Anyone else addicted to the boards??
This isn't a serious question (sorry)! Just wondering if I'm the only one who gets panicky if I don't check the boards, or hear from Beesie, ten times a day??? Hugs to all! The weather's beautiful here. A shower of apple blossom petals every time the breeze blows.

hmmm...maybe it's just us...and that's why we're meeting up so much. imagine if we COULD sit on your porch drinking beer all day...
-
Laurakay...you only have 48 posts....how could YOU be addicted??? ha!! just kidding...
I do check a couple times a day...yes. This is a lifethread for me....so you guys aren't alone...

I don't post very much but I do lurk and read the boards almost daily
-
Well, you can certainly learn a LOT from everyone, that's for sure!!
-
I get on everyday, even though I don't post much. I hold this place dear to my heart, I agree with robin, it is a lifethread. I still learn so much and pray for those who are on this journey.
hugs, beck

Hmm, if there's beer and a porch maybe I'll start coming back more often! When I was first dx'd in November and then waiting for lumpectomy (early March) I came all the time.
Now I'm just feeling so confoundede and miserable and scared I only check a few times a day. Waiting for MRI now and next treatment plan (already had lumpectomy, re-excision and still didn't get clean margins....)
-
kitchenwitch - so sorry you have been having such a hard time. You have been 'waiting' a long time. When is your MRI? Are they thinking mastectomy now?
Come on over....porch and beer available.
-
Thanks, Mom3... well... maybe they are thinking mastectomy but I'm not (yet). Have lined up a second opinion and might line up another... and I guess we'll just have to see what the MRI shows. Would love a beer! thanks!
-
I'm not addicted, I can quit any time I want. . . I just don't want to!!!!
Kitchenwitch, I'm so sorry about your situation. I hope you get good news soon. When you say not clean margins, do you mean not the perfect dream margins that the surgeons define as clean or plain old still more junk?
-
Now, 3mons, you know that admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery!
No, she said the margins had microscopic bits of DCIS. I know they want squeaky clean margins but I also heard that the follow-up rads is to clean up stray cells. Well..... sigh... we'll just have to see what the MRI shows.
Was hoping to just go straight to rads after the surgery (or even two surgeries). Felt irritated that surgeon didn't suggest the imaging; it was my idea.
-
Just ask my kids they tell me all the time that all I do is sit on my laptop ALL DAY.......I wish I had all day.....but really this has been extremely helpful to me to read about everyone else and to find out how every case is oh so different I would be lost without this place.
Kitchenwitch I know it is hard especially when you think it is only going to be 1 surgery and you end up having more......hang in there and let us know the outcome, praying for only the best.
About those beers, pass one along please.......
-
I'm Linda, and I am addicted to these boards.
And yes, pass me a beer too!
-
Beck-Love your pic. I have two bullies of my own and love, love, love them! Bulldogs are such sweeties.
And yes, I am a little addicted to the boards. It is such a lifeline to all of us bc girls. We need each other to learn and to cope. Thank God for this board!
-
Yep, you ladies have been a refreshing breath of sanity for me on a daily basis!
I wish we all weren' t on this boat, but I do feel better being able to talk to others and see your informative posts about DCIS. I am constantly seeking information about breast cancer now, so every tidbit of information gets catalogued somewhere!!! It all helps, and though I would much rather be drinking beer or beverage of choice with you ladies, fact is, you are a great source of support for me!!!
So, Laura, in answer to your question, YES, I check this board at least 2X a day!
-
I think anyone who posts on this thread is, by definition, addicted to this board.
Kitchenwitch, I've been thinking about you and hoping that the MRI was helping you negotiate the next steps.
-
Well, I know I can't go to bed until I check on everybody and check all the updates on all of my "favorite" threads.....I guess that *could* be called addiction......<grin>

Speaking of boats that we're in together - I was just reading about some lake where you could rent a "party boat" for tooling around the lake. I've decided that we're in the party boat together - pass me a beer!
Oh, yeah, right, I don't drink.
Dang.
I try to read the boards at least once a day - I post less. It usually makes my day. Helps to find folk going through the same thing.
-
I am on here a couple times a day. Robin, I'm a bit like you. I have to check on everyone and any updates before I go to bed. So, yep, I'm addicted
-
I am addicted big time!!! I have to check the boards a few times a day.
-
Oh yes! The support and encouragement obtained from this very special place keeps me going forward and gives me hope everyday! Now that I have started to get to know people, I need to check on them and I do worry when I don't see posts. It is also wonderful to be able to voice my feelings where people understand them. I would be bursting inside if I couldn't let it out! Hugs to EVERYONE!
-
I cannot count how many times a day I come here since I have joined. I used to come here alot before I joined. I'm addicted! I found out that my feelings weren't unique to me but were shared among all of you. I understood myself better through you. Thanks!!!
-
Count me in I get upset when i do not have acess to a computer.Pass me a beer pls.
-
I'm here, in the chemo chair ,checking in and lurking around. Guess that qualifies me as an addict? Would so prefer to be sitting on the porch, beer in hand, surrounded by support group of ladies that are "in the know"!
-
I cannot tell you the mountains of good advice and information I have read on this board. I am conforted to know I am not the only one going through all these ups and downs. Thanks Ladies, I have no intentions of giving up now.
-
Wow! When I was going through my surgery, chemo, reconstruction, etc., back in 2007, I sure was addicted to the boards! They were truly a life line, and I learned so much.
I "lurked" for many months before I had the courage to join and post!
Now, nearly three years later, I find myself checking them at least once a day to see if there are any questions or subjects I can respond to that I have gone through, and possibly help someone out--emotionally or information wise.
Big thanks to all the "old timers" that keep coming here to help the newbies!
-
I'm addicted BIG TIME and I'm not about to quit! I may not post often, but I read these boards all the time and they have been a great source of comfort and information. Cheers to all you wonderful ladies! ~Carol
-
So, once we've acknowledged we have a problem, do we go to a meeting, or do we just come to the boards?!
Be well,
Maria
-
he he he
I guess we come to the boards and start a 12 Step, BCO anonymous thread!!
"Hello my name is Jane, and I am a BCO addict. . ."
Edited to say, didn't someone start a similar thread a couple years ago, about BCO addiction and 12 step program? I cannot seem to find it, but I think we all had quite the riot posting on it--I will keep looking for it. . .
-
Hello Jane, my name is Sheila and I am a BCO addict. When I was first diagnosed in 2007 I was on here constantly and refreshing the page to see if anyone had answered my crazy questions. Now I am still on here every day but instead of asking too many questions (LE aside) I am trying to help answer the crazy questions of the newbies and try to settle nerves.
Sheila
