Kam, count me in as a hand holder please.  I'll be in the backpack with the others and won't drink all the wine while I'm waiting with the others, I promise.

    Morning Gals,

I was up early this a.m. running tons of errands.  Not my favorite thing to do at 8:00 a.m., but I needed to get Tim back to his semi and get going from there.  Please keep us in your thoughts ... he's getting ready to change companies and he's really nervous about it.

Enjoyful ... Sampson is so beautiful .. he's really big.  I saw a video of him on FB jumping without a rider ... OMG!  It was the most amazing sight to see!

Kam ... Keeping you close in my thoughts.

    hugs to all,

    Bren

Wow !!!  The tweets were stunning.  I so very much admire Gabby, while feeling sad about her condition.  What despair at times for all her loved ones and for her as well.  She is the perfect spokesperson for what gun violence is about today.  I think those tweeters' should have a bit of her life to live........so easy to judge when you probably haven't "lost" anything.  How little it takes to 'bully' someone's position, when you are not forced to share in it.

    Loving the cat pictures, naturally.

    Jackie

oops....forgot to say --- fabulous pictures of Samson as well. Hope you will be riding soon, soon, soon, Enjoyful.

Thinking of you this morning, Kam.

E - you have a beautiful horse.  I've always loved horses but am so dreadfully allergic to them.

In regards to the Gabby tweets - there have always been bullies, but they've really blossomed with the advent of the Internet and its relative anonymity.  I think there's more than that to it as well, though.  There's something about the way our society acts in general towards people.  There's an underlying sense that if someone is in disagreement with you, that making fun of them (or of their ideas) diminishes their argument.  Instead of having discourse on the merits (or lack thereof) of an idea or position -  the people become the brunt of ridicule.  It makes no sense, as any of us can be ridiculed for all kinds of things which says nothing about any discussion points that can be made.

IMO, those who write hateful messages on FB or Twitter are inevitably harming no one but themselves.  When I was growing up (in the dark ages, of course) the rule of the day was "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all".  And while that rule probably led to some severely repressed feelings and maybe even ulcers, it was definitely the way to get along in civilized society.

Of course, its partner was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".  Sadly enough, too many folks ignore that one too.

The thing is, disregarding either or both of those rules brings to mind another "rule":  What goes around, comes around.......a rule that too many of those who use social media have forgotten.

Just to add:  Samson is beautiful; feeling very sad about Ali; and all digits crossed to hear good news from Kam's doc while we huddle in her backpack!

Here's a little poem from The Daily Show regarding ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome):

Oh The People, Who Hate You..

They do not like you Barack Obama,
Whether on a train, a plane, or llama.

They do not like you shooting skeet,
They do not like you eating meat.

They do not like you drinking beer,
or even if you roped a steer.

They won't like you with the monster trucks,
because, young man, they do not give a f**k....

They do not like you when you pray,
They did not like you anti-gay.

They do not like you cutting tax,
You could not stand... when you wore your mommy slacks...

You cannot reach across the aisle,
Cuz everything you do is vile.

They complained when you killed Osama...

So, on a train, a plane, or a llama,
    Rolling a 44 at Bowlerama,
Despite your nice white Kansas mama.

    Comma,

They do not like you, Barack Obama.

lindasa:  I saw Jon Stewart read that on the Daily Show.  Great poem.

Kam: Hanging in there, hoping for boring.

E: would love to see you ride.  i used to ride a little, was never very good, just did beginning jumps.  Now, I'm just happy if I can get on a horse and walk around a ring without having a panic attack.  Have fun with your gorgeous guy.

Hard not to notice that those hateful statements seem to be by and large from young men or at least all male. You wonder who raised these ignorant bullies. Probably no one, so they form their philosophy of life and their character without guidance. Lashing out with anger and stupidity. Sad.

    Hi, all -

Hoping we hear GOOD NEWS from Kam soon.

Blue, those tweets re: Gabby G. really stunned me.  I don't read twitter, or any social media, so I'm not aware of the HATE out there, and this reinforces my feeling there isn't much I want to read - just as I don't watch much TV, never seen a "reality program" and happily don't miss it.  Rather watch a beautifull sun set, or the snow falling, still, it HURTS to think there are so many hateful people out there...really hurts.  Who "raised" those men, they mostly seemed to be men...

Enjoyful - GORGEOUS, just a gorgeous animal, wow.  Stunningly beautiful...happy riding soon.

Alexandria, so sorry to hear about your MIL - see seems like SUCH a fascinating, brave, interesting woman.

Blue, read that about M. Ali, and it is so, so sad.  I don' think many people today realize or remember how BRAVE a human being he was/is.  Refused to fight in Viet Nam, lost his title, and kept his OWN CONSCIENCE - a very honest, funny, empathetic, BRAVE, BRAVE human being. I wish him peace.

Thinking of KAM - hoping we hear good news...soon...

Here I am!  No definitive news yet (my MO was wrong again...this time on timeframes).  Looks like I'll know the answer tomorrow, but this is what I found out (as you were cheering me on Laughing).  Birads 4B, elongated, heterogeneously hypoechogenic (this from memory as paper is in the car).  << That was from the US.  I quizzed the sonographer and Radiologist about everything and got this out of the Radio.  "If this were a virgin breast, I might be suspicious, but I doubt, given your surgeries, this is cancer"......"It would be hard to believe you could have a cancerous tumor this big since only have surgery 6 months ago (I had it 5 months ago, so even better)."  I was much relieved, but have moments of "but I could be the exception."  Almost time to celebrate. xo
