Please Pray For Me
Dear sisters,
I am a 16 month breast cancer survivor. I'm still getting herceptin IV treatments every three weeks. I'm taking femara and I feel okay. I am a 38 year old mother of 2 small children. I have a wonderful husband who has supported me through all of this. He was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 days ago and I'm breathless most of the time. I don't understand. He is 41 years old. I am not even done with my treatment. What couple has ports at the same time......I just need support. I am sooo devastated and scared.
Love, Patty

Patty, you are at the top of my prayers right now; you and your husband. What a heavy burden for you both to be bearing...at the same time! So hard when you both need nurturing. Hugs sweetie...
-
Dear Patty,
You and your family are in my prayers and in my heart. I wish I could do more.

Patty, I am so praying for you, your husband, and your children. I am 38 years old with 4 children. My friend's dad had pancreatic cancer and beat it. The Lord will help you too because He loves you.

Patty,
I am so sorry for everything your family is going through. I will absolutely remember you in my prayers. Cancer is a very scary thing for just one family member to be going through, I can't imagine both. I'm so sorry. ((((((((((((((( BIG TIGHT HUGS )))))))))))))

Please tell me more about your dads pancreatic cancer. How long he's a survivor...etc. My mother died from pancreatic cancer. She lived four years which was rare at that time. My husbands died from it too and he lived 13 months. Please tell me of his treatment and anything else you did for your dad. thank you!
-
Thank you everyone...your words bring me tears and strength. I'm a strong person but wow...this is just overwhelming. Every person in my life that we tell looks at me like "what? huh?..just because they can't believe I am fighting this and how he is going to have a big fight too.

I am praying for your entire family...

Hiya patty! It was my friends dad and he has been clean for 10 years! He did a LOT of natural remedy stuff like oxygenation. I am more of a conventional medicine person, but hey, whatever works, and it apparently worked for him. I just emailed my friend to get the scoop and will post back here when I get a response.
Remember...even Jesus broke down the night before He was crucified, so strength is relative
. You are on my permanent prayer list, and God will so guide you! -
Thank you so much for any info you can give me. What is oxygenation? I mean..I'm a nurse and I know about supplemental oxygen but is there a place you can get that sort of thing? We are already juicing because of my breast cancer. I've also switched to alot of organics and we are loading up with Vitamin D because of all the new studies surrounding cancer and Vit. D deficiency. My mom drank essiac tea for a little while and like I said..she did great for four years. BUT she stopped drinking so who knows. I would love to get into contact with a 10 year pancreatic survivor person to know everything they did. Thank you for all prayers and help you can give me!!! *HUGS*

My most heartfelt prayers for you and your family Patty. "God works in mysterious ways". He knows you are up to his greatest challenges and He, all your loved ones and your girlfriends here can't wait for this detour to be over when you and your husband can enjoy the very best of good health.
-
Hi, Patty! I'm definitely in the dark about any healthy remedy stuff (sad to say, though I'm learning and I do the Vit D now which I WISH I knew before I got BC but anyway, I digress...). I know that oxygenation is where they over oxygenate the blood cells and the theory is that cancer cannot survive in that kind of environment. I know you have to go to special facilities that do this kind of thing, but I really dont know if it works or if that was what did the trick for my friends dad. I know he definitely did not go with chemo, so who knows! But when she emails me back I'll give you all the info!
What is essiac tea? fascinating!

Hi,
You need to turn the light on to the "healthy remedy stuff" girl!!! Seriously...I need to know where, how, what about this oxygenation. I do understand that disease hates oxygenation. This is why exercise plays such an important role in fighting disease...so I need to know where he went. I know there are "self oxygenating" websites where you can buy stuff but I am always worried about scams. Go to www.essiacinfo.org and you will learn about essiac. Unfortunately, I was afraid to drink essiac myself because some of studies showed it contained estrogens and my cancer was estrogen receptive. My mom drank it. We bought it from www.blessedherbs.com. You have to make it yourself but I totally believe in it's power. Get the book Beating Cancer With Nutrition...it's an awesome book that will inspire you to eat better and you will learn so much about diet, supplements and cancer. We all wish we were more informed prior to our diagnosis but now that we know we can make changes to prevent recurrence and help others to become more informed!!! Hope to hear back from you again when you hear from your friend!!! Thank you!
By the way....cake IS great...but don't eat it..sugar feeds cancer ....LOL

Patty,
I feel for you, my husband and I had serious health situations at the same time. We were supportive of each other but he lost his fight. He needed a heart transplant and 5 days after my last treatment he lost his battle. I tried to conceal as much as I could about my fears, concerns, pain, etc.
The grace of God is sufficient but it is sure a rocky path. Made me a stronger person.

{{Patty}} best wishes and prayers for your family to ride out this storm.

hey patty!
My friend responded to my email...here is what she said. I was off on the details...it was not oxygenation and he did actually do chemo. I can PM you her number, LMK, if you want.
"In my dad's situation they were able to do a Wipple Surgery to remove part of his pancreas as well as part of his stomach, part of his liver and a few other things... from that point they told him to do chemo treatments for I think it was 6 months. His survival rate after the surgery, according to statics, was not good, but.....
The main alternative treatment my dad did was Vitamin C therapy along side the chemo treatments. He did the vitamin C a few times a week throughout the chemo treatments and had no side effects from the chemo. He continued the vitamin C therapy after as well. It has been almost 7 years since he was diagnosed. He still does a vitamins C treatment about every other week and he is doing great. Doctors are not big on vitamin C therapy if you mention it to them.
Also, eating a low sugar diet is very important because cancer feeds on sugar. I can give them more details if they would like to call me. You can give them my number." -
Hi Patty
Just checking in to see how you're doing.
Sure hope things are going as well as can be expected!
You and your family are still in my prayers!

Hi ladies,
Thanks for all your posts! Things have been tough this week because we still don't know everything and we don't have a plan. You know how that can be the hardest I've been supporting my husband and he seems so depressed. Of course....anyone diagnosed with cancer has a right to be depressed. I just hope he turns that around into strength to fight. I've learned so much about diet and supplements in regards to protecting ourselves from disease and I hope he'll be open to that. He is eating what he can right now because of nausea. They are going to put a stent in his common bile duct next Monday and give us a plan. It was hard going through breast cancer and even harder to see my husband have pancreatic. I called my onc and ordered a follow up MRI. I told her that I'm not going to wait for pain to be checked...I've got enough on my plate to worry about. I told her if she wouldn't do one just to do it then I was going to have pain everywhere and she'd have to do it anyway....haha. I just need keep up on the status of my breast cancer (hopefully gone forever) so I can take care of my husband, two small children and continue my two jobs. Please keep me, my husband and my babies in your prayers.
*Hugs*
