Hi there. You will learn all of the lingo really quickly. I was diagnosed at the end of May and just had my surgery on June 23rd. I had a double mastectomy (BMX) with immediate reconstruction and had tissue expanders put in (TE).

Hello to all my stage 1 sisters-- surgery is on the 21st-- the waiting is getting to me-- I want it done with. .. I'm so emotionally exhausted. . . started working out again- makes me feel better-- getting more anxious & scared as the 21st creeps closer--
getting SLN the 20th-- hope it doesn't hurt too bad (so sick of docs sticking things in my boob) I feel like a pin-cushion

Chadneyann: Waiting is the worst! Take one day, one step, one breath at a time....

Chadneyann- welcome. So sorry you have to experience all this but glad to hear they are moving fast on it all!
Anette- you are not a whcak job lovely!!! You are a stressed out survivor who is allowed to have her bad days...I burst into tears on the stationary bike....going slow so I get the feeling like a whack job and unstable thing...but it was ONE MOMENT in a very long week....a very long year....it does not make me a whack job....just a stressed out survivor with one thing too many going on
Sherry- so tedious going to all these appointments, hmm??? I am grateful that these specialists are around and accessible and I am able to go to them but SO tired of it all too...I get it. Maybe a week without any appointments would help?
Jo- hugs to you!

Met a gal ...she is on my training course....after week one (ie this afternoon ) she said "well this is nothing. If I can beat breast cancer, I can do this damn course!"....hear hear!!! another gal on the course piped up with something along the lines of "don't get me started on that subject"....and I sudeenly realized we are everywhere!!! Was I just totally unaware of it all a year ago or was I just not coming in to contact with folks? I did not say anything to her about my survivorship as she seemed to need to talk about her experience two years ago....surgery and chemo...but I think I will invite her to come and paddle on the last week of the course...good way to destress after the intensity of it!

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I just finished 33 tx of Rad after 2 lumpectomies and 6 rounds chemo. Im still on Herceptin until End of Oct. My OC wants me to do Tamox 5 years. I do not want to do this drug. I feel that for a stage 1 I have done plenty! I am already having terrible chemo induced menopause at age 42 - including hot flashes that make me feel ill every hour day and night. Has anyone else said no to Tamoxifen? I am VERY sensitive to meds so side effects are a big concern for me. I am now looking to natural healing for my maintenance program (Vit D3, Lignans in flaxseed, low sugar and high raw veggie diet) My OC will not listen to any of the natural healing methods to reduce risk of re-occurance. Thanks Ladies!
