Still in my prayers....
-
And mine.

I wonder what the hold she has on him is, that keeps him going back. Wonder if Matt even knows what it is, or if he feels guilty when he leaves her because she's so dependent. Prayers, Meece.
Please everyone, keep praying for Paige. She did leave the hospital for a hotel in San Antonio, but is almost sure she'll be admitted again this week. She is having to have some dialysis, and it seems the kidney starts and stops, if that makes any sense.
And please pray for my little granddaughter Anna, who'll be 6 months old this Wednesday. She has pneumonia. She got started on Augmentin (sp?) early this morning at the ER so hope that works quickly. It's particularly bad because she and her parents are in a hotel right now until probably Tuesday because of smoke damage in their house. Long story, but DD accidentally let some chicken boil dry and the house filled up with smoke. SIL's in the home restoration business, so he was able to get started with the clean-up immediately. Still, a baby likes her own bed. And so do her parents! DH and I are keeping Anna tomorrow so they can work.

Oh Kathy, how very scary!!!!! Did Anna get lung issues from the smoke as well? How, oh how, does such a tiny thing get pneumonia? She is at the top of my prayers right now. My DD has pneumonia but she is in her 30's and has the ability to fight it. I can't imagine a little body wracked by such a disease. Please keep us posted.
-
Thanks so much, Barbe. The ER dr didn't seem to think the smoke contributed to the pneumonia. Anna had a bout of RSV around Christmas and despite repeated dr visits still had an occasional "rattle" in her chest. But, she played, learned to roll over (and over) and was usually in a great mood. DD took her back to her pediatrician today and she also has a viral sore throat, which may help explain the drooling constantly. She's also teething. But, she's better today and even took an almost 2 hour nap. No crying at all. We gave her one breathing treatment but no other medicine, since there was no fever and she'd already had the antibiotic this morning. We're keeping her tomorrow too. And, they're all moving back into their house tomorrow, so I know things will be better when she's back in familiar surroundings. Thanks for the prayers---I know they helped. I just hope SIL doesn't have to take her for a ride in the middle of the night to get her to sleep!

Wonderful news! Paige went home tonight. The kidney is working well, and she'll have frequent tests to monitor creatinine (sp?) levels and antibodies. But she'll spend the night in her own bed for the first time in about 7 weeks. Thank you so very much for all your prayers for her. She's one very blessed young woman, to be sure.
And also, DGD is over the pneumonia too. No more chest rattles, and sleeping has improved a lot. She's also sporting her first tooth as of this past weekend.
I did have a good experience at church yesterday. We had communion, as we always do the first Sunday of every month. I was feeding Anna her bottle when my pew went to the altar so I didn't go and was still feeding her when it was over. The minister surprised me by bringing communion to me! What a nice thing for her to do.
Hope everyone has a good week. Too quiet here lately! Hope everyone is doing well.

Great news Kathy. Praise to our Father & to the Lord Jesus for healing your granddaughter & Paige!!!!
-
And as our minister says, " all God's people say Glory!"
Thanks, Eph. Our God is Great!

so glad to hear the good news for both of them Our Father is Faithful !!! Good to see you all here. My health is crap; so i'm not here often, but it's always great to hear how God is Faithful to us all... 3jays

Kathy I got tears in my eyes for the grace of your minister. She has no idea how many lives she has touched in that moment!
-
Barbe, she's the best minister I've ever known in my entire life, truly. We're Methodists, so our ministers are frequently changed, usually after 4 years but sometimes they get to stay longer. I hope this one gets to stay!

I embrace all religion and am amazed at the differences in services. I find it all fascinating as I know we are all talking about the same God, but just using different words. I was raised Roman Catholic, but consider myself a Christian. I did ask for a minister to visit me in the hospital after my double mast. I think he was surprised when I asked him to help me pray for thanks.

Please pray for my family this week.
-
I have been & will continue to do so Meece.
-

Was thinking of you and your family since last night

We went back to work today. It wasn't easy, and we left a half an hour early. I feel like I need to be close to DH in case he needs me.
My immediate supervisor from the job I was substituting at from November through February called me on my way home. It seems the person I subbed for has been absent for the past three days, and he want's to know if he can call me in the morning if she doesn't show up. I am excited to think I could go back and work there tomorrow.
The school sent a beautiful plants and several cards to us this past week, and my supervisor even showed up at the funeral. They made me feel loved and special.
On the other hand we are at a crossroads right now concerning our church. We have been members there for the past 7 years and have served faithfully in the nursery for that entire time. During Matt's stroke and subsequent heart surgery, his cancer and now the death of our son, our church has made no effort to contact us, although I have called the church to notify them in each of these instances. Yesterday we attended a very small church and by noon today the pastor had called me to offer his assistance and gave me his personal cell number. Please pray for us concerning all of these things which are weighing on our minds.
I miss you ladies, thank you for being there. You are my sisters, (My biological sister has not contacted me through any of this, so there is much more to sisterhood than sharing parents.)
-
Meece, what have I missed? "death of your son"...oh dear God, what has happened? I'm am sorry to plead ignorance of what is going on, though you and your family have been in my prayers, I don't recall hearing about this death.....my heart goes out to all of you and your family at this time. How does one deal with this? Only with His help, I am sure....
-
My stepson died in a tragic car accident on the 8th. It doesn't make it easier though as I feel pain as well as my DH's pain.
-
Meece, I am so sorry to hear about your lose. Please accept my sympathy and prayers.
-
Meece, I'm so sorry. Praying for peace and healing for you and your DH.
Kathy
-
Thank you, everyone.

Hugs ♥

I cannot imagine what you and your husband and family are going through at this time. I am so very sorry that I pushed you to tell us... My heart goes out to you all.
-
Meece, I can not imagine not having my church beside me through all my trials. When I was diagnosed in '09, they were great prayer partners but not so great on the bringing in meals, etc. I mentioned it in passing several months later to the pastor. Next thing I know, they revamped the way meals were addressed; when I had my broken shoulder & when Mom died I had meals, gift cards, etc raining on me. I am so sorry that your current family hasn't stepped up to the plate. Is it a big church? My church is right around 350 now, but when I was going through the aforementioned crisis' I think we were running between 200-250. Anyway, you need to do what feels best, but I like that the new pastor has already connected with you & DH. That's caring!!
-
Meece; I went back and read a few pages. I'm so sorry for the loss of your stepson.. And, I'm so sorry I haven't been here for you during all of this.
I'm praying alwasys for your family, but hadn't known all the "rough" stuff was going on again..
My youngest just had his knee reconstructed. He never even called to tell us he was finally having the surgery .. "Luckily" he needed one of my wheelchairs, called to borrow it.
I was able to see his new home, and now, He's emailing me. We've been estranged for quite some time; no reason.. just his decision.
He got back on the phyche meds I had him on when he was a kid. The SAME shrink took him as a pt... so, he's almost back to the boy I raised, and was really close to.
It's been such a heartbreak, and now, a joy!!!to have him "back"
All the Glory to God!!!
Praying for your family and you. 3jays

oh meece, I am so sorry for your loss and then the compounded pain from being "let down" by your church family. My prayers are with you and your family.
3jays, I am happy that you "have" your boy back!
