I had six rounds of TAC (Taxotere, Adriamycin, and Cytoxan) and I'm two months out from my last round and my hair is growing fast and furious now. It's still in the hedgehog phase (ha), but I'll be curious to see what it looks and feels like in a couple more months.

I am 2 1/2 years out from my final chemo. Before taking taxatere I did read that permanent hair loss was a possible side effect in 6% of patients. My MO really downplayed this saying he never had a patient whose hair did not grow back. My hair did grow back to its normal thickness and texture, although like many it was crazy curly for awhile. It is interesting though, that whenever I see my MO he comments on how nice my hair has grown back, making me think that despite what he initially told me, he has seen more patients with permanent loss.

I had four rounds of taxotere in 2015. I'm about 13mo PFC now and my hair has returned to the same fine texture as before. It was very curly for awhile, but it's more relaxed now. Still has good body, which is a change--my normal hair is stick-straight and baby-fine

I cold capped thru 4 rounds because of this. It came back (again as this was a recurrence). I lost 75 percent because first round didn't have enough caps in the rotation or dry ice. Still in a hot humid Ohio summer, I got away with basball caps and no wig!

I am coming up on 5 years since last chemo and my hair is very thin with bare spots of visiible scalp. Never returned to what it had been and I have been wearing hair pieces since my head was shaved after 2nd chemo treatment. Was it the taxotere? Is it the nearly 5 years of Arimidex? No one on my medical team can give a definitive answer. And, yes I'm pist about it. I want my hair back.

it’s been over 10 years since I was on TCH (taxotere). My hair was always fine, but now I look like an old man too, scalp shows thru hair, very thin growth. I gave away all my hair blowers years ago since I only have to towel dry my head and comb my hair and it’s dry within minutes. It’s very straight and so thin that I can’t even curl it as there’s not enough hair to give it some body.

I’ve had small children ask me if I was a boy or a girl. I simply try not to look in mirrors
