CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

Just an update ladies. I am scheduled for surgery at 7:30 in the morning - yes, on Saturday. My gyn will be doing a hysteroscopy D&C. He will biopsy the fibroid tumor and clean out the rest of the crap that is in there. I am hoping for B9 results. I am fine with this procedure vs a hysterectomy. The recovery time is much less 1 to 2 days and it achieves the same goal. You may not hear from me tomorrow - I usually sleep quite a bit after anesthesia. Will be glad to get this over so I can move on. I was not planning on surgery of any kind this summer. Hope this is the end of it for a very long time.
-
By definition, fibroids are benign, noncancerous growths.
Hoping the D&C solves your problem Jo and all is B9!!
I have read that Tamox can make fibroids grow if you're prone to them (i am).
-
Rennasus - I am also prone to fibroids. Had them bad many years ago. I have always known there were benign. This is a gift from the Tamoxifen pill - go figure. I am pretty calm about this whole thing and just want to get it done and over with.
-
{{{JO}}} I am in your pocket and will be right there tomorrow.
-
hopping in with barbaraA in o's pocket and bringing some chocolate to share after...it is gonna be ok Jo-just a pain you have to go through this- thank god they are doing it quick to get it over with
-
Jo I'm there with you... Will this be outpatient surgery? Anyone want a latte? Let me know so I know how many to pick up.
-
Sherry- thank you. I am also thinking positively but preparing for anything just in case...I tend to have a 24 hour meltdown of weepiness and then get back in the saddle...that was last year's working theory anyhow so....no news yet so I am hoping it is good news!
Jo- thinking of you, sending you hugs and remember not to squish me in your pocket:)
-
Jo- wow...fast worker or whatI you go girl
samsue- straight dark coffee for me. meet you in the waiting room! thanks!
-
Will do.... I can only drink coffee if it's got a flavored creamer!
-
samsue - It will be outpatient surgery. I got a second call from the hospital and now they want me there at 7:00 and the procedure will start at 9:00. I am taking a book with me - don't understand what is going to take 2 hours. I have all my labs and everything else done. I could get a little more sleep. Should be home by lunch. That won't be bad.
On the coffee, I have to have flavored creamer - Cinnamon Vanilla Creme - but remember ladies, I can't have anything after midnight.
-
you can have yours when you wake up from surgery Jo...bringing a book is an excellent idea
-
PARTY AT JO'S TONIGHT.....until midnight...then we can all get some sleep so we are wide awake while the doc gets the job done
-
When I had my lump surgery last year I did not take a thing and ended up being delayed for over 5 hours. I was so bored - did not even have my glasses. Good thing I slept most of the day. I am also going to wear long knit pants and long sleeves even though the daytime temps are hovering around 100 degrees. The hospitals are so cold. DH is going to drop me off and go get breakfast and come back when I am almost ready to come home. He is terrible at waiting and he would stress me out more than having the procedure.
-
Jo will have your coffee ready when you get your "pants" back on to go home!
-
SamSue, can I please have a caramel frappaccino? I think it is going to be pretty warm tomorrow and hot coffee doesn't sound appealing. Annette, bring some wet wipes in case the chocolate melts since we can't get it out until Jo is in surgery. It would berude to eat in front of her when she can't share in it.
-
samsue -
-
Meece - You gals can save me a piece of milk chocolate for the ride home.
-
Samsue I am with Meece a Caramel Frappacino.
Jo don't worry about your sleep you will plenty afterwards with the anethesia
-
((((( Jo )))))
Samsue, I'll just take a bottle of water if you have room for it.
See everyone in the morning, early! I'm flying in now from MI.
♥
-
Leave it to ValJean to be sensible! How can you be so good? I always opt for the calorie ridden when offered a choice.
I guess I have to leave really early since I am on the West coast heading east.
-
Jo - Hope you have enough pockets - With all of us there cargo pants will be crowded. I'll be there with you too.
-
OK, ladies the coffee is here... waiting for Jo. Meece, the coffee I bring doesn't have calories! I'm sure the chocolate doesn't either so enjoy! Whew, it's getting crowded in here... can someone turn on the AC?

I am home and resting after a very long day. Went to the hospital at 7:00 this morning - surgery was supposed to be at 9:00. I was not taken in until 12:45. Apparently, the doctor has an emergeny c-section to do after his first two cases - I was number 3.
Anyway, the procedure went well. He did the biopsy and scraped out my uterus. No pains, no bleeding. Head is still foggy from the anesthesia. I am starving - DH is going to get some supper for me real soon.
Thanks for being with me today. You can all come out of my pockets now - please be careful you don't step on anyone on the way out. LOL! Leave it to me to still have some humor left in me today.
The coffee sounds really good about now - bring it on.
I should be able to go back to work on Monday and will get results in the next couple of weeks. The doctor is out of town next week for family business - so I should see him the week after. Not worried about the biopsy results at alll. Not even going to think about it.
-
JO JO---does that mean i can get off my knees now???????you sure do sound like your old self again...B9 B9 B9...hugggggggggggs K
-
Granny - Yes, you can get off you knees now. I am fine - just need to rest. The anesthesia is really messing with my brain and I really need to eat something soon. DH is getting supper for us right now.
-
Jo - so happy things went well. Now you need to get penty of rest.
-
Just had something to eat for the first time in 24 hours. Heading to the couch and hopefully see the entire movie I am watching. Our movies channels on DirecTV are free this weekend.
-
Enjoy your movie Jo!
