer of leukemia.
Wiki says he works for Vanity Fair now. -
Bren ... hope you get your snafu all straightened out! I'm always scared of doing something like that too. All it takes is one little typo.
Athena ... you just never really know about people I guess. Sad that he would throw away a career and his life for such foolishness. Even sadder that other people have to pay a price for his actions also.
Did my federal taxes today. State tomorrow. They are worse than the federal ones. They have taken a state tax formula with very few options or deductions and turned it into about an 8 page form. Talk about killing trees for no good reason.

I see Carl Bernstein on MSNBC on occasion. Mostly Morning Joe; maybe MTP. He's definitely my favorite of the two of them.
-
Kam, apparently jealousy was her motive, but, wow, what a lot of overkill. That woman was royally p.o.'d and undoubtedly a sociopath. Anyway, the cross was brilliant at the end. He caught her in every lie and desception, which were both numerous. He demonstrated how forensics negated her entire recall of the murder. I think she's toast. I don't believe in the death penalty, but she may very well get it in Arizona.
