It is a dreary day here today as so many of them have been lately. My devotional today really hit the mark for me and I thought I would share them. satan must not have been too thrilled with them because I had a time getting them to paste in here. I hope these verses give you encouragement today. I can't get the bold off. Sorry.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.v 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Joshua 1:5New International Version (NIV)
5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Amen to those verses Nancy. Hello everyone I continue to read and pry for everyone here. I saw my PCP Friday but they had trouble with my insurance so I have to wait until tomorrow and call both the clinic and the insurance to make sure the referral for my new oncologist goes thru. Please pray for the cancer not to spread as I've been without treatment for a month and a half now.
Thank you
Aurora
-
Aurora, I have been praying for you and will continue to do so. Praying you can see your new MO as as possible.
Arcats, how are you doing?
Joanne, praying for you to feel much better and for a good report on Thursday.
Praying all of you will have a good night's rest.
Love,
Nancy

Philippians 4:6-7New International Version (NIV)
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-
If I were on a desert island and could only have one or two books from the Bible with me, I'd choose the book of Romans and Philippians.
Thanks for the post.

This is a much different version that you normally see but it is still powerful.
Habakkuk 3:19 The Message (MSG)
17-19 Though the cherry trees don't blossom
and the strawberries don't ripen,
Though the apples are worm-eaten
and the wheat fields stunted,
Though the sheep pens are sheepless
and the cattle barns empty,
I'm singing joyful praise to God.
I'm turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God.
Counting on God's Rule to prevail,
I take heart and gain strength.
I run like a deer.
I feel like I'm king of the mountain! Here is the song version.
-
Nancy the scripture posts are so welcome, encouraging and a blessing. I LOVE playing the 'AS THE DEER' song on my flute at church. ( Feeding the local deer like we do I relate to the deer things). Anyone read HINDS FEET ON HIGH PLACES by Hannah Hurnard? A GOOD book!
The Lord is our true source of hope and real peace and joy in the midst of the storms we are dealt. These trials are not forever and that's a comfort. We are SO very blessed to be His - and we will be with Him and all of our brothers & sisters when we all draw our final breath. While we don't know the day or the hour of our departing this earth we are to look with joyful anticipation to eternity in Heaven with our Lord - no more pain, tears or sorrows then. Perfect new heavenly bodies to serve and praise our Lord! Meanwhile we trust Him day by day - sometimes minute to minute - and seek His face everyday. He is faithful and hears our prayers for one another. I am lifting you all up to Him in prayer. May He bless your hearts and supply your every need, to His glory. Amen

Beautiful Nancy, thank you. Ade that is a lovely deer picture, thanks. Ladies I would appreciate prayer for my daughter Angie, Alexia's mom that she won't take any blame when things don't work out or enable my granddaughter to manipulate her.
Jo how are things with your grands?
Praying for peace, joy and acceptance for us all.
I am so grateful for Jesus giving me strength to get back to exercizing, healing my bronchitis and having my port out this Friday. Love, Jean
-
Thanks Ade and Jean. I have felt more lead lately to post scripture as I know that is so important to read and hear every day.
I love the deer pic. Wow. what a scene and right from your house. So beautiful.
Jean, praying for your daughter. I can only imagine how difficult this has all been for her and all of you.
It has been a pretty crazy day seeing my pcp and then trying to get some more meds. Health insurance challenges continue but I am slowly making progress. I fell in May at my mom's and I am wondering if I broke my wrist way back then and it is showing up all this time later. I actually did the very same thing the first time I broke it about 11 years ago. So I will be seeing a hand specialist and getting some xrays as soon as I can schedule it.
I am to see my oncologist tomorrow and just noticed tonight that they made a mistake and scheduled it for way out of town. I have no idea what I am going to do and I was supposed to have dinner with a friend afterwards and can't get a hold of her. Life is full of twists and turns and I just need to hold on tight and know that God has this ALL under control no matter how wild the ride may seem.
I hope you all have a good night's sleep and feel encouraged and lifted with hope to tackle another day tomorrow.
Love
Nancy

Amen Ade.
Lita you will probably love this verse in the Message version.
Philippians 4:7The Message (MSG)
6-7 Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Joanne, praying you get good news at your apt today.
Love,
Nancy

Lord, we pray for Ethan who has been in this car accident. We pray that you will guide the medical staff and that you give them wisdom and efficiency and compassion as they treat him. We pray for your guardian angels to surround not only him but his family and especially for his parents who are so distraught. We asked that you put put a healing hand on Ethan and that you would relieve any suffering or pain or fear that he may have. We pray for an extra portion of your grace and strength for the family as you walk through this ordeal with them. I pray that they could feel your presence and your love during this most difficult time. I pray for Susie as this is so hard for her to see her daughter and her grandson go through this awful situation.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Susie, let us know how he is doing and how you are doing.
Love
Nancy
-
Susie, how old is Ethan? How far away are you from them?
-
I will continue to pray for Ethan and his passenger. I hope you can get some rest. I can imagine how difficult this is considering it is such a long distance away. I will be praying for peace for you and the family and for the injured that they can rest comfortably tonight and there will be good pain control.
Love,
Nancy
-
Susie I'm reading and praying for your daughter and grandson as well. Ask God for peace and strength at this hour. May Ethan be ok as well as the other person involved. God is our refuge.
Aurora

I am praying in agreement with Nancy, Susie.
Getting my port out today.
My daughter is taking the baby to see my granddaughter at the facility for the first time this afternoon. Please pray all goes well. Also for the inauguration. Love, Jean
-
Susie, I am continuing to pray for Ethan, his friend, you and the family. Allow God to comfort you.
Jean, praying all goes well with this visit and getting your port out.
In a hurry to see my MO today. Have a good day dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

AMEN to Nancy's prayer! May the Lord bring healing to the injured and peace to you, Susie and your family.
Praying too for those in pain, those struggling with family problems, tough meds & treatments and insurance ordeals, those who right now can't see their way out of a dark place, those who fear what may lay ahead, those with marital problems, those who feel they have no strength for the today - let alone the future ... May our merciful Heavenly Father touch your hearts with His comforting love and may you feel His arms around you. May He grant you peace, comfort, hope and grace. Amen
The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. - Psalm 29:11 (NLT)

Amen

Susie we're sisters in Christ first of all and sisters in this disease second. I pray that your grandson recover consciousness soon and recovers swiftly. Praying for you and your daughter for strength and serenity. Trust in the Lord above all!
Aurora
-
Amen to what Aurora said. Susie we are here for you. This is a scary time and we all have been there at one point or for what ever reason before.
Praying for a miracle for the boys and for peace for you and the family. Waiting in a hospital is exhausting so I hope you will give yourself permission to rest when you need to. Let us know how things are going. I am glad you were able to fly to Utah. I am sure your daughter really needs your support right now. When my family has been in a crisis I find such strength just being with my family. I pray that you will feel that as well and of course feel the loving arms of Jesus.
Love,
Nancy
-
Susie, I'm glad you managed to get out to be with your daughter. Praying there is positive change soon. Like Nancy said please take care of yourself.
I had my port out yesterday and it is very tender but I'm grateful its done. Hoping it gets better soon. It would be nice to avoid operating rooms for the forseeable future. Love, Jean

Dear sisters, I would appreciate your prayers as well. I have the stomach flu that hit while I was getting ready for church on Sunday,
Lita, love the cactus pic.
Mini, hope your eye is doing much better.
Love,
Nancy
