CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

I love it too. Beautiful. Sheila, you and your father are still in my prayers.
-
Ducky welcome to the stage 1 sisters.... great group of ladies! Sorry you have to be here, but with this type of support it's the place to be. Sounds like you have a wonderful family that is there for you too.
(((hugs to all)))
-
Thanks Chabba & Jo; I am anxious to get started on Wednesday and hope to have minimal SEs.
I am on 3 medications for atrial fibrillation and one of them caused me problems at first; i.e. extremel tiredness, weight gain, numbness in fingers and toes, depression and then a couple of "grey outs". The medication was decreased and all the SE's went away (except for very weird dreams) Hope that happens in this case (or better yet, no SEs at all)

Happy 2nd Anniversary to my sister Joni

Thanks Sheila-my daughter was on a mission's trip to inner city San Francisco in '09 & I had to give her the BC news when she got home. Today, she's coming home on my 2yr dx anniversary & I get to give her the "all clear" on my mammo! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Eph - Congrats on the clear mammo and 2 year cancerversary. I love to hear news like this. What a gift that your daughter is sharing in your special celebration.
-
Sheila, that picture is beautiful.....Reminds me of the moon over the Delaware Bay at my vacation home is South Jersey....I have a place in Cape May Beach, and can't wait to get down there this summer..........It can't come soon enough............Looking at that picture I feel at home.

Woooowhooo! Shelia not more bulging belly
I notice my belly was not as bloated when I stopped tamoxifen too.
-
Now that is GOOD news Sheila!
-
Sheila - That is good and encouraging news.
o2bhealthy - Now I know why I looked bloated even though I am taking a water pill for my blood pressure. No weight gain with Tamoxifen just look like it.
-
Joni ~ I'm a bit late in the congratulations but Happy Cancerversary!! And YAY for the great news on the clear mammo!!!!!!!!!!
I am trying not to stress out - Have 4-month Onc check-up Monday. Will get results of BW done two weeks ago at that time, hoping for good numbers including TM's.
A good thing: At my eye appt today, the Dr. said my eyes were healthy & normal for my age. (I could tell he thought I was 35-36, ha! ha! ~ jk) Getting new glasses & sunglasses. Man, those prices never go down!

HI friend! I have missed you all...a gazillion pages of reading and just want to send hugs and applause as needed:)
NYC was a blast but my new *boobs* set off the full body scanner- that was FUN. The TSA woman came up to pat my chest down and I snarled- BACK OFF LADY YOU ARE NOT TOUCHING ME! I had already told them before the scanner that I had just had exchange surgery, etc...I told her this, she said I have to- I said nope- you are not gonna grope me there...have at anywhere else=not there- wanna see my boob id cards? it was a mess...then she came back and said- OK we will just test your hand?! Sheesh...
What a flipping surprise when I got to my hotel- I decided on Waldorf after booking a cheapo rate (matched what the sales team had to pay at Sheraton)....I checked in and they upgraded me to a corner luxury king executive suite! hahaha- oh joy-I had a foyer, a living room-fireplace, a bedroom, a dressing room and the coolest art deco black and white marble bath-all said the suite was about 1000 sqft. It was absolutely wonderful to be spoiled like that for a week. I walked all day Sunday and Monday- took the SI ferry and waved at the old girl in the harbor-then scored some funky loots and a coat in Soho and the Village. Oh yeah, I worked too hahaha a little. This post sounds shallow but you know what, after so much crap it felt good to be just a little shallow. I met some incredible people and it is always great to get so much good feedback from clients.
Finally made it to PJ CLarkes and low and behold, there was Alec Baldwin...I gotta say- he was kind of underwhelming except for his magnificent hair:0 I must admit that was the strangest meal I have ever had as I sat with 6 guys and took them through the BC process to date...it was pretty cool.
Met with PS when I got home and he is happy with how things are going- will see him once a week for next three weeks and then see when we go for the nips...
I am nervous as the time for my intitial followup visits (3 mos) are coming with onc...oh well...I am gonna go plant some flowers today- I went nuts buying them (which is crazy since I have no $) hahaha
Have a glorious Sunday and be good to yourself:)
-
Valjean - Crossing fingers for good news Monday on your 4 month follow up with onc.

{{{VAL}}}
Annette, welcome back! Did you see DesignerMom when you were there?
-
I sure did not meet up with anyone:( Next time I hope.
-
Annettek, sounds like you had a great trip to NY..... the room - Wow must have been a real dream! Sorry to hear they wanted to "pat" you down at the airport. Good grief!
-
Yep-I got stopped on way back as well which is odd since LaGuardia wasn't using the scanners...they did my hands and then all of my carryons. Funny, I would have figured my TEs would have tripped the scanner not my implants. Oh well. I embarrassed them more than anything.
The trip was great- I had really hoped to hook up with a couple of people but somehow the plans never got finalized:(-BUT since I plan on us all living for many many many years, there will be another chance:)
Next up is Atlanta at the end of April but that is gonna be a quick overnight with the boss to give a talk then come right back.
But I have a longer stretch ALONE the end of June in DC, so maybe anyone in general vicinity...
-
Hey Annette welcome back. Probably you know more about NY than I do.
Glad they treated you like a princess.
-
Annette glad you had a great trip to NYC.
I just got back from a weekend with girlfriends that I grew up with. We do this yearly and we had a blast catching up and laughing. It was nice to get the bc discussion out of the way at first and then it was like I never had to think about it again. I have known these gals since we were 5 & 6 years old. Now 48 and hard to believe you can friends for that long.
-
Sheila- I sure was thinking of you....I really missed you when I found this little coffee shop in the village..it was quiet and friendly and I thought...Man, this would be a cool place to have a cup of java with my buddy:) I am gonna meet you someday because you are a GOODHEART!
Sherry- that is amazing about friendships ...it is admirable and magic. Mine are all scattered throughout the country and world. I am so glad you had that weekend with them. Forgetting about the BC is the best! I think that is how we know we are healing:) I sure forgot today as I was planting flowers all over the place. I am aching right now and my new boobs are like "Excuse me, could you please let us rest? Your pecs are strangling us!" But it felt good to get dirty and do something I love.
-
Annetek,
I am glad you had a good time. You really deserved it. Enjoyed reading about your experiences.
Have a good week.
