HI ALL
-
After my initial biopsy, I obtained my reports directly from the radiologist and used websites to understand them. At my first appointment I had a good idea of my status. I felt like the tumor was a small problem and I could get it out and still keep control of my life. I took notes and did not have emotion...but I was shifting in my seat and having trouble swallowing while I listened to what would be next. After that, BC seemed to take over and it got too big for me to control. That's when I found this discussion board and realized I wasn't alone and there is life after BC.
-
Oh yes there is life after BC.we are here to prove it.
Sheila---Im doin good. The movie stars are now drinkin the cocconut water.ha.

hi everyone...man..miss a lot when not on for a few days but my heart is with ya all...still reeling from meeting up with a few (Sherry, Jo, Jan, Gina and Timothea) yesterday in San Antonio while ChrissyB came to town. It was and is truly amazing humbling inspiring etc etc etc...and so much more than I can articulate. I am blown away. Only problem is now I want to meet everyone! Nothing like hugging a friend in person.
-
How wonderful annette that ya'll got to meet. I would love to do a get together! I think I am one of the lone rangers out here that lives in Bama. I normally have a job and work and when you are a nurse it's hard to find time to travel, of course right now no job, little money and I'm babysitting my granddaughter Straitlyn.
I have a med onc appt on Oct. 14th. Yuck! I just love these doctors appts
but I know it keeps us healthy, and I also need to schedule my yearly GYN visit. Then I have a breast surgeon appt to schedule in November and my yearly mammogram in due in November as well and last but not least in December will be my 6 month visit to see my Rad Onc. They will do all my testing and then I will get a reprieve for a few months until May.
Granny, Jo, Barb, Sheila, Annette, Val, Meece, Ducky... and anyone else I may have missed, Hi to all of you!
To all of the new ladies... Welcome! So many nice, wonderful women here at your service to answer questions. I however did not do chemo for breast cancer so I am of very little assistance. I did have rads. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.
Love to you all
-
Hi Mimi..........................missed you...............gray day here in the Philly suburbs...........waiting for the Eagles game,..........love my football, but the Eagles are doing horribble............wonder if their thinking now about the $1000,000,000 they gave Michael Vick...............oh well, at least the Phillies are doing great..............but that could change too................
Tired of the rain.
Hey Granny, I tried cocconut water this past summer............I tried plain, mango, pineapple, oh my God it was awful..........I thought i was me, so I got my son-in=law to try it.............he said the same thing.................what brand do you buy....................I can't remember the name of the one I bought, but it is advertised all over the Philly area................and I love cocconut, go figure.
ok ladies have a great day.................................
-
Sherry I am loving the coconut oil. I love the the way it smells like "summer" which is a nice contrast to the way my hair smells this morning after I had a body perm yesterday.
Annette, so when you coming to CA for a hug? I find it so funny that in a state as large as CA I have yet to meet anyone from BCO! Before I found tis place I did meet someone I found on here (I didn't know at the time I met her.) Once I joined I found her screenname, but she had already stopped posting and she has since left the area.
-
HIya Meece! I will get there as soon as I can! Are you anywhere near San Diego?
-
Meece, I am in the Sacramento area, where are you? There are some CA threads on this site.
-
I think it is time for some of you to visit Halifax!:)
Joan811- glad you found us all...I understand...having information helps keep you grounded and means you can go in to a meeting with a modicum of balance...knowledge..but you still hav edays where it scares the crap out of you. I get it. I have an oncology appointment this tuesday to talk which meds (AIs) I will start with...here's hoping we choose the right one and I have no side effects...god....I will wear something with pockets...would apprecaite a posse of you all to keep me calm...
Tomorrow my boss is meeting with all the teachers to discuss the plan of actino now that I hav quit my director position (which I held for 1 years)....I know someone is going to make me cry tomorrow....won't be hard given that I am fleu0ey and tend to cry then anyhow...good lord.!

What a spectacular group of ladies!! Thanks for sharing the pic, Sherry!
Well, tomorrow morning I have my 6-mo Onc check. The first thing I will ask is, "Well, how am I doing?" Don't see the MO which is fine with me because I prefer the NP which is who I'll see. Hope my bloodwork is good....... Since I had a repeat PAP last year & that puts me into Dec for my ob-gyn appt now, I'm going to have the Onc's office set up my mamm. (oh, Fun!!) I don't want to wait until Dec-Jan for that because of the repeat PAP delay.
I haven't welcomed the newbies & so I will. Welcome, glad you have found us. This is a wonderful group of sister/friends. They all are my rocks & we will be yours as well.
Hugs to everyone!
♥
