Dear Alpal, Thank you also for your kind post back to me. You also seem like such a thoughtful and kind woman. I am so glad you asked me directly if I was one of the deleters. It so cleared the air, and please don't be too hard on the deleters either, you know we do things in a heated moment and I am sure they would never want to hurt KK. I am telling ya, we need to be more like Mr. Rogers and have a very happy neighborhood and keep those controversial subjects at our bridge or bunco parties. thanks again, Alpal. Oh, I lived in Birmingham for a year, my husband works for USS. Have a great rest of the day, Kathy

Dear LauraTGO I just think you a  wonderful woman, too. I think God has blessed you already and hey, I truly think we are both a positive influence here. Let's get BCO back to harmony and peace once again. What are you having for dinner tonight, dear lady??????  Kathy

I don't have enough strength to hold them down by sitting on them, that's why I needed the duct tape!

Wow, Alpal, was the duct tape intended for me???? I thought we had kind of become friends, different philosophies, but respect for each other. Oh, I get it. It is not cool to be friends with a Christian. Oh, well, I tried. God bless you, Kathy

And the deletions continue ... Pickle and Athena have just been hit.  Sigh

This is crazy people who really object to the fact that the rest of us can get along ... and even joke and appreciate our differences.

I have been having a hard time today not writing about this elsewhere and asking for help in outing the deleters.  So far I am reigning myself in, it's not something that I really want to do but this is getting really old.  It's amazing that conservatives can say whatever they want but whoa to the liberal women.

Kindergarten -- You really have no business declaring who is a Christian and who isn't.  I believe Alpal has never stated her religious beliefs one way or another here, but I do happen to know she is a Presbyterian.  If I were Alpal I would expect an apology.

Yes, River_Rat -- I totally agree with your last sentence.  Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Blue:  You just keep my gorgeous "Jimmy's" photo as your avatar and no one is taking down your thread!  After 7 years on Arimidex if I can't come here to vent to my FRIENDS, the only other place is a "bar" and I don't drink!   This thread does more good than harm imo, and we all need to make sure no "goody two shoes" destroys it for us.   Thanks!

Kathy - you didn't read far enough. I clearly stated that I needed the duct tape for my own hands.

Unfortunately Athena has been put on restricted posts.  That is so wrong.

I do not see anything wrong with debate, even about contentious topics.  We're not Stepford Wives -- we are thoughtful, passionate women!  If someone doesn't like a thread/topic/posts, just don't go there.  Simple.

This has gotten ridiculous now.  I loved Pickle's posts.  I think she's the cats meow!

And Athena too.  What did they write that was so awful to the thought police?  I was taking a nap and missed it.

I haven't a clue what they did.  I don't think there's any way that I can figure out the thought processes of the deleters and I don't want to waste brain cells trying.

When did I declare that Alpal was not a Christian, oh, my gosh, why do you make things up, Lindassa. I wrote Alpal a very kind post earlier All I said was, I guess it is not cool to be friends with a Christian. I did not say that she was not, I was not even talking about her. Unbelievable!!!!!!!

I lurk on these threads a lot - I am a scaredy cat about posting because I don't want to get removed by the "community", but I just have to make a comment.  The post from Pickles that was deleted was posted over 14 hours ago and Athena'a post was from over 8 hours ago.  So, the phantom deleter is thinking she is really slick by choosing random posts to delete.  The content of the posts do not in any way violate BCO policies.  I have been here for almost 5 years and I remember when the boards were overrun by spammers, so I applauded when the report this post button was added and I am one of the first to report a spam post.  However, the damage being done by one or two members who use their alternate log-ins to attack innocent individuals may be worse than the spammers were.  If you look through the member list, you will be stunned by all the logins that have no posts at all.  Those are the "people" who are being so cruel and vicious.  It is almost too bad that it is so easy to sign up. Honestly, there must be some vetting done for each new log-in.  And, new log-ins (IE all those with no posts) should not be able to report a post.  Reporting a post should be earned - just as being able to do more than 5 posts has to be earned.  I am so sorry to see this going on.  Who knew adults could so easily revert back to acting like two year olds.

Well, Kindergarten, what other inference would I (or most anyone else) make by your comment to Alpal:  Oh, I get it. It is not cool to be friends with a Christian.

ADK -- You've seen alot!  But I think 2-year-olds haven't yet learned to be purposefully mean!  I'd put the age a bit higher.

You are correct, Linda - I insulted two year olds.  How about spoiled self centered mean girls?

All I can say is, Lindassa, you are one of the troublemakers that I was talking about. Please do not post to me again!!! Kathy

    Hi everyone...

I just want to chime in with an observation.  I have been sitting here with my Mom all afternoon and I was showing her this site.  I was explaining how I got off to a horrible start, but everyone was so kind to give me a second chance.  I also want to show her how to log on so she can give everyone an update on me after my surgery on Friday. Anyway, we are sitting here reading some of the topics.  Maybe it is the wrong way to do it- but I keep hitting active topics to see if a discussion that is currently going on interests me or pertains to me.  The two that are consistently popping up are this one and the "People are Strange"one.

You see, I am sitting here scared to death because my double mastectomy is this Friday.  I am sitting here showing this site to my Mom so we can be encouraged, etc. by other people's experiences.  While I do think there is nothing wrong with having threads that have nothing to do with BC, I do think that all this meaness and cattiness is so sad, and I am embarassed. Speaking from someone who is just starting out with their BC jounrey, it is very sad and ridiculous to see everone being so mean to each other.  I am going to start just reading the threads that apply to me, but I thought you might want to know how a newbie feels when she stumbles on these threads, as I am very sure newbies are reading them all of the time, particularly those who are not 100% sure how to navigate around.

I am so scared, and I do not think all this pettiness belongs on this forum.

Just thought I should share my perspective and maybe represent all the newbies.

    Anna

Anna:  I do understand why you want and need threads to help you cope with your double mast soon  but aren't there a lot of other threads that give this help and information.  If you scrool through the threads I think you can find the titles of ones that are mainly about the subject you need.  We have this thread just as a place to come to not have to think about bc 24 hours a day.  When I want or need info on my Arimidex or questions about my bc, I go to specific threads on these subjects. There is plenty of info for you in this forum on mastectomies.  You just have to check the titles. Hope this helps.

    Thank you Medigal...

I am reading a lot of information now on mastectomies, and it is very helpful.  I just wanted to point out that I didn't really know how to look for topics that well, I just usually look at the active topics for one that interests me.  I just think that most newbies probably do that too, and when some of these threads get mean and there is post after post after post- well, those are the ones that keep popping up and you click on them because you are curious.  I just don't want people like me who are scared and looking for support to think that the majority of the threads here are back and forth name calling, etc.  That's all-  thank you for your response and suggestion.

Anna, I wish you good luck with your surgery.  I hope all goes well for you.  It is sad that there are threads like this, but unfortunately, it's just the human condition.  99% of the time these boards offer nothing but support.  You can choose certain threads and mark them as favorites so that when you log in, you can go to "my home" and those threads will be there for you.  You are correct that this sniping is not good for anyone.
