I'm glad to hear from everyone though have to admit I have been busy and wasn't totally aware of who is was missing. Talk about not keeping up. Also had to look up a word. Thank you, HL. Now if I can make it stay in my head for a while'
Cold as all get out her and sounds like not much sun for today. Rats !! I'm already sick of winter....it is not delightful when it is just cold and dreary. I tolerate almost anything if you can stick some sun into it.
Hope, hope, hope.....for something good right around the next bend.
Spell checker still working only when it wants too. The only thing i have found that seems to have an influence on it is to start using it well before I am done filling out my entry. Becomes a pain with my memory as I so often forget until I'm done.
See you all after work.

Good to "hear" from everybody!
Really hoping that President Obama takes executive action on gun control. If our renegade House refuses to do anything to protect our children and other citizens, someone has to!
Going today to our local Humane Society with oldest grandson for volunteer training. We'll be volunteering there once a week together.
This miserable cold is still hanging on. Hoping I've blown everything out before our training at 2:30!

Yorkie: Try hot ginger tea with lemon. I find it helps a lot when I have a cold.

Way too funny about the puppy Blue......now off to work.

Glad to "see" everyone. Lindasa - enjoy da nap-kin!
HL -May you be spared an epic.
First time since my cancer dx that I can wear cashmere without breaking out in a sweat. I officially declare the Tamoxifen to be out of my system (I stopped taking it two years ago). Maybe I can soon go back to enjoying winter coats.

Add a spot of rum to Sandy's recipe. Does wonders!
-
Alexandria, thanks, I will start brewing right now!
ETA: The rum sounds like a bonus!
-
The rum is old fashioned -- you don't care how you feel so much then.
Jackie
who if really off to work now.

Some sites are really disgusting and so are the posters. I must remind myself to stay away. They aren't funny anymore, just plain old NUTS and my head hurts from too much banging on my desk.

Yorkie - adorable. Looks a little like my Tonk.
-
Blue - love the pics, also the nap-in, L you are all the BEST to keep me cheerful.
Blue, hope acupuncture helps - I also SWEAR by Arnica Gel. Managed to smash my thumb in a door jamb yesterday, and immediately slathered it in arnica gel - no black & blue, and NO PAIN - really - can't wrap my mind around why this stuff, homeopathy, works, but it does for me, so I'm just GRATEFUL. Hope shoulder is moving soon...
really love those pics -
Enjoyful - Medicare covers dentists??? hhhmmnn...not the one I've got. But I STILL love it - with a BCBS supplement, it really HAS covered everything...
BLUE - STAY AWAY FROM PLACES THAT ARE NOT NURTURING, INSPIRING, OR FUNNY. STAY AWAY.

Alexandria, Tonkinese or is Tonk his name?

Just in case anyone needs the section of the United States Code that deals with sedition. Definitions and all. Has come in handy recently.

Like.

Yorkie; he's a Tonkinese. Goes by Xiao Mao - Chinese for little cat.

Sunflowers- I was curious about Arnica, as I remembered Arnica nevosa from my botony classes, but it turns out to be Arnica montana. In searching I found this:
Arnica is sometimes referred to as arnica montana. A component of the popular 'AcheAway' product this can you recover from rough workouts. [<??]
A natural anti-bacterial agent, arnica is good for gingivitis. It is a natural anticoagulant which makes it good for wounds.
Be careful with arnica as it can be toxic to the heart. Pregnant women should not take arnica.
Wiki has some info on "uses and toxicity," but appears to be a problem if used in high does or ingested.Don't mean to be Debbie Downer today. It's finally warming up in California!! Sunny, snowy an beautiful.

Yorkie, LIKE!

WTF is wrong with people? Do we have an epidemic of stupid in this country or what? If dumbsh*ts want to wallow in their own paranoia I say let them drive themselves crazier ... but to harass people like this guy who helped those kids is despicable.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/gene-rosen-sandy-hook-conspiracy-155033813.html
“A man who found six children in his driveway in Newtown, Conn., after their teacher had been shot and killed in last month's school massacre has become the target of conspiracy theorists who believe the shootings were staged.”
-
WR, UNBELIEVABLE! So, now when we do a good deed in reaction to gun terrorism, we are guaranteed to be threated by the gun nuts! American Taliban!
-
I read that earlier, WR. Just when you think that people can't get any more disgusting and vile than the Westboro "Baptist" nest of serpents (because I know decent Baptists and decent people who go to church, so I don't want to conflate them), along comes the despicable piles of excrement that say that the Newtown massacre was a liberal fake-job to confiscate guns. There is nothing I can call them that wouldn't insult the example I was using -- they are so completely beyond description in the depths of their degradation.
And to harass that retired psychologist for helping the survivors ... The man who HEARD the gunshots that murdered those babies and teachers. There are no words.

I used to use Boericke & Tafel Arnica Gel, but now I use the Whole Foods 365 brand - just as good IMHO. My PS even suggested it to be used b4 & aft surgery - both the homeopathic pills ( subliingual) and the gel. I first was introduced to it years ago when I lived in England, there Homeopathic medicine is ( was, this was years ago) much better known. Tho my acupuncturist still uses it - if one of the little "needles" happens to hit a capillary...stops a black & blue mark b4 it can even begin.
ALSO - pain relief - aaaaah, after shoveling snow - on lower back - aaaaahhhh....hope helps Blue's shoulder too...
-
WR: the problem is that the type of people writing these e-mails to this good man are exactly the type of paranoid nuts who shouldn't be allowed to have guns. no wonder they feel threatened at the idea of restricting crazy people from having guns.
-
My head hurts again. NUTS!

Hey all, I'm here, too. Life's been keeping me busy. Great info to read here. Catching up on the postings and the graphics. Love yours above, Yorkiemom. Will be interesting to see what happens with any potential gun legislation. All I know is, if we do not close up the gun show loophole and ban assault rifles, then there is really something wrong with the values of some people in this country.
Blue, regarding your comment about wacky sites....a while back, I stopped reading any hate filled websites where Ann Coulter-loving, Rush Limbaugh-worshiping, Glenn Beck-quoting people post hate, lies, paranoia, distortions, etc... and that certainly includes Fox News. I'm reminded of the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result)....e.g.---the extreme tea party right wingers will not change their warped minds. And I'm also reminded of this story:
"AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE CHAPTERS
by Portia Nelson1) I walk down the street.
There is a huge hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I’m lost…hopeless.
It’s not my fault.
It takes forever to get out.2) I walk down the same street.
There is a huge hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe that I’m in the same place again.
But it’s not my fault.
Still, it takes me a long time to get out.3) I walk down the same street.
There is a huge hole in the sidewalk.
I see it.
Still I fall in…it’s a habit.
My eyes are wide open.
Already I know where I am.
It’s my fault.
I climb out quickly.4) I walk down the same street.
There is a huge hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.5) I walk down a different street."
