CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS
Comments

I was waiting to post here until I was sure. My name is Corinne, and I recently was diagnosed with ILC. I am 39 years old and live in Chicago. I had a BMX 3 weeks ago, although the ILC was only found in 1 breast (left). I was told that I am grade 1/stage 1, with the largest tumor being 1.5cm (I had 3).
I am recovering well, minimal pain just the tightness and akward feeling of TE. I am awaiting to find out what my follow up treatment will be as the Onctotype was sent out and I don't have the reports yet. I may have to do radiation due to a close margin, which will also be determined early next week. Nice to meet you all.

We have those nasty no-see-ums way down here in deep South Texas. They are not so bad right now with the breeze coming in off the Gulf of Mexico. They can eat you alive it seems.
-
Corrine - welcome to the sisterhood.... it is a good place to find out about others' experiences, vent, and know that you are not alone...
-
Corinne welcome aboard although none of us want to be here. But it is a great place for support so do not hesitate to ask questions or feel comformable to come here when you need to vent. We all do it.
Jo we are going to Wimberly for the day. it has been along time since I have hung out there so it should be fun.
-
Oh Sherry - I LOVE Wimberly- that is one of my favorite spots to go for a weekend and hitting hamilton pool-that is beautiful place to relax....have fun
-
Oh Sherry - I wanna go too - PLEASE PLEASE!!!
-
Annette and Jo be at my house at 8:30 in the morning and you can go with me. My friends would love you guys. But I don't think we are going to hang at hamilton pool tomorrow we are going to shop in all the funky shops they have there and probably hang out on some deck and have cocktails, but not too many cause we have to drive home. We laugh alot when we get together. Usually the other tables are starring at us.
-
The other tables are staring at you because they are trying to figure out how to have as much fun as your table is.
-
Sherry, oh, you will have soooo much fun! I love small towns, shopping (who doesn't?) & good friends!!
Mari65 ~ I will be freezing my toes off in Marquette, MI at the beach. My DD lives just a stones throw away from the Lake & it is so beautiful there. I remember when our family would camp around that area & now one of them lives up there. 7 hour drive but well worth it!
Corinne, welcome hon. Please keep us updated on whatever your further treatment will be. We are here for you.
Be safe while I'm gone everyone. Take care.
♥

Welcome to our sisterhood, Corrine. So sorry you must join us under these conditions.
-
Welcome Corinne♥
-
Welcome to the sisterhood Corrine - You have found a great place to get information and lots of support.
-
Hi Corrine! Nice to meet you
- you couldn't have found a better place to get support than from these wonderful ladies. We all have something in common... fighting a dastardly beast and keeping it at bay. We are here to lend support and help each other out. You may find that sometimes we stray from the subject and laugh, but it seems to help along the way. Please keep us posted on your treatment plan.
Val I hope you have a wonderful time with the grandkids.
What exactly are noseeums ladies... are they those litttle white bugs that fill the night air? that you can only see when the securtiy light hits them...
-
Mimi, you are thinking of gnats. The no-see-ums are kind of like very tiny black flies, and they do swarm, usually not that high off the ground and usually near shrubs and brush which is where they spend the hottest part of the day. They live by lakes and streams. Their bites really itch!
-
We have enourmous swarms of noseeums where I live and they're relentless. I found a website that said to rub a bar of soap on the bites and I tried it. It worked! The itching stopped! Works on mosquito and chigger bites too! Stay bite-free this weekend!

Hi, How are you doing? I am doing good, ned. I am not done with my reconstruction yet. A little afraid to go for more surgery, but I guess it will be in September. I would love to talk more.
Email me bmmargie@yahoo.com

Had a great time in Wimberly with my friends today. The shops had all kinds of cute things and yes I bought a really cute gauzy type dress and some really cute wedge ship on shoes. Had not been to Wimberlly in many years so it was fun. Had a long lunch so had to give the poor waiter a good tip cause we tied up his table. But he was very nice so he deserved it. Of course we laughed and laughed as usual.
Then when I got home had a message from my DIL in Seattle and they are coming to see us in August. I am so excited DH and I had talked about going to Seattle to see them but this will work better. This way they get to see all the grandparents as well.
-
Hi cookie.....You always have friends here. Sometimes it gets quiet.
I take anxiety pills too. I hope its helping you.

Welcome cookie and corrine.
Ladies I guess we must not live in an area where we have any of the no-see-ums or either I've not been out and about when they were biting. Which is a good thing considering mosquitoes love to eat me alive. I try to stay in during the summer months as much as possible. I like the out doors when it is much cooler unless I'm at the beach where I can get in the pool. LOL!
Speaking of pool I am very excited... one of my granddaughters (Aiden's) other grandpa gave us their above ground swimming pool. He bought them a bigger one. This one was big enough but I guess he thought since his family was growing he would get a larger one. Anyway it's big enough for the 2 grangirls to get in it's 4- 5 ft deep and has a ladder and cover and pump included. I say don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Of course the down point is I have to pay the water bill haha!!
Also a little confused when I saw my breast surgeon last year in November he told me I didn't have to see him again for a year. I got a card in the mail that said I was past due for my appt in May, which would have been 6 month. Hmmm? I know I didn't misunderstand him. So now I don't know what to do. Call and make an appt which will mess up when I'm suppose to get my mammo in Nov. or just wait. It's not like I haven't seen my Med Onco and Rad Onco and my plastic surgeons all in the last 3 mos. What do ya'll think I should do?
-
Renee...I would call and say the DR said one year.
I'm happy for your pool.
And also FB message was too late for me to watch the last half an hour. If you hear it again let me know.
How was you day/ Mine was kinda boring.
-
Mimi - I would call and get clarification. Let them know your BS said once a year.
-
