Whatever is in my hand at the time!!! Turtles, yes!!!! In Canada there is a brand called Laura Secord -- it's pretty good. And Godiva. And I love marzipan covered with dark chocolate. I prefer milk chocolate but sometimes get a craving for dark. But if I could only have one (how cruel!!!) it would be a marzipan chocolate.
-
For everyday-have-a-piece chocolate, I prefer Dove milk chocolate. It has a very nice flavor and smooth consistency.
I can't find them anymore, but I used to LOVE Ice Cubes because of the hazlenut factor in them. They aslo had an extremely smooth texture.
Specialty chocolate really depends on my mood.
A really fun thing to do is have a "chocolate tasting". Everyone brings their favorite everyday chocolate plus an exotic kind they want to share. Then, like a wine tasting, everyone gets a little taste and gives their opinion. You can even make up rating cards with different categories to rate.
Be sure to have lots of milk or wine to go with it, lol.

Heck, I'll play.
My favorite chocolate is dark chocolate on vanilla Dove ice cream bars.
Second favorite is any chocolate cake with big glass of ice cold milk.
Not much of a fan of straight-up chocolates except those old Fannie Farmer chocs with the maple walnut cream centers.
Anybody getting hungry yet?
-
Dark Lindt chocolate. Boston Pizza's chocolate explosion cake is a favorite too!
Nancy, I loved those icy squares too. You don't see them around as much any more.
-
Chunky Bars, too!
-
i always keep a 3 pound bag of Hershey's semisweet choc. chips on hand. have a few almost every day. The kids don't eat too many and that's good.
-
Toblerone!
-
Godiva choc is great. But it is very exspensive.
-
Yum. Some wonderful Chocolates everyone has as favorites.
Elizabeth- I have never tried Marrzipan- What is it like?
Anyone remember Aero Bars? Were they by Dove? I think so- But cant remember- It was Whipped Airy Chocolate. Loved them!
Athena-Lioness Im having A GAP in NOLA on Nov 5th! I have a Stack of Cookies n Cream bars right now...They were on sale a week or so ago. LOL

I have such plebian tastes in chocolate--kit kats, crunch bars, hershey kisses--now I try to bring in grapes instead of hershey kisses to work. . . .In sisterhood, xo
-
Hershey's Kisses! Very hard to get them here and very expensive when you find them. My ds came for a visit last spring and brought about 5 pounds of them. I'm going to the U.S. soon for a visit and my dh thinks it's just to replehish the Hershey's Kisses supply. he might be right.
Also After Eights are wonderful.I also used to love Cadbury's Fruit and Nut bar but then I developed a nut allergy. Sigh.

Lindt dark or nothing.

Hi All,
Some great choices here.
As a child, I remember a relative sending a box of Purdy's Chocolates every Christmas. Yesterday found a Purdy's store. They are as good as I remember. Maybe even better.
Something else I like, but can rarely find in Canada is Hershey's Almond Joy.
-
Ritter Sport - marzipan or rum raisin.
-
Lindt dark (either 70% or 85%). I find the other brands a bit too sweet (yep, I've tried them!!). Wish I could find a dark chocolate which is mocha-flavoured. My two favourite flavours -- chocolate and coffee, mmmmmm!
-
Pam -- Marzipan is made from pistachio but doesn't really taste like it. Hard to describe. It sort of has the consistency of coconut. It's not real sweet though. Hmmm, I can't describe it. But I love it.
Areo bars! I used to love the mint ones. Dove is good, once I got over thinking about soap! Toblerone -- yah!! When I was little there was a chocolate bar called 4 Flavours. And, my absolute favourite is a Crispy Crunch -- only find it in Canada. Coffee Crisp and Kit Kat. Smarties, not M&Ms. Anything with caramel. Bridge Mixture. Been known to squirt the Hershey's chocolate syrup right in my mouth. Mmmmmmmm.
-
Trader Joe's dark chocolate!!!
-
I read an interesting statistic. It said that a recent survey showed that 90% of people surveyed admitted they love chocolate. The other 10% were lying.

I love all of Lindt's chocolates! Especially at Christmas time, I buy the big containers at Costco. I'm usually good the rest of the year, unless my 7 year old walks by the Lindt at the mall with me, I usually have no choice to walk in and get some chocolate.
-
Lindt truffels, Dove little bites? in the bag, Godiva, Cadbury's nut bars, and Maison du Chocolat bark (only in NYC and Paris) maybe every 2-3 years.
But in a pinch, I'll eat/drink Hershey's choc syrup in a tablespoon! A girl does what a girl has to do !!
-
Every time I visit New Hampshire, I stop by the Lindt outlets and stock up by the bag! In between visits, I can't get thru the day without dark chocolate M&Ms. I buy the snack size; otherwise, I would eat them by the pound!
-
Looks like Lindt is ahead in the polls. Although it is my favorite, I haven't met a good chocolate that I would turn down. I do love the Aero snack size bars for work.
-
Konacat -- the 4 Flavours bar was my very favourite!!! Great dark chocolate with the choice of vanilla cream, caramel, chocolate cream and something else in the little "pockets". I used to make that bar last at least 2 days!!!
-
I am at work at checking the threads and had to laugh...I'm eating an AERO bar right now!! I seem to be addicted to them lately, don't know why. But I've stopped drinking for 11 months now and I guess that's where I'm getting my carbs.
I used to have a vanity license plate SWT 2TH
hehehehehehehehe
-
lindasa, you made the bar last at least 2 days??????????? That's incredible self-control.
Some types of cholate bars (especially with different flavor creams) wouldn't last 2 HOURS for me, much less 2 days.

Another fave of mine is Resse's Pieces Butter Cups. They always seem to do the trick.
I had some wonderful chocolate in Europe though...2 brands if your Euro Kras and Milka chocolates.
-
Harry and David make chocolate dipped dried cherry that is my favorite candy of all time.
I found a recipe for making a homemade chocolate bark that is easy and wonderful. It's great if you are trying to control your sugar intake - it's made with stevia:
-
Okay, you darn girls have done it now. I'm going to the cupboard to raid the Halloween candy bars.
-
Lindt chocolates in the red wrappers only, mounds bar and Godiva chocolates.
I do not crave chocolate that often but when I do, one of the above will do it. Some choclates stated here, I have never heard of...interesting. Like the Aero bar..what is that?
-
I can't really rank order them. It depends what I'm in the mood for but I do like the milk chocolates more. I like: Guylian Sea Shells, Fannie May Trinidads, Nutella, Terry's Chocolate Orange. (I loved Ice Cubes as a kid too, then they cheapened thier recipe by using palm kernel oil that made them taste like soap. Gaaak!)
[The aforementioned Marzipan is a sweetened almond paste than can be covered in chocolate, but traditionally they were shaped into little fruits or vegetables, using the appropriate food coloring. Oh so delicious! While I do love my chocolate, I'm a purist on the Marzipan.]
