Calling all TNs

Robin, (aka hhcats) - if you will post your diagnosis and treatments in your profile, we can refer to them as we communicate. Sometimes that helps to understand where someone is coming from. (If you don't mind making them public.
)
Welcome to this board, and welcome to all the other newcomers. I've found it a good one, both for inspiration and for a source of worries!

I hope you can see my profile information now. I just realized how to switch it to public. Duh! Thank you all for your kindness. Tomorrow I will be 12 weeks out from my DIEP surgery so officially off the recovery clock. I am going to celebrate it by climbing a local set of "stairs" 300+. Weather permitting. We too have been getting clocked with rain although we spent most of yesterday outside in the pool.
I used to have two cats. Hannah (age 17) went downhill (kidney disease) the week before my lumpectomy - so we lost her then. I always felt like she took one for the team knowing that I was sick. Hobbes is 18. He's still bright-eyed and bushy tailed. He's half Maine Coon and huge. It's like snuggling a mini bobcat!
Today I am putting the family to work cleaning. We lost focus during chemo and my DIEP surgery and our house looks like it. I don't expect miracles but I do expect to see the floor!
I'm going to post this so I can see if my switches to pubic worked.

Congratulations HHCat, you are a week or two ahead of me but I had direct to implant, an easier surgery. I am now putting exercise (an hour a day, 6 days a week) to help prevent recurrence but I doubt I could do 300 stairs! Wow, you are doing great!
Peggy -
Hi Peggy
I haven't done them yet! Stay tuned! My trainer suggested "we" try them (he'll have no problem) and I feel like a wus if I don't at least try. Good for you on the exercise, too. I wanted to go direct to implant but here in Canada we get one shot at surgery and my doctor was worried the results wouldn't be "perfect" (he's a perfectionist) and then he couldn't fix them - I was in good shape and had just enough meat on my bones to get the DIEP and some smaller boobs! I'm glad he talked me into this - but it is strange to see this new body I have!
P.S. We have 7 sets of public "steps" and some have close to 500.

Another weekend quickly over but I am off sick today with a heavy cold. Wonder how long I can make it last!!
Has anyone heard how Dawn is doing. Hope she is peaceful and free from pain.
-
Skype is an excellent idea! Is there a way we can do a group Skype? Like we can plan for a time / date when everyone can join in. What a fun idea! You ladies are awesome!
My hair is now colored (I had worn the wig for over a year and it's been 15 months post chemo, and now it is almost to my shoulders). I have 2 little pony tails on top of my head - one on each side. I'm wearing it like this out later today, and nobody can stop me!
- Looking for great wigs that are very reasonably priced - try Vogue Wigs
-
I know we can skype from Facebook...I call my son all the time...just when I miss him and want to see and hear him
-
*peers around empty room*. It's so quiet in here!
-
I'm a bit husky voiced with a cold but I'm here Kath. Relatively noisy as usual. I had Monday off sick should have taken the next week. Feel bleeding awful and it would have been so nice to stay at home!!
Inspired I don't know if we can group skype. This is the first time I have done it but it was so nice connecting with OBX and now shortly Titan. I bet I don't sound like she thinks I do lol. I'm just itching to see her face and get to know her.
You go girl with the hair. If people don't like it they can go whistle. My granddaughter has little pony tails all over her head at times so I bet you look cute. I didn't like the wig at all and only wore it once so can't imagine wearing it in hot weather. Mind you it might keep me warm at the moment.
Hope OBXK is enjoying her trip to Chicargo. How far away would that be to the Outer Banks, anybody know.
No word on Dawn so I hope she is pain free and peaceful.
-
So very very special.
-
Omg, cutest puppies ever!
-
*waves HI to Pickle and Cocker*
Annie I can't give you an exact answer, but it's approximately 900 to 1000 miles to Chicago for her. Maybe when I finally drag my computer down here, I'll be able to Skype with y'all. Maybe that will give me the incentive to get that task done. *grumblesfreakingtechnologygrumbles* -
Just saw on FB that our beloved Dawn (inmate) has passed away. Rest in peace to our beloved sister. You were a courageous fighter and inspired many

Maggie,
Thank you for letting us know. I am so incredibly sad. She was such an amazing woman with such spirit and zest for living. Rest in peace, dear Dawn.

So very, very sorry to hear of Dawn's passing - she was truly an inspiration to all of us. I hope that her family and friends are comforted by the fact that she is finally at peace. To those of us who shared her journey with her, we are priviledged to have known her and benefitted from her advice and knowledge. To those who have only joined our group recently, Dawn (Inmate) was a lovely lady who did not go down without a fight - she was valiant throughout her illness and should be an inspiration to everyone to not give up. Rest In Peace, dear Dawn. {{HUGS}}

I couldn't have said it better Doreen. Rest in peace dear Dawn. She will be greatly missed.
-
So sad about Dawn, my prayers are with her family.
-
*Running to bathroom to have a good cry*
Heartbroken over Dawn. She had a very strong impact on me in my early days of my treatments. I miss her so.
-
Dawn:
The world was a brighter place because of you, and now the skies will hold yet another bright star.
Soar high, dear friend, we shall all meet up someday.....

Thank you, Mags, for sharing such difficult news. Rest in peace, Inmate. I will never forget your brave photos and your strong will to beat the beast. Sending prayers for her family.
-
This is just too sad. Again.
-
Hi All....I am sorry to hear about you friend Dawn. I am kinda new here. I came home from the hospital and logged on to get some feedback and saw the bad news.
I was just told that in addition to my cancer being TN it also shows choriocarcinomatous differentiation. Apparently this is very rare and there isn't much info about it. Does anyone out there have the same thing or have any info to share. My rug has been pulled out from under me.
-
Dawn was such an inspiration to all of us. She gave me so much hope at how strong and brave she was. She will be terribly missed. RIP my sweet friend.
-
So heartbroken over this news. Dawn was so appreciative of every day, such an amazing and beautiful woman. She will never be forgotten.
-
Welcome Una2008. I don't have any information, but someone will be along to help you. Sorry you had to join us but you will find great support here.
-
I am afraid to cry, might not be able to stop if I start.
-
Thanks bak94. I'm hanging in there.
-
Una...sorry I do not have an answer for you. Perhaps over on the tnbcfoundation.org site someone will be able to help too.
My heart has been sad all day. I hate BC so much!
Maggie
