I thought they were supposed to give "gracious" speeches after they named their "achievements."
-
enjoyful, and how do you feel about people who "lean right?" You never say ANYTHING negative about them or what they may believe? C'mon....be honest.
-
Medigal, I'm fairly certain that you would have meant to say: dictating to those men and women, or not. At least that's the way I took it. I have no love lost for Mrs. P either. Wish Boehner would not get so much tanning time tho. Maybe it IS natural?
It will be an interesting couple of years to say the least.
Wouldn't it be great to have our reps actually take care of the nation's business instead of each other?
-
Shirley .. I though Pelosi did name some of their achievements.
I agree Iodine .. would be nice to have the reps take care of business!
-
Hi Again All,
I've read all of your ideas, and made a list to bring to our tech team. I appreciate having this discussion.
Thanks,
Melissa

Glad you're checking in with us Melissa!

Did something happen to the "I say yes, you say no..." thread? Gee, looking for my tribe. I see familiar names here. Hi all.
-
Maya2: It's about 5 names down from the Deletees thread on my page. Blue had to change the name again because "certain ones who shall not (or cannot) be named" went a bit crazy with the "delete" button and got us sent to the MelissaShed again.
But things worked out for the best since Melissa now is keeping an eye on us and we are being soooooo good it is about to make me want to be "bad" again just for a bit of fun! A few may have jumped ship but we do have a life before bc so sometimes other things have to take precedent over posting. Glad to see you popped in again. I love it when we go international. I am very proficient in all the languages except I can't speak or understand most of them. I was a riot in France and Italy trying to speak their languages and insisting "they" were the ones speaking incorrectly. However with the help of DP I managed to make it back home without being jailed or hung over a bridge! I love Europe! So stick around.
-
Oh no, not the MelissaShed again. When will we ever learn?
Off to look for the "yes & no" thread.
-
You ladies crack me up! I am looking forward to joining in once I feel I have something witty to contribute. I live about 30 minutes north of Washington DC, so I am lucky to be right near all the political fun!!! lol!
Take care,
Sharon

I haven't read the whole thread so if this has already been suggested, please excuse me.
I was a moderator of a forum of this size. We had 20 volunteer moderators and two administrators. Melissa is an administrator. Administrators can remove threads and ban members.
On the forum I moderated, Moderators could delete individual posts and give warnings. Only administrators removed entire threads. Members could report posts but it took a moderator to delete on and it was never automated. Each "report post" was reviewed by a volunteer moderator for conformity to the rules.
Perhaps Melissa will consider allowing a dozen or so senior members to act as moderators. It sure would lessen her work load. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions!! Excellent ideas!

Hi Melissa:
There are friends that I met a few years ago here that left BCO, never to return. They did so because they were harassed (had posts repeatedly deleted by a few who disagreed with them) and a couple were eventually stalked at their jobs by these same people. They asked you then to do something about these posters who were abusing this site, and suggested that one way to solve the problem was to actually show the names of the "report this post" button pushers.
The posts on this thread have suggested the same thing. Some of us are wondering if anything will be done about it this time? I think we're all looking for concrete answers.
With respect,
Linda

Please just stop the drama. Is that too much to ask. Bleeding hearts...please mature.
-
I'm 58 and no one has called me immature in so long. Thank you!
Maybe I'll get carded at the wine store next.
-
Ah geez Maya .. I'm old too. But, I have been called a bleeding heart before and a treehugger. I do love my trees and my gardens .. and I'd rather be called a bleeding heart than a cold heart.
hugs to all,
Bren

Ladies: You need to learn to interpret Laura's remarks. This has nothing to do with any hearts bleeding. She just wants us NEVER to post anything negative about "fish shooter" Palin. That's isn't going to happen with me unless Palin moves to France, permanently! So Maya2 dear, can't you get your friends over there to convince Palin France needs her?
-
Medigal .. I thought she was talking about the "report this post" button.

If I were a TV producer, I would sign up you guys for a reality show. You are so much fun.
What would you name yourselves? I think "The Deletees" has a catchy ring.
-
Ha, ha. The French really don't like Palin. Find her uneducated, uninformed and well, just not cool. Otherwise, of course, I'd be "happy" to help out.
I'm so glad I live here--except for the clouds!
Bren: I've been called a tree hugger and bleeding heart too. Just keep heaping on the compliments.
Oh, but I don't consider myself old--not until at least 70!
Lucy: Hi, can't imagine why you would think us funny, just because we can be a tad irreverent and a bit silly from time to time. Glad you surfed in.
-
Okay, now I'm laughing. Might be worth it to fly over and get carded. Make me feel like a teenager again.
Going to bed now. Really. This time I mean it. It's late here.
-
Come on! This is not a discussion forum for your opinions about Sarah Palin, government, etc.. Get over it. This Forum is titled: Forums, Comments, Suggestions, Etc. Geesh... don't burden our moderators with your ridiculous opinions regarding personal views. Grow up! Stick to the topic, please:

Geez .. Laura, a little humor isn't a bad thing. Heaven knows we could all use more laughs in our lives.
hugs,
Bren

Reality show? Where????????? I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Alaska or Russia.
-
And definitely not Alaska!
-
-
Sorry ladies, I don't do reality shows because "we" would be TOO MUCH competition for Palin shooting her whittle 'fishes". I prefer to catch my fish with exploded brussel sprouts!
Laura: WHAT are you carrying on about the topic for? (bad English, I know!) The NAME of this thread is 'FELLOW "DELETEES". WE are the "Deletees" and we are making COMMENTS! How come if "you" want to discuss something, it's never wrong but now you are throwing fried bananas at us because we are having a bit of fun with your favorite person SP?? The very title of this thread gives us the right to talk even about things "you" don't like. However, I am now bored with Saragal and my sweet international French lady has abandoned us to go to "sleep" of all things!
One last thing people: If we go ahead with the "unreality show" can I dress up like Palin and say all kinds of things that get me in trouble with the entire world!?
Now I am done about her! You can relax Laura. I won't kid you any more about your friend. Just be a good sport!
-
Why are they called 'reality' shows when they have very little reality in them? Oh well. It doesn't matter. I still love watching them. Some of them.
-
Gee Rocky. Wasn't he suspicious when you obviously look like a squirrel?
